@@3985uprr yeah but even if they aren’t retired this was 30 years ago and Conrail isn’t around anymore so i don’t think anyone would hunt down this crew and fire them.
Is it just me or do wide cab units look really ugly with top-mounted headlights? Norfolk Southern are an exception as their "whiskers" on the front kinda make up for it, but on most other railways' liveries the headlight belongs only on the nose IMO.
Well Northern Southern places their number boards on top too so it fits nicely. These units with the lights on top and numbers down below doesn't flow as well
The chug of the GEs are music to my ears.

this is really cool
I figured it was safe to post this since the crew probably retired by now

May I use this footage for documentary if I credit you?
Yes. I used to be stationed at Williams AFB in the 70’s. Earnhardt Ford and that ain’t no bull. Please show me the credited video when ready
Were they any good as locomotives?
Yes they were
@@3985uprr cool, thanks
Did all of the Conrail C40-8Ws have analog gauges or was that just part of the first order?
I’m not sure

I’m partial to standard cabs
