I think one reason people love this game so much is it's so simple. Its just 6 attacks, specials, and the dude next to you. It was fun back then, and it's still fun. I have sooo many fond memories with sf2 championship edition on my sega (which I still play from time to time), and I want a switch to support this.
The Rogue Wolf, that is because when the original SSF turbo came out, Akuma was suppose to be so powerful that he had Ryu's super in a regular movie, showing off how powerful he was.

I thought $40 was a little expensive too, but once I bought it I got bitchslapped by the warm palm of nostalgia and it was worth every red cent. Super Turbo is legend. Also I don't really think the Switch is lacking games. Zelda, ARMS, ULTRA 2, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Splatoon 2, Sonic Mania... I mean that's already 6 more games than the X1 had at launch.

So what I've seen from gameplay videos and turbo HD remix, is that this version, some of the animations have actually been touched up and improved, in ultra, from HD remix, like in Cammys victory, she actually turns around in ultra, instead of just "skipping" to that position. The improved Polish makes the HD option look a whole lot better, in my opinion, but I understand if people still prefer the classic sprites. Also, turbo HD remix uses custom drawn character portraits, when ultra uses HD looking versions of the classic portraits, which I think is better than the ones HD remix uses. Fun fact, the guile sonic boom in turbo HD remix and ultra is the one used in turbo hyper fighting, instead of the one used in the original super turbo

these graphics and some of the animations were retarded even by 1995 standards. I remember playing this back in the '90s and telling my friends how every character looks like Ryu when theyre getting burned by a fireball or whatever.
In ssf2t and hyper sf2 only real difference between gouki and shin gouki was shin gouki got the double zankuu hadouken and was faster.. not sure if they started dwarfing his health on this game or later on though..

Ultra Street Fighter 2 outselling Street Fighter 5 doesn't sound crazy to me. Ultra SF2 has an Arcade Mode, for one, and a much better roster.
