Very good job mate 👍🏼 I think, and it's only a small thing but does make a massive difference , is to try and get those gear changes a little snappier , in a manual , especially a rally derived gr gearbox , really throw it in FAST catching that flywheel at its peak rpm and momentum and the difference is big gains on catching cars you shouldn't be racing , don't crunch them obviously but at such high rpm the ratios and syncros are matching better and you can really almost change up gears most of the time without lifting the throttle hardly at all almost and quick shift 😉

it's not a stock Yaris. You've made modifications on engine ,suspension and i beiieve on brakes also. The Audi driver did not know the track very well aed in addition when someone is in front it's more difficult because he has to deal with traffic, and he was slowing down at least 5 times so you could reach him
Read the description, it says 'stock power'. These cars don't need huge power to keep up with supercars as they're light and put every kilowatt to the ground.
Yeah right excuses, excuses the Audi driver don't know the track that Yaris taught him a lesson or two. Cape Town South Africa
@@JasonISF it's not stock.it's modified
@@lucienpetrus9432 you compare Audi with Toyota? are you crazy? Audi is by far better, there's no comparison. Now as far for this video if the Audi driver did not have traffic in front of him to delay him he would be 15 seconds in front. The toyota driver was able to catch up with him because of the traffic and in addition the Audi driver was not so experienced with this track, but i'm sure that with a little bit of more practice he would be very good
I feel your pain Yiannis blame it on the traffic now that's lame I'll bet u with a more powerful mod engine that little Yaris would run circles around your Audi nuff said I'm out
Magnificent driving, sir! Also - WTF was the Audi driver doing at 4:06??
Inexperienced. Was wide and panicked I think. Poor lines.
"There is joy in humiliating cars of a higher class and price when driving a modest hatchback"
Carl Abarth was so right
(even though the Yaris GR isn't exactly humble)
You can buy a car but you can not buy driving skill.
Good driving by Yaris guy, At long Section of Track, Audi pulls away. Both are nice machines.
The good thing about the Audi driver's skills are he probably doesn't have any clue why he couldn't drop the Yaris and is now questioning his life choices.
Little far fetched dont you think? Question your life's choices because a yaris was chasing you at the ring? Hes driving a TT rs on the ring, what did you do this day? ride your bicycle? .......seems his choices have added up quite well from where I am sitting.
No he's probably not questioning his life choices. He's not great, at least at that track. But he's clearly not a horrible newbie either. He knows enough to know his own skill level and not to be embarrassed that other people have more.
Directness of the stick shift car and skilled driver with big cohones! Audi had no chance. Greetings to You from sunny Croatia.
The Yaris had the taking of the Audi on several occasions, especially in the corners.
😂😂😂😂 ma dove?
Is it my imagination, or do we keep hearing the squeal of Audi tires? Meanwhile, your Yaris is being capably driven well within it’s performance envelope. A joy to watch.
The Audi is junk in corners. You can see how it rolls and slides. Yaris had to slow down because of him!
@@paradoxicalcat7173😂😂😂😂😂 somaro
Great driving! But some rather interesting "racinglines" from the AUDI driver...
oh wow you have great skills and have understanding track line, hat off sir!
The audi driver just dont know how to put it in corners. Even the tts is faster than yaris in a track...and do not forget the settings of the audi is for comfort and everyday use,the gr is a "weapon"
Nice smooth line mate! The GR has awesome, love it. Keep goin'!
LOL, TT RS would leave GR on straights just like that. He wasnt pushing. TT RS is crazy fast car.
Absolute respect to the Yaris driver.
You should have met me in my TT-RS. I'd shown you what it was capable of...
Great 👍 I will be there next on the 18th of September. Let's do a few laps!
@@GreatMotors You know, I don't have the TTRS anymore (it was the yellow 8J - there is footage in my channel) so we can actually only have laps together with the TCR I have now. But anyway, that will be fun as well. 😎 My plans don't allow any NoS visit before the weekend 24th/25th, maybe earliest beginning of October...
P.S.: What I wanted to express is that pointing on an obvious newbie in a car with way higher potential than the drivers is not the very best example for a general judgement. 😉
P.P.S.: But I play the same piece of music in my channel as well having met Newbies in high potential cars 😁
Write me a message when you will come by next 🖖! I like the TT, I had one my self (not the RS). I find the RS quite in-interesting given the price point and other competitive options (718s I am looking at you).
@@GreatMotors people will buy it for styling and the sweet 5 cylinder engine alone, and they are great on the road in any weather so it has its perks..
@@MyRealName definitely. But they have a very niche market (thus the small sales). On the other hand the TT and TTS seem to be better positioned.
That was intense! Couldn't stop watching!
If in the right hands the TTRS is a lot faster
It's also a lot more expensive so it should be faster.
You're the best sounding 5 cylinder yaris I've ever heard lol
Audi driver should follow the GR Yaris for a few laps to learn the circuit rather than overdrive in the unknown…..
This is a joy to watch! Great driving!
"Circuit Pack" or "regular" GR Yaris?? Amazing driving - as always :-) Stay safe!
Circuit pack. Or how the call it in Germany high performance pack.
9 minutos de adrenalina arriba de ese yaris. Buen manejo.
Шикарный прокат! Так напрягать и подрывать самолюбие хозяина ТТ ещё нужно придумать)
Yaris bidone😂
Nice, bit late on power when exiting most of the curves or your were just not pushing it and taking it easier. Then I decided to watch again with sound on, and I see you are bit on careful side and Yaris has lack of power compared to Audi. None the less, very nice video and nice drive, thank you for uploading it!!!
Let's look at the facts, that TTRS is almost one litre larger capacity at 2.5 it has 2 more cylinders and probably close to twice more horse power than the GR. It was only just pulling away on the straights, the GR was right on it's heels on the corners. Fantastic! bit of driving 👌,what a car that GR Yaris is, I should know I have one 😃
What about the weight?
😂😂😂😂 il traffico dove lo metti?
Great to watch and that's the first time I've ever seen a car not take the inside line at the " Carousel ". It was a bit like watching Hamilton in the Audi and Alonso in the Yaris. C'mon man, complains Ham, I'm the best I'm the g.o.a.t, you're not supposed to be this good. Alonso, hold my beer! 🙂
Imagine how corolla will be lol
Heavier and slower.
@@khamid1 nop mate lol look it up
@@Shaylesety Even the lightest version of the GR Corolla, the "Morizo" edition is 1,445kg. The GR Yaris is 1,280kg. If you think the slight increase in power will make it even overall, you are kidding yourself.
@@Shaylesety look what up?
What an amazing little car that Yaris is.
So true shifting was really granny style, but I understand it as him having carful drive behind Audi.
The transmission is not rally derived, it's just a normal toyota manual transmission
4:50 nice casual swipe of the hair under heavy acceleration. 👍
Yeah...like gay 😆
Nah, it’s just Good driver vs bad driver.
Das beste was ich seit langem gesehen habe - absolut top - klasse gefahren - Glückwunsch 🎊🎉🎈👍😎🍀
Looks like you had just as much understeer as he had
If that were the case he would never had caught him.
@@mattyoz0 the Yaris was completely at the Limit
Perfect handling and a real track drive of your Yaris !
The TT is faster in straight shot but less effective on curves and chicanes, not sure he can hold 1h running.
4:07 did his mind understeer?
I think there was a time (around 7 min in) you got some air :-) Excellent video and love seeing the GR doing what it was designed for.
I’ll take the TTRS any day over the Yaris. Oh wait I already have one.😂
Even with the price difference? Can just about get 2 GRs for 1 RS
@@yaboiyosef7640 even then. The Yaris GR is a cool and quick car, but far away from the TTRS package.
@@yaboiyosef7640 give it 5 years of ownership and you could get 2 RS’s for 1 GRY !

