If the train is in a nearby station the gates go down. Then it takes a long time for the gate to go up after the trolley has passed. The trolly goes by every 10 minutes in each direction.

tbh even though ive never seen california since march 2016, I really like the old style when the mechanical bells were around and the bullshit no train horn wasn't in place. and I really dislike the new chargers they have now
