      $50 minimum shipping fee or am I understanding that wrong? 10 shrimp for $25 not including shipping is a really good deal. But total with shipping would be $75. I can go to local store and then for $3.5 each plus gas to get there so call it $40. If your code saved 50% then it would be worth it but then you have to wait for it to arrive. 🤔

    They don't hatch in brackish water, they hatch as soon as mum releases them into fresh water where they are then washed out to the estuary and stay there for 25-35 days before morphing and returning.
    Using RO to simulate rains upstream stimulates the females to release the young.
    Great video as always though.

    My Amano shrimp love Indian almond and Catappa leaves, Alder and Casuarina cones, Mopani and Cholla wood, Java moss, Marimo moss ball, etc. They also frequently munch on their Wonder Shell. I love watching them. I drip acclimated mine just to be safe. My betta harassed them at first but got accustomed to them quickly. Now that the shrimp have grown larger, my betta leaves them alone. I’m so glad I got them. They are entertaining, peaceful, hardy, long living, don’t reproduce, and are potentially compatible with bettas due to temperament, larger size, and minimal coloring.

I bought another to replace the one which died and he's still alive. I did buy 2 cherry shrimp and a velvet blue shrimp. The cherries disappeared and the velvet blue got eaten when I put some zebra danios in😢

    I'm planning on getting a coldwater tank which will have some goldfish, white cloud mountain minnow, bloodfin tetras and some danios. Will this kind of shrimp be fine with them? I don't really want a shrimp that will kill the fish 😂

    • @zaink7037
      @zaink7037 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You shouldn't mix coldwater fish with freshwater fish. Probably best to not get goldfish but get the others. Amano shrimps are fine with smaller fish. Just don't get really small shrimp as I bought some zebra danios and they ate my velvet blue shrimp 😢

    • @tayh3645
      @tayh3645 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn't mix goldfish with white clouds, eventually goldfish will get big enough to eat them. You shouldn't have any trouble adding a paradise gourami in there. I believe they live in the same areas as white clouds used to, so they should be good tank mates. Only one male though, females are less colorful, but still nice enough. You should be fine with Amano shrimp, I've heard they might catch and eat lethargic or sick fish, but normally they are docile.

    Not picky about water parameters?! The first 3 we got died in 24 hours bc they weren't drip acclimated! I also read that if the hardness isn't right, it can make the exoskeleton too hard or soft which makes molting impossible. 🙄

    • @AquariumCoop
      @AquariumCoop  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well I import thousands of them monthly and we don’t drop acclimate. We also have almost no hardness in our water etc.

    • @ednajwolff
      @ednajwolff 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not having hardness doesn't mean they're not picky though, right? It can still effect them.
      The drip acclimation was a process of elimination finding the cause of why our first 3 died. All else looking fine, they told us to drip acclimate instead of float. That batch is doing well. 🤷
      You have way more experience than me and I watch your videos before other channels about fish since you saved us with sponges in the filter. My comment was more directed at the other readers of comments than it was at you, to share personal experience.