Great video! This little Yaris is incredible!
Audis are driven usually by the biggest dick heads here in Australia. Nice driving mate, looking to get one of these little beasts one day to replace my previous BRZ.
This is so true🤣
Bei Audi ist das Gaspedal in der Kurve immer kaputt ...
This is germany mate, not australia … 😉
you in the TT, he in your yaris car.... and.... bye bye baby, he wouldn't be able to hold on that close as you did :) Nice ride! (so it's only about power, but... skills)
His track positioning was appalling!
Sorry that not everyone is a pro driver like yourself

ur better rider already! Awsome👍
What a silly click bait.
The TT driver enter the corners from the inside... He do it all wrong. And you still couldn't overtake such a bad driver.
What is clickbait about an Audi understeering ?
@@GreatMotors that this video doesn't show any Audi understeer.

That Yaris is a beast but remember that chasing is always easier than driving ahead!

Smooth driving.. very nice, it feels like Yaris driver take it easy :)
TT RS wasnt driving to the limit
Racing at Nürburgring Nordschleife with other mixed cars performance & drivers' capabilities are more into survival driving instead of setting record ( Record setting drive normally done with renting whole Nürburgring Nordschleife for that 15 minutes or so by the MotorSport Team ) >>> Anyway , Thank You So Much to show us the capabilities of the new TOYOTA Yaris GR ... p.s. This dude love the Yaris, he should be in *_24H-Lemans_*
Brooo. This was pure fun to watch!!!!!!!!!!!!!
amazing drive by the Yaris driver.
I think most would agree if the Audi and the Yaris drivers switch places it would be a completely different story here.
This driver shows how fantastic this yaris is,VERY WELL.
Impressive driving skills you ve got there, mate...
Thank you ✌️
Geeeeeez big nuts to drive like that Chasing the TT. That dude on the Audi was struggling to keep pace.
That was a clean lap, so much fun. I wanted to rent Apex's GR but it died, so I rented everything else :') I wish I had saw you, I wanted to ride the GR so bad.
Hopefully it will be ready for next season :) Drive safe!
The Audi driver does know very well the track.why? Nobody turns with 160-200 km/h if you don’t know the track!! My opinion is the Yaris and driver takes everything thing out of the car. And drive like a king.Because I know know? Because I own Yaris Gr. Just perfect big shout too this man!!👍🏻🔥
TT only good in a Straight Line. Yaris Brakes and Grip is Out of this World.
Félicitations au pilote de la Yaris 👍👏👏👏
