These are some of my favorite cars. I bought a 2006 TC Signature like yours last week with 41k miles on it. Love it.

Rust never sleeps. Flexseal is not any sort of rust converter, it may temporarily cover it at best. The rust you see on the surface is just the beginning. Short of professional rust removal and panel repair your best bet is a rust converter.

Once you get down to bare metal you need to seal it with paint. Flex Seal is porous and allows moisture to get to the bare metal and it rusts way faster. Many times a rust spot will happen from a tiny stone chip where the bare metal gets exposed then allows rust to start. Sanding away your protective paint layer in big areas and putting Flex Seal over it and then driving it on a salted road is a recipe for disaster. You are right, nothing you can do will stop rust. You can slow it though, but what you are doing will make it happen faster and in a larger area.

The plastic pieces on the outside covers all that rust inside the doors don't worry about it

I've got a verruca on my fender too. And a wire brush drill attachment and paint. Gonna go to town one of these days.

I did some ugly touch ups with rust reformer and chrome paint. My front fenders look like multiple layers of thin metal sandwiched together and the rust does get through multiple of the layers, so you can clean up the outer layers without resolving the inner layers and it inevitably comes back.

Dude, FordBossMe just had a cherry, no rust, Town Car for sale on his TH-cam Channel for about $5,000. I'd dump the rust bucket and find a better one. You could probably private sale yours for at least $1,000 to offset the cost of buying another.

Your wife doesn’t have to understand or support your love for old vehicles. But she should respect your passion and let you drive what you want.

Slathering Flex Seal all over the car in generous amounts is not helping his point at all. At this point I’d be embarrassed to drive the car and I love big old American cars.

    Hey!
Miss town car videos and you Vitaliy.
If you are getting close to done with yours, I’ll sell you mine for a great deal. Mine is in way better shape, and it won’t break the bank. I’ve done a lot of work to mine, but I’m starting to want to get something else. Maybe a marauder.
If you have even a slight interest, I’ll make sure to contact you when the time comes soon.

Flexseal is not primer. And it is more expensive than primer. It is obvious that appearance is not a priority because you have three spots on rear fender. Why do you not treat it with actual paint primer? It will help impede any further corrosion and protect it from future rust.

I doubt anyone walking by your car would know you've used flexseal. On another note i wish my parking lot had nice painted lines and wide spaces.
