Lyrics: Gone from the house to the snows Like a wandering light You send a last balloon To the solemn light of the moon's eye Over the fields And the arcs of the radial lines That bind the waking world To the hidden life of the empire That sleeps in the frozen lakes And moors in the darkened bays And glows in the golden rays And dreams of us That moves without sound Through the air, through the ground And that streams through each break Carved in the line And dreams of us
Just stumbled across this following a friend add. Awesome stuff! It's definately got that Austin, Texas sound. Bit like Midlake! Always room for some more bands like that around!
@funfabmegan "That moves, without sound, through the air, through the ground, and that streams through each break carved in the line, and dreams of us" That's the last verse of this song, but I don't see how it's a reference to Yeats. I love the second coming, it's chilling and powerful, if the last verse of this did reference the second coming it'd be a really profound statement, "And dreams of us," the idea of Yeats' rough beast dreaming of us, moving without sound, it's an interesting thought
Forlorn Time Man with small dog and unlikely eyelashes wanders and scavenges. He naps, dreaming he has a big dog. When he wakes, his dog is gone! He's all sad. Keeps wandering. In some ruins he sees the big dog he dreamt of, and they end up together. At the end he runs across a stranger Land Pirate who has the small dog. Maybe they end up friends, maybe they end up exchanging dogs, but the story ends before we can tell for sure.
Lyrics:
Gone from the house to the snows
Like a wandering light
You send a last balloon
To the solemn light of the moon's eye
Over the fields
And the arcs of the radial lines
That bind the waking world
To the hidden life of the empire
That sleeps in the frozen lakes
And moors in the darkened bays
And glows in the golden rays
And dreams of us
That moves without sound
Through the air, through the ground
And that streams through each break
Carved in the line
And dreams of us
Such a unique style that just captures all emotions.
You could waltz to this song.

@jilkuk Yes! Go Al.
@funfabmegan the album as a whole references the U.S. nuclear tests on Bikini Atoll and the surrounding islands, I think...
