-(I would like to express) a great "I'm sorry" to my country and the country of Pakistan for the turmoil I caused...
-(I would like to express) a great "thanks" to the Pakistani authorities who considering me as one of theirs (citizens) and worked very much risking their lives. I bare this heavily because there were casualties on my release.
-When things calm down, I would like, of course with the support of the Pakistani consulate and the Greek government, to return in order to continue this work (project)... I can not abandon this work (project)...

Islamabad, Nov 29 (Prensa Latina) Pakistan''s age old Kalash ''Suri Jagek'' tradition was reportedly nominated by UNESCO to be included in its list of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
The decision was taken during the 13th session of UNESCO's Intergovernmental Committee held in Mauritius, geo.tv website posted.
'Suri Jagek' (observing the sun) is a traditional meteorological and astronomical practice based on the observation of the sun, moon and stars in reference to the local topography by the Kalasha indigenous community residing in the Chitral district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, province of Pakistan.
'Suri Jagek' plays a key role for the Kalasha community in important social events such as festivals, feasts, rituals, animal husbandry and farming practices.
The Permanent Delegate of Pakistan to UNESCO and Ambassador of Pakistan to France Mr. Moin ul Haque described the nomination of the Suri Jagek tradition by UNESCO as a historical achievement and said that this tradition will be protected as part of the shared human heritage of the entire world and will continue to serve its spiritual and utilitarian purposes.
The ambassador said that the nomination of 'Suri Jagek', being Pakistan's first ever-independent nomination at this forum, was a milestone to ensure a better visibility of the rich folklore traditions and cultural diversity of the country.

Proud of Hindu aryan heritage. Love Kalash and nuristani people. The last remnants of hinduism in its original vedic traditional form. India must give these people honorary Indian citizenship and offer to relocate to Himachal Pradesh.

+Abdul Khan unfortunately thats not the case. These people are are being targetted. Their women are kidnapped and forcefully converted. India should offer them n yazidis of Iraq/Syria to resettle in India. Choice is theirs after all but we must offer.
kidnapping is all over the world its doesnt mean ppl leave country. i belongs to pak so i knw if they r not happy they could leave pak long time ago .on other side of india alot population even ppl doesnt have houses to live in india so govt should focus on their own public to resolve their fundamental issues.

Now, let me tell you what has disturbed me the most this week. It is a report by AFP that is based on a Taliban video posted earlier this month on the website of the Taliban’s media wing. Let me just quote the intro of the AFP story: “The Pakistani Taliban have announced an ‘armed struggle’ against an indigenous tribe and Ismaili Muslims in the picturesque northern Chitral valley, calling on Sunnis to support their cause in a video”.
The tribe identified is Kalash, “a polytheistic people who claim descent from Alexander the Great and who have maintained separate cultural traditions in the country”. The narrator in the 50-minute video has warned the Kalash, who number around 3,500, to convert to Islam or face death. Can you imagine what this threat means?
Here is another quote from the video, as translated by AFP: “The Aga Khan Foundation is running 16 schools and 16 colleges and hostels where young men and women are given free education and brainwashed to keep them away from Islam”. The video vows to foil the plans of international NGOs that are accused of creating an ‘Israel-like’ state in Chitral by attempting to protect the Kalash culture.
We can be sure that our intelligence agencies would be aware of this video but we do not know if the establishment has received the message and has understood its implications. The AFP report was published in, as they say, a section of the media on Thursday. There have also been some comments and Imran Khan, too, has expressed his concern. But this report, for whatever reasons, has not been widely projected in the media.
Is it because the Taliban video is not as newsworthy or important as the gibberish that is talked in our talk shows? Or is it the fear of the militants that keeps not only the popular media but also the high functionaries of the state from responding to these threats in a forthright manner? One excuse may be that the Taliban have not stated anything different from what they have always professed.
Besides, our rulers have learnt to look the other way when it comes to dealing with the atrocities committed by religious extremists and sectarian fanatics. Pakistan, after all, was an accredited patron of the Taliban when they destroyed the ancient Bamiyan statues of Buddha, a priceless heritage of all mankind, when they governed Afghanistan - and this monumental crime was committed six months before 9/11. We were also unable to convince them about the right of the girls to go to school. You see, there is a track record.
Coming back to what has happened this week and whether any specific event has awakened us with a jolt, the general impression remains that our rulers look at all this as business as usual. They seem to be removed from the reality of Pakistan as it is manifested in recent developments. Telling the TTP that negotiations cannot go ahead if attacks of the kind that killed policemen in Karachi continue is very much like action replay. The peace process is intact. What has been shattered is the people’s confidence in the state.

Neither Mr. Lerounis nor the Greek government nor the thousands of volunteers though of using the Greek alphabet to write the language of the Kalas people.
The Etrourians used the Greek alphabet to write their language, the Romans did and with them most part of the word calling it Latin alphabet, the Russian did
calling it Kyrillic alphabet. The Kalas would be happy to take and use it, if they really believe that are the descendants of Greeks that is if they believe that are
Greeks.
The second reason for this writing is; Pakistan may have been a friendly country to Greece 20 and 30 years ago, today it is not. The government of Pakistan
has promised diplomatic, financial and military help to Turkey in case of a war with Greece. The Taliban and different other Pakistani groups try to convert the
Kalas to abandon what they have preserved for 2,325 years and become Muslims. Now they are still unique, by becoming Muslims they will disappear. The
Pakistani government has received order from, you know where, to exterminate the Kalas as a distinct, independent group. This is why they promote tourism.
We enough examples in world history of tourism caused the disappearance of cultures, languages and people.
The only way for the Kalas to survive is to relocate to Greece. To the place they believe their ancestors came from. They believe they came from there, they came
from there. The human soul decides where we all belong, not cold, impersonal biological-chemical tests with a rate of error of higher than 10 per cent.
The relocation is financially feasible, Greece and the Greek people have money and everything else necessary to relocate the Kalas and establish them in the
new country in an environment I am sure they will like.
About 30 years ago to my memory, the American Air Force in a heroic act moved 20,000 people of Ethiopian ethnicity and Jewish faith from Ethiopia to Israel
during one week end, this cost the American tax payer $20 million.

Kalash people are indigenous people of Indian subcontinent. There habitat has been the hilly parts of North Easrern Afganistan and around. By ethnicity they are Dardic people ( like indigenous Kashmiris ), a sub-family ofI Indo-Aryan race and their language, Kalash, also belongs to the same language family. They have a documented history of confrontation with Islamic invaders and to safeguard their identity and culture only they probably settled here centuries ago. As per studies by many religious scholors and academicians there faith has a clear root in ancient Hinduism, the traditional Vedic practices. Many names of their dieties also bear exact resemblance with Hindu deities.
Kalash people are endangered and are getting constant pressure n threat, lately, to convert or get displaced. Many of their women have been kidnapped and forcibly been converted to islam and some teenagers have been killed. Moreover they now have come under the radar of taliban also. Under such circumstances it will be difficult for pakistan government to provide them adequate protection and they are going to remain vulnerabale at the hands of evil.
I strongly propose that they be relocated to Indìa in Himachal Pradesh. Many of local traditions and culture of Himachal bears close similarities to theirs and they would feel at home and at the same time be able to follow their tradition and live their culture freely.
I request all resourceful Indians and world citizens to bring this matter to the knowledge of respective authorities and strongly stand by their side. Guys we need to help them out hurriedly.
