Thanks for all you do. Got my fz1 calipers fixed after watching your vfr1200 brake caliper video. You should consider an email address for video suggestions. You make awesome content and have a great way of explaining things.
@Rod Rides & Wrenches I'll definitely write you some suggestions. You've helped me so much, thanks again for all you do. I can tell you put a ton of work into these videos.
I’ve got an 06. Welcome to the club. You had said that it runs out of lean angle in the corners. Check out the Traxxion dynamics suspension. You’ll only need to do the front and will notice a great improvement. For ventilation in warm weather get a set of Baker Built air wings and you can direct air into the rider area. You do those two things and you’ll be set. Best bike ever for touring. Have fun!
I currently ride an FJR1300 typically with my wife as Pillion. Always looking for the next bike. However; for a lot of the reasons you spelled out in this video, Lean angle, suspension etc. I can't see a Goldwing in our future. The more recent generation is better but still has some things I can't get past. The FJR doesn't have as much room and we have to stop more frequently but the bike is a beast, especially in the curves, HP/Torque.
Love this bike and the sport gear. Bone stock these bikes rip without all the mind numbing drone of the popular VTwin pipes. As you mentioned Traxxion Dynamics in Woodstock, Georgia for quite awhile. has the answer to lagging suspension. This is no a surprise. Some say no soul. That’s ok with me. Soul for me is smooth, quick and stealth. I like to hear myself think and enjoy my surroundings. Those who discover this sweet gem soon discover the Gold Wing is not just for your Grand Daddy. This bikes lean angles are plenty. For all else buy an FJR, Sport bike or spend some money and jump on a Gen 6 18+ Wing in Sport mode and it becomes a game changer. I live my 22 DCT Tour. My 3rd Wing after numerous MotorCo products. Just my .2.
Love that brought her to life. I bought a 1500SE Goldwing from reviews stating that it is the "best" suspension on a Goldwing that you can find with the onboard compressor to adjust the rear air suspension. It is close if I compare it to my R1200RT with the ESA suspension. They have back down a bit on the suspension part and the luggage capacity. Love your videos and the way you take a bike that almost everybody could buy and bring it back to an almost stock bike like this one, the ST1300, the RT etc.
Just stumbled onto your page great video on the GL1800 I have the exact same bike 2013 purchased new, same color. I really love this bike I've put 68,000 miles on it and have ridden all over the east coast of the US. I installed a Ultimate aftermarket seat and Kuryakin Highway pegs those 2 additions really made a nice difference in terms of comfort on long rides. I do all the maintenance and repairs myself and at first was a bit intimidated but now I can strip the bike down to the frame easily Its a hell of a bike and very reliable. I constantly break the plastic attachment points on the panels so Ebay has been great for used color parts as has Partszilla for OEM. If you do keep it do the head bearings and convert to the All Balls Tapered roller bearings, what a difference. Enjoy !
Ordering OEM here in Australia hasn't been too painful. A lot is ex Japan at the moment and everyone is still using the same"covid" excuse for any issues. As for ordering new OEM fairings, you're spot on with the costs involved with painting make it a no brainer. I need to order a new front guard and it'll be way cheaper to order new. Good to see you finally got the big beast up and running . My ST is coming along and I'd like to say I ordered a set of the helibars that you had on your ST . Made the world of difference and was definitely a better (if pricey) option over the standard risers. Plus a bit more scope for adding extras up there. Next job is fork overhaul and getting tubes rechromed.
Love your videos. I lived in the Vancouver area in 03 and 04 nice to see that beautiful environment. Brings back good memories. I live in the Dallas TX area nowadays. Miss the Okanagan Spring beers!!!
I also have a 2012 honda goldwing and I love it. I have several other bikes (6) and have a great opinion and views.. By far the honda goldwing is the best 2 up bike ever. I have taken my goldwing over 10 states and by far is the best ride. Sorry it doesnt work for you but while on my tour through the states, I have seen more goldwings than any other bikes for 2 up tpur riding.
Damn, Rod. That SUCKS about the arrest and fines. Hopefully it won’t stay on your record, or it’ll drop off after a few years. Either way, the Goldwing looks amazing. I hope you can re-home it soon and recoup some of your investment. Keep the videos coming (still waiting on more fifth generation VFR content).
Great video just keep them coming made me laugh😂 out loud. Looks like that machine will save me $95 an hour shop time... plus down time without my bike... Look forward to checking it out. 😊 Cheers Jen
Hello friend. I think you know I'm a ST1300, but I LOVE the GoldWing. I think you should have kept the ST1300...lol. Lately though I have been thinking about trading my ST1300 for a 2018 GoldWing, or newer. Ride, and stay safe.
Great bike to ride. Awesome engine, one of the best ever put into a touring bike. Weird switch housings, like they came out of a GL1500 discount bin. I would say it is better than an ST1300 or FJR.
Thank you for the shout out! 🏍

traxxion suspension is a required upgrade on an 1800.
Also, bikes don't usually wave to cars.
hanks for the feedback & view!
Great review with honest opinions. Love your work

I hear yah but it is a luxurious machine. I would go with something else to. Either an st 1300 or fjr 1300.
Thanks for the feedback & View!
Jolts are gone. It's light feeling, nimble, braking feels completely different, and it just goes where you point it, easily. Lewis

What are your thoughts on a Triumph Trophy SE

I get waves from all drivers when I take out my 2006 ST1300 ..... Don't know why, but everyone loves the front fairing and call it sexy ?
Super informative- thx.
That static sag is pretty shocking.
The $64M question: Do you prefer the Wing or the St1300 ?
Buy back your ST1300 !!!!
Thanks for the feedback & View!
You broke the law sir..... Not the bike..
