The orchestra sounds amazing. This performance proves how talented PTX's members are as musicians...look at how the orchestra waits Avi to sing the last B1 at the end. Amazing and brilliant performance. Well done everybody.
I was there at that concert. I've been to many upon many concerts but I have never cried at one before. This song when you hear it live was more than beautiful. It was a melody you didn't want to stop. That performance will be something I will never forget. Thank you Pentatonix.
I always always always enjoy Mitch no matter what he is singing! I have never heard him make a mistake. I know he is human and I’m sure he’s made his fair share of mistakes just like the others. But his performances are always so pure and intense. You can tell he really FEELS what he is singing. I love his voice. I sing myself and I can honestly say his high notes have me beat! Lol, He never over sings or goes too far with his notes. I actually look forward to the point in there songs when he has a solo part. I became a fan just because of him! I love him!❤️
They don't need the orchestra, but it's something they're doing for fun, it's a bit different. They're doing a whole tour soon for themselves. For the record I quite like it.
I just stumbled across this video....they sound awesome by themselves..but in this performance the orchestra acrtually accentuated their sound. WOW! love LOVE LOVE!
ptx fans can really trip sometimes. there are some cases where the orchestra has drowned them out, but this wasn't one of those cases. the peaks in this song were so much grander and intense because of the orchestra. they killed this arrangement.
soimboredandtesting I'm not upset they played with an orchestra. I thought the arrangement they did for the Star Wars Medley at the AMA's was awesome. I'm just upset that the orchestra didn't seem to care about actually complementing their style. There were sections in this song where the orchestra was playing in a completely different key than they were singing. During Kirstin's section they all sounded out of tune because they weren't playing the same thing. If they invited PTX as guests the orchestra should have tried harder to come with complimentary arrangements.
@@92positivelyemerald haha. I know this comment is super old but it’s funny. She was singing so out of tune/off pitch at times. The music is arranged in the key that the singers preform in. The full orchestra can’t adjust and completely change notes on the spot just because Kristen started to sing out of tune/off pitch. The arrangements were spot on and in the key that pentatonics gave them to arrange. The singing at that point was just not spectacular.
I will admit that there are songs during these 3 performances at the Hollywood Bowl where I wish the orchestra would've not played but this is definitely not one of them. this was dope as hell and the orchestra REALLY accented them REALLY well especially during the impact 😍 AND can i please get some help praising that oboe soloist during Avi's part?? That was amazing
I love the addition of the orchestra. But... they reaaaaaaaalllllllllyyyyyyy needed to play at a Much softer level to not drown out such a skilled and precise group of superb vocalists. Glad they gave Avi more of a chance to shine on this one. What a brilliantly powerful vocal range.
Loved it, if I want to hear the a cappella version it is out there. For them this must have been a treat. To sing in front of a full live professional orchestra must have been quite the experience. Bravo.
yeah but it wasn't what I paid for. I flew from Texas to take my niece and bought seats close to the stage. I thought it was going to be a regular Pentatonix concert but instead it was an hour of the orchestra by itself and then Pentatonix came out as if special guests. Not how it was advertised and like I said, not what I paid for. If I had known, I would have stayed home and listened "the a cappella version that is out there" for free. Still salty. Can you tell? :-)
