Bonnie Laufer @movi_boni talks to actress, author, playwright Janine Turner about her series Northern Exposure that is now available to stream in Canada AND much MORE!! - บันเทิง
Currently re-watching the series on Amazon. This was one of my favorite shows to watch in the early 90's. It's when I learned to program my VCR so I could watch it later.
Just a wonderful interview and Janine Turner is just as beautiful today as she was when she played Maggie O'Connell. Northern Exposure is my all time favorite t.v. show. For years I searched for it to watch again, and just finished it on Amazon. And I know I'll be watching it again. I would love to see a return of Northern Exposure with all the original cast. That would just be wonderful.
Maggie O'Connell defied stereotypes, and Janine's performance was remarkable. Her dialogue was complex, and her comedic timing was SPOT-ON.
All career. Adam was correct she would end up alone living with cats.
Please bring back Northern Exposure! I understand that many cast members are " in " if the powers that be could make it happen. Such a great show that holds up today and would appeal to a new generation. I'm revisiting the series and special interviews on TH-cam. ...just wonderful. ❤
I loved Northern Exposure and now that it's on streaming services I'm getting to enjoy it all over again, best show on TV by a country mile. Janine was perfect and her character 'Maggie O'Connell' however imperfect you still fell in love with her. If I had to pick 10 women in the world to meet Janine would be in my top 5.
If they bring it back, they should do it with as much of the original cast as possible. Janine looks amazing! ❤ Miss Northern Exposure 💔
Just rewatched the whole thing -- so much fun, what an amazingly intelligent entertaining series -- they don't make 'em like that any more! Maggie and Joel were my favs!
Rewatching it at this very moment!! My favorite show ever!
I think a "Northern Reunion" would be amazing. perhaps not a TV series but a one off special would be great. That could be a jumping off point for a new TV series based around the next generation in Cicily, Alaska.
I started watching Northern Exposure when it was first on but I didn’t get to continue watching it because I went into the Army. It really stuck with me though, to the point where I was recently looking for it and found it streaming. I am watching it now. Janine was fantastic and I am so glad she got it streaming.
I watched Northern Exposure every week back in the early 90s. It was the best show I have ever seen, including everything I have seen since. The writers were so in touch with the works of Freud, Jung, Joseph Campbell, Krishnamurti, and others who truly realized the reality of what life is all about.
Omg! I was so wrapped up with Maggie and Fleushman! I have the boxed DVD set and watch it seasonally. Such a great show!
What a delightful woman. Such a wonderful show.
Lets get a petition to bring back Northern Exposure.
Rob Morrow has been trying to get it back together as a "Where are they now?" version.. The whole original cast that is still alive was willing to sign on. It was on until recently, and the studioi cancelled.
I would absolutely work on a petition for NE…especially because I taught at 3 different schools within walking distance of Joel Fleischmann’s fictional FLUSHING residence having factually grown up in Whitestone… I can be easily accessed after googling “photoverio” and commenting on any GoFather page
@@marshellebackes Why did they cancel? I don't know anyone that doesn't like this show and most would love to see a return of it in some form.
I didn't get to watch the show in the 90's so I ordered the series from Amazon. I loved the show so much. Their hasn't been anything since to compare.
Just saying the name "Fleishman" the way she does induces flashbacks. hahaha
It is so nice to see Janine Turner. She's still so beautiful and has a lovely voice. For years I kept looking for the show online and I'm so glad its finally available. I always had a crush on her character Maggie, and loved Janine's performance in Cliffhanger, one of my favorite action movies. I'm 45 now and just started watching Northern Exposure again, having only seen it originally when it was broadcast. Brings back a lot of memories and has much more meaning now that I'm older. Janine seems like such a nice person and I would love to see her on the big screen again. As a man, I can assure you that despite the trend these days, most men would rather not see women get plastic surgery. Beautiful eyes and a great smile are never lost. Anyways, I'd love to see another Cliffhanger, so if they do make another, Janine should absolutely be in the movie. God bless you, Janine. I look forward to seeing you in more movies and television if possible. I think you're wonderful. Thank you Bonnie for posting this interview. I'm grateful to have come across it.
But looks like she has had sculpture body work done!
You think that's a lovely voice!
always crushed on her.
I would love to see a sitcom of some kind starring Janine and John Corbett.
It was great. I miss it so. Just bought the first season on Prime!
It is now free from prime.
Great show so fun
She has a bubbly personality and I just love her. She was amazing in Northern Exposure
Love this interview. Shirley Chisholm ran for president too.
I paid approximately $55 to get all six seasons of NE on Amazon and it's the best $$ I ever spent. It's my all-time favorite show and never gets old. Janine and Rob had the best chemistry.
Thank you Janine! This is wonderful. I love hearing stories from NX, which I followed every week while it aired.
loved this show
It says a great deal about her character and her intelligence that she didn't just get naked for money like so many do. That's class.
The episode where McConnell goes back to Grosse Pointe and gets Fleischman to go with her. And, the episode where the old guy comes back after 70s years. I think of it as the Christmas episode, but I don't think it was.
Bringing back the show at all is the bad idea. It was a show nostalgic for a dream utopia that never existed. To have a nostalgic show about a show nostalgic for a dream utopia that never existed is a train wreck you can see coming.
I can't imagine they would leave O'Connell out. Why Janine would want to be in is a mystery. No one is out to get women. You can expect Holling to be in a wheelchair, Maurice to have had a stroke, and Ed will still be living in a shed.
And how can the show be a thing without Ruth-Anne or Walt?
But if it does return, it would be incomplete without a number of guest stars, including my favorite, Richard Cummings, Jr, aka, Bernard.
I'm so glad my son bought it for me years ago on DVD!! I love it so. He knew that~ Ya! Love Janine Turner too!
she is still a cutie
not
Northern Exposure was such a great show. And Turner was awesome.
But she obviously has no clue about the Mary Tyler Moore Show. Or Mary's groundbreaking character. In the early 1970's.
Did love the Maggie character, though.
Maggie was heart-thumping gorgeous. I know it has been over 30 years but she looks so different; doesn't even look like the same person.
Why was O'Connell such a #itch?
What am I saying.. I want the original cast doing their thing. Perhaps Minnifield could have lost all his wealth and be the poorest man in town.
Why do attractive people ruin there beautiful faces with plastic surgery. Is it just me or is it obvious?
