Your video turned out to be an early Christmas Present!! You are most appreciated! Your fix it video very detailed, well paced, good lighting. Thanks again!
It's possible but I think there could be a number of reasons. If your refrigerator control panel (on the front of the fridge) is similar to mine, you can press the "Freezer" or "Fridge" buttons and the first value that appears on the screen will be the temperature setting while 5 seconds later it'll switch to the ACTUAL temperature in each area. So unless the temperature for the freezer measurement is off (and, especially, low), my guess is the sensor isn't the problem.
My local appliance repair shop as well as an additional appliance repair shop told me that a new temp sensor from Samsung and other parts are very hard to get and / or one must wait a heckuva long time for parts to come from Samsung to the US. Why on gods green earth could this be? Is this a universal scam among appliance repair shops to con a person into just buying a new refrigerator? Ripping off a homeowner for a brand new refrigerator is the only thing that makes sense in this case. Any thoughts? and thank you for the video.
Hmmm, that's odd. Perhaps they only buy actual Samsung brand parts and those are backordered? Or maybe you've got an older fridge? Otherwise, I have no idea.
I dunno. Had to replace this exact part on my Samsung side-by-side and when it was removed the temperature display for the refrigerator side just read double zeros until I put it back. The defrost sensor is the little black thing that has the two nipples on it that is usually stuck to the left side of the evaporator coil. The defrost heater sensor on this fridge and almost every Samsung fridge I've ever dealt with is usually the wire with the blue or yellow plug with the brown or black wire that is usually encased inside a clear sheath. There is two sets of wires that go to the panel as you mentioned he set to the side one is for the evaporator fan motor (which has a red, black, and white wire its usually the bigger plug) the other plug is for the LED lights that are in the panel (usually just two wires one is white one is black).

Great! Glad this helped!
Would this sensor (the one located in the freezer) be the reason why the freezer will not cool? Especially, if both fans in the freezer are working.

What is the black gooey stuff? Mastic?
I'm not sure what it is.

@@FixEverythingYourself ok. Thanks!
I believe you are replacing the defrost sensor. The temperature sensor is inside the panel you set aside. Just sayin.
Thanks for the comment. This is indeed the temperature sensor but some people call it the defrost sensor.
I agree. I believe the temperature sensor is at the top of the panel that you set aside.