If this is about Avi, I miss him, but it's old news and you need to build a bridge and get over it. Their new bass is great too and they will be ok. Let's just get passed the fact that Avi is gone and just support them. K? ❤️
this song doesnt need an orchestra, it just drowned the vocals. scott's high notes at the end, kevins beatboxing. i loved this song bec it was just their vocals.
I couldn't agree more. I considered flying across the world for my last chance to see PTX with Avi, but I am so thankful I didn't. I would have been very upset.
I was REALLY upset. I saved for 3 years to see Pentatonix in concert. I didn't realize that the orchestra would be playing along with them. I LOVE orchestra music....I just did not want to hear it with Pentatonix! I wished they sung for the entire concert!!!
+ThatCover Artist I know (well, it was this show and all the other Hollywood Bowl shows), but those were the only ones I *could* have gone to, if I had spent a thousand dollars on a plane ticket.
how cann yall be saying the orchesta ruined the song? even if they are a "acapella" group..they still clasic trained singers! they can sing wit an orchesta to!
Don't get me wrong the orchestra sounds great at times but there are points where it seems either too loud or unnecessary like 1:35 hurt my damn ears in low volume and 0:36 to 0:39 sounds choppy
As much as I don’t like orchestras accompanying PTX, they were pretty dang good in this one, especially at the end, though I wish the audio was a straight recording out of the board.
I've heard there was a secret chord That David played and it pleased the Lord But you don't really care for music, do ya? U guys just don't really understand about how wonderful ptx with the orchestra.. They just want to improve something guys.. Why do all of u always only criticize and criticize?
Yohanes Rian I'm critizing because I flew cross country to see one of the few remaining shows with Avi. I didn't pay to hear the orchestra. I paid to see an a capella group. So not only didn't I hear them sing a capella, most of the night I didn't hear them sing period. It's like going to see a musical on Broadway and they speak the lyrics instead of singing them. All the same lines, same actors but not the same show.
This is the first time I have ever given a thumbs down⬇ on a video. To me the orchestra took away from the group's performance. BTW, has anyone heard if PTX is breaking up b/c of Avi's departure?
They are not breaking up. Avi is leaving the group for personal-healthy-spiritual reasons, the rest of the group are doing solo projects for now. Avi released his debut EP like "Avriel and the sequoias", Mitch and Scott are working with Superfruit brand and recently released their first EP and will release another one on september this year and Kirstin will release her debut album some day xD. However, they not-openly announced they will release another christmas album this year and another one with original songs on 2018. So, PTX is still alive. #PTXForever. Rachel Barton i am still sad avi left
Rachel Barton On the other hand, there are parts that aren't in the accapella version that's played by the orchestra.
I thought the orchestra drowned out their voices. I didn’t like it at all.
Mitch is the best singer and my queen 😝😝
悪意KIP! totally agreed man..!! his voice tho
kirstin and scott i would say
I’m not against PTX and orchestra once in a while, but that they stopped playing during Mitch’s solo was the best thing ever
Mitch is fantastic. Oh yeah, his voice is beautiful. Miss Avi.
Mitch gives me goose bumps every time!
Just imagine how amazing this moment was for them. They will never forget it and that's the most beautiful part about this rendition
I just stumbled across this video....they sound awesome by themselves..but in this performance the orchestra acrtually accentuated their sound. WOW! love LOVE LOVE!
avi kills it 😍😍
ptx fans can really trip sometimes. there are some cases where the orchestra has drowned them out, but this wasn't one of those cases. the peaks in this song were so much grander and intense because of the orchestra. they killed this arrangement.

