I already ridden for more then 600 km with the C606 and I'm impressed by his functioning ! Only the navigation is bad. Track navigation with a gpx loaded is good to follow but if you want turn-by-turn navigation you're depending of the basis roadmaps loaded into the bike computer have cyclingtracks on it, otherwise it will not functioning or lead you by autocarroads/highways were cycling is forbidden.
I have the Magene C406 and was quite disappointed with its GPS connectivity. It had a lot of drops and took a long time to even connect to GPS. Changed to a Garmin Ege 130 plus and had no such issues.
I love when tech pushes the industry! The route you tested on is bigger and more remote than what many riders typically ride. Anyone logging rides/commutes on phone or watch could really benefit from a computer that will connect all the sensors. This changes the game. Super route, look at that smooth gravel 🤤 dig the rally shirt
9:33 It looks like Wahoo screen is more readable with bright sunlight
Yea hopefull it's just the angle but from the picture the magene looks unreadable tbh
Impressed by its boot time. Currently using a Wahoo Elemnt Roam 2 and it takes 2 minutes - not even exaggerating.
I've used the cheaper magene models and it was pretty good and the battery was good.
Does this unit have a 'dark' mode. So that the screen isn't bright but black and the information isi white 'lit' so it saves the battery even more?
a review Josh Kwan used this for nearly two weeks and he said it still has like 30% left, surprisingly good even without dark mode
I have both the Garmin and Wahoo and it was the Garmin app that sold me. The Wahoo does have a.more readable acreen in sunlight. The Garmin is way less intuitive. The Wahoo (an older Elemnt,) drops a bit too often. The Garmin so far does not. So if this new Magene head unit connects to the Garmin app and to Strava, it might be a deal breaker. Garmin's app is tough to beat IMO.
I have it and I love it
Battery life?
damn 10 hours battery? thats a huge dealbreaker
28 in endurance mode
😮 Damn. I cannot imagine bike gps without -great- rerouting back on the tracks...
Have you taken it on Mountain bike trails? Where does it source it's maps for those?
I did take it on the trails but I wasn’t using the maps for that. I don’t think the base maps have trails pre installed. That might be something in the GPX file. I can try to load an old ride and see what shows up.
@@RunBikeMike please use this on a MTB ride and update us. That’s what I’ll be using it on. Thanks
Does it synch with Training Peaks? You mention3d Strava, so I assume yes. But can you confirm.
Hi there Im really considering a C606 as im not overly interested in the bugs shown in navigation. Can you confirm that the device fits in a Garmin mount as i want to use an F3 stem mount. Great review + detail helped me I hope they provide regular FW updates to help improve the device.
Yes I can confirm it will work with a Garmin branded mount.
What is the name of app to use that?
Why don’t people understand that the software and cloud infrastructure that makes these Products, not a feature checklist…or the hardware.
@dominicbritt Can you explain what you mean?
Very good review! I was in the market for a new cycling computer and already made my purchase before I saw your video. If I didn't already buy a cycling computer, I would have given this some serious thought. I'm looking forward to reading the reviews as this computer gets more reviews! Again, good job!

I happen to be in China and here it is $93.
Where can I purchase this
Here is where you can buy it amzn.to/4a0P1io
This bike computer battery not holds up pretty long then😞😩 How about the igpsport bsc300 or igs630
Does it use a wheel sensor?
you could use a wheel sensor with it. Mine didn't come with one.
@RunBikeMike I'm looking to mount one on a electric skateboard i have a speedometer. Do you this this would be alright or something better exists?
Oh I am not sure it would know how to work with that wheel size on the speed sensor.
@RunBikeMike i won't be able to use a wheel sensor. That's why I'm asking if this device needs one or of ypu know of other ones that run without wheel sensors
This will use gps if you don’t have a wheel sensor. So you should be good.
I have the L508 radar and would greatly appreciate if you could show how the light can be controlled from the Magene 606.
There is an option to select th light mode during cycling. It is a great thing and I use it a lot
You have toadd both tail light and radar on the c606 to control the light functions of the L508
Does it display left and right power?
Yes, it can display left and right
I am using a 120€ Cubot 4" Smartphone (weighs 125gr) with Komoot plus a Sigma BC16.16 STS bike computer for my rides. For my purposes, there is nothing better.
Any experience with a power meter?
I don’t unfortunately
There are criticisms that the screen is very difficult to see in daylight. There is a lot of glare on the screen even indoors
On the rides I have done with it I didn’t have any issues with that. I rode on some pretty bright days.
I love it, I do run, swim and bike. And want to keep all my activities to garmin connect. Does it give an up option to sync the activities from magene to garmin Connect?
Hello, I'm thinking of buying a C606, but I already have cadence and speed sensors built into my bike (Bontrager/Trek) and a Garmin Varia RTL 515 radar. Will the C606 recognize and pair with my sensors? Thanks in advance.
If they are Ant+ or bluetooth they should work
@@RunBikeMike hello and thank you for your reply, my sensors use the ANT+ protocol, I've just ordered the C606 and I hope it will work well, I'm receiving the magene on Friday and if you're interested I can tell you if everything's OK. Have a nice day!
@patpat9463 yes I would love to hear if it all connects like you hope it will. My money is on it will.
Does it have rerouting? If I set the navigation gpx and go off the road will it try to navigate me back to the trail?
I talk about this in the video
@@RunBikeMike Sorry, fact. I watched again and everything became clear for me. Thanks
does it have climber or climb Pro like garmin hammerhead karoo2 and Garmin 1040? ty✌️
probably not... i tried to get any info about it, but didnt find. Well igpsport igs 630 can be found at around 170 usd, with i climb function, but apparently only on planified tours, not in free ride mode as garmin 540 or wahoo bolt v2, or karoo 2/3
Greedy pays twice.
Looks like a Garmin ripoff no thanks.
Magene is a huge company. It is no different than Wahoo. It is just another competitor that most people in the US haven’t heard of because I just started selling over here.
@@RunBikeMike Yes I know. But let`s be real. That headunit is a ripoff from the Garmin edge 530/830 Same exterior. They don`t have product`s that other don`t have. They just copy brands like Garmin.
@@LvanderM who copied who between wahoo and garmin then?, ur logic is shallow on this
@MrLeovdmeer i guess you only use original inventions then for everything? Hipster as hell
@@FOXMAN09 what is hipster when you buy a good brand? Calling me hipster is discrimination.
