Yes, you've read that correct... It is forbidden to drift at the Nürburgring and if the Marshals see someone drifting, there is a big chance they get a one-day driving ban.
Because of this, unfortunately we do see less drifts each year.

@@milledmiller7562 Always. That's because of the law. What people doesn't realise, the ring is a part of the open german road. So all the rules on the open roads are also applied on the ring. Drifting on the open road is forbidden, so at the ring!
and just like that all my desire to visit and drive the ring is gone LoL
When I went there I did drift on a wetty day. Many said they dont rlly care when its wet
@@m.h3200 The problem is as well, is that drifting makes drivers take unpredictable driving lines. Its a nightmare for people behind and trying to pass.

Actually ring is an open road tho
It's a nice joke and all. But if people are curious of why it is like this, it is during these open driving sessions, the race track is considered a normal street. So you're still drifting on normal streets. - You have to pay for a driving session when the track is closed. Which of course will cost a lot more, but then you can even race with a timer :)
take the drifting here if you are only on the track ... then should be safe ... it is public race track ... not drifting maniac track ... but joke was good ;)

If you end up in a drift keep this basic idea in mind:
More throttle = butt slides out further
Less throttle = tires get more traction
balance between these is key to keeping yourself from a crash. More tips:
- Straighten your wheel if the rear grips and stops sliding. If your steering is not straight when it grips then your car will veer into that direction and maybe cause a crash.
- Know when your car is beginning to straighten out and prepare to straighten the steering.
- Get used to throttle control, meaning tweaking your throttle input mid-slide.
- If you have to force (jerk) your car into a slide, you are risking a crash.
Never lift off throttle completely during slide.

The 235i or 240i guy from GB should be banned permanently, he is only their for drifting but spins several times. I have seen him in several videos. The only thing he does is causing dangerous situations. If he wants to train his drifting skills (obviously he needs to), he should search for another place.

190e was better built than the e30 and even the e36
E30 was a very nervous small car on back roads or fast autobahn runs where the 190e is very stable but still agile because its still light and well made
So many of my dream cars here: E60 M5, E36 M3, W202 C-Class AMG, E46 M3. And other beauties worth mentioning like that gorgeous Alfa Romeo Giulia, a very clean E92 M3 and a growling AMG GT-R. But I have to say, that Jaguar XJ pulled off the smoothest slide at the beginning, with smoke and all!
However, the winner to me is...

Seeing how well he handled that car (perfect countersteering), I don't approve. The typical BMW driver would oversteer and destroy his car.
If you look to the right at 3:18 you can see a warning sign. That's probably a warning that there's some oil on the track. From what I can tell he didn't try to drift, it looked more like the rear suddenly moved outwards during braking.

I went there last summer for the first time, its like an 3,5/4 hour drive from the city in holland where i live. It was so cool man, recommend it for everyone to visit the ring!!
Would have to borrow somebodys car, shipping would be Hella expensive.

Are E46 M3's a popular "entry platform" for tuners in Germany ? I'm in Canada and E46 M3's are somewhat expensive-ish because there aren't a lot, unlike 328i's.

The engine has a bad air/fuel mixture including the antilag system

Could be a number of things. Old valve seals. Fuel/oil dump from his tune after the drifts. Bad turbo seals.
If thats during anti-lag too something isnt very healthy with the motor.