2:41 is the best part :)
Period
I still hate to see Avi leave 😭
The emotion in is voice is so captivating. It legitimately moved me to tears
same
still breaking my heart into pieces I swear :C
kathi kennedy Someone can please tell me why he's leaving?
I know it's a heartbreak :{

I loved Avi's voice crack at 1:41
Autumn Rae :’(
That’s what you call a beautiful voice crack
Vocal cry

I really wish there wasn't the orchestra as it drowned out the amazing voices which is why I fell in love with PTX

Eargasm. Wish I saw it love. Thank you!
Anyone else obsessed with that "sommmmbody" at 2:50?
oh my gosh this is so beautiful I'm crafting
Crybaby Unicørn The phandom is everywhere! 😂
PTX Phan there is no escape *evil laugh*
I like the orchestra for a special one-off performance. Kirstie sounds so angelic per usual
loved Kirstie's part 😇
Absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
happy new 2022!!!!
Get goosebumps everytime Mitch starts his verse. So spot on!
HalleluYAH, HalleluYAH, HalleluYAH
Amazing!!!!!❤️
I still can't understand how, with just 5 voices, it can get that incredible sound
You guys kill me with this song every time I hear it. Thanks you.
You are incredible, sensational!

brownvirtue now that is a different issue and can understand your being a bit upset.
Arcusfp1 I'm such a Pentaholic though. I'm going to try one more time to see them before Avi leaves.
Great song, good job, but would of loved to hear them do it Accapella style.
I really really miss Avi so much. I wish I can be the member of the low and bass voices
as i listen to it, it melts my heart and soul, very good voice,
Thank you. I love PTX
THE FEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLSSSSSS IM LITERALLY CRYING
Best live performance of Hallelujah and the orchestra isn't even needed 😂
Maravillosa interpretación.....
Just to see Avi in those video makes me cry😢💔 missing him.
On the bright side scömíche and Kirstie have bomb albums (scömíche is Scott+Mitch)
So do Avi and Kevin! They've all got awesome solo stuff out.

DAMN they killed the song with the orchestra at the back.. can't hear them
even with them having inner ear problems, they still performed amazingly

Karen Eitschberger me too!!! I was there on the 2nd
You can clearly see PTX is having problems with the amount of sounds happening at the same time. Their return is not loud enough
The instruments are too loud! I wonder why they could do it a Capella?
how cann yall be saying the orchesta ruined the song? even if they are a "acapella" group..they still clasic trained singers! they can sing wit an orchesta to!

That David played and it pleased the Lord

Well it goes like this:
the fourth, the fifth
The minor fall, the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah

Well, your faith was strong,
but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty in the moonlight overthrew ya
She tied you to the kitchen chair
She broke your throne and she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Well baby, I've been here before
I've seen this room and
I've walked this floor
I used to live alone before I knew ya
And I've seen your flag on the marble arch
And love is not a victory march
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Well, maybe there's a God above
But all I've ever learned from love
Was how to shoot somebody who outdrew ya
And it's not a cry that you hear at night
It's not somebody who has seen the Light
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

What? You mean Scott?
I actually liked the orchestra in this one.
Omg Mitch!!! Amazing! Don't know what happened to Kirstin but she messed up the high note at the end of her part.
Um excuse me, kirstin's part was perfectly executed with passion, technique and emotion.
@@yuvtimohit5804 And did I say her entire part was bad? I said just her end note was. She even took the mic away because she knew she screwed up.
Hallelujah is spelled wrong in the title
Brittany Thompson how?
Avi ♡
Who’s doing the bass when Avi is singing the solo?
Scott, he's a baritone, but his range is *ahem* extensive
The orchestra is not that necessary. They are just superb the way they are. But it's sweet❤️.
i dont understand whats going on with avi, if this is recent. Is he just performing every once and a while
Nicole Barnett he's touring with them through September
oohh okay
Unnecessary orchestra? Probably. I mean, it doesnt sound bad, but in some other cases...it does because of the orchestra
oh avi i mic u😢
This is sadder than the original one

Mitch is sublime as always....... would have preferred without the orchestra though
when there is a group of people who can each, on their own, with NO music (I like it better without), make you forget to exhale......
i can sing this song purfect wth you
They couldn't have asked for the orchestra to sit out on this song??? tf. they ruined it.
Garrus Vakarian Give them a break. They rarely sing with orchestras and to be quite frank, I enjoy hearing the arrangements. It's different and it's fun.
A cappella is NO instraments period. The orchastra killed that vibe.
They were in a completely different key and the tempo was weird at most points. If this is supposed to be Pentatonix's last performance as a full group, I'm disappointed.
Daniel Spain By that logic, the fact that Kevin plays his cello in several songs means they are not an acapella group.
Actually, they are still an acapella group. Just because they used a cello for only three-four songs, doesn't mean that they're not. It just means that those particular songs aren't strictly acapella, even though they only used one instrument (and violin for Radioactive and Papaoutai).
