I worked for annada college office staff for like 5 years. One thing that never cease to amaze me how every single student who comes through the college main gate, never forgets to bow before the lord buddha's statue inside the ananda viharaya, even the primary kids. They consider it as the most sacred place inside the school . I have never seen them running infront of that building. Such discipline such order❤
Viharaya is definitely the most iconic building inside the college along with the Olcott hall. Most things u mentioned comes down to the sub-culture and traditions that anandians live by. Not because they feel like they have to embrace those "values" and follow those "traditions"just for the sake of it, but because they know it's the right thing to do.
