- Check out some Action from yesterdays rebuilding of the driveway. This driver was very skilled. We asked him to Drop Spread (aka tailgating in truck talk) in reverse due to the real soft, freshly graded and wet dirt, and to save time so our Builder did not have to move a whole Pile of gravel as we wanted to finish this project in one day (Which we did, stay tuned for more complete updates!). This dump truck might give you younger kids some farming simulator ideas! We have been building our dream country home, and it is now complete, so check out some of our more recent videos on Kapper Outdoors TH-cam. Some people paint with brushes, this guy uses a haul truck.

It's called a dump truck. Get it right
It’s called a dump truck by the way
What's so special about it?
That’s Ole Drop-spread Danny... he been spreading for 45 years.
I don't care what all the genuis' say, he rocked that thing especially with super soft clay underfoot! (And that he'd been out of driving for awhile as well!) Thanks.
Astraios Studios lmao savage
That's funny. Theres a guy in Oklahoma named Dan Schmidt who works with his brothers at Schmidt bros excavation and he can literally do this exactly. Good ol Danny.
The labor workers must love this guy some sites your lucky to get a spread rather than a big pile
It amazes me how many people expect this service provided for free. We charge to spread. Time is money and we're saving you tons of it at our expense if we aren't compensated.
Good information man appreciate it
I drive dump truck wherever I go and play good country music on the radio you'll find me talking on the cb life is good.......
I sure can't disagree! The open road, the road less traveled, a big truck and cb.. It's all good!
For the people saying he did a bad job spreading in reverse....Lets see your video of you doing what he just did
...
LOL, agreed! Lot's of pro's out there.. This was very soft ground and he had to back up to a brand new home.... Not easy..
Jim h...Please post your video so we all know what a pro like yourself looks like.....
Trent Blasco yes, I will feature it on my channel. Thanks
Trent Blasco
Son.
I spent 36 years as a skiploader specialist..
In 36 years i never missed a pour schedule..
Working in Southern California starting in late 1969
We saw a building wave the earth will never see again...
There was so much work..
You could spend an entire career running one type of machine..
I have nothing to prove to anyone..
Unless you want to lose money....
trent i don't have time, i'm out working doing the jobs. you don't understand, you can't tell a pro by what he looks like, you tell a pro by the job he does. but i'll tell you what, if any of you want to rent a dump truck and come on out i'll show you how to do it. that is unless your all talk
If I was the guy who’s going to spread the gravels after he damp it I will definitely buy him lunch because he just saved me a lot of work
Not if you are in a machine, that's just lazy.
Been on alot of Concrete jobs, seen gravel dump, fresh house builds, commercial building... That's a TruckDriver that's Great... For some it's not A JOB, BUT A PASSION... OF DEDICATION.... EXCELLENCE...
Thanks man I agree! Without this reverse spreading, it would have been lots more work to use the skid steer, so it worked out quite well! Cheers!
Might not look like much to the untrained eye but that dude has skills
I totally agree... That dirt was so soft, that he'd have made ruts a foot deep trying to back on it without the stone..
Spoken like a true untrained eye lmao
Well ok but maybe take off the safety chains and then I'll be impressed.!!!!
I don’t see what’s so impressive and I ran a gravel/dump business for over a year. Spreading in reverse is no different than going forward if anything he laid it way too thick and left mounds at first.
As a dump truck driver very good job, chain up that tailgate to the last link pop the tail and back her down! Nice job👍👍
Thanks 👍 I was glad he didn't hit the house :)
Nice work bro, as a dump truck operater myself I can definitely appreciate your skills!
Thanks man, I also thought he did a fine job!
I used to drive a dump bucket and could spread in reverse trust me it's not as easy as it looks
It is hard enough to do it backwards
@@satunnainenkatselija4478 No, no it won't
Not that hard. Keep the gate from opening more than 6 in
@@satunnainenkatselija4478 no
It’s a art of perfection for sure. I haul with a dump trailer behind my ram 3500 and my first tailgate was complete crap. After a few runs I found 4wd low at a certain rpm depending on how thick I need to spread works every time after many trials of calculation. This last summer I got pretty good with doing it backwards like this installing new drives by trailer. A good driver definitely saves you time and money.
Thanks and yep, I agree. Takes some practice, but in this case, with the clay super soft, we really needed this one to be spot on!
That's some super driving stuff there.
You Have Just Seen A Professional At Work
Yeah...I don't think so.....
IrishMusicCountry uk
zulu o
It does take practice.......but when the tailgate is chained open is much easier...still smooth tho
👌
Was doing that 30 yrs ago with 21ft aluminum dump. That's kid stuff
I've spread with a dump truck a few times but I can't come close to this driver . This driver is GOOD .
I agree. Although some seem to think this is just average!
Give that man a raise he so rightfully deserve!
I used to work with a guy that was really good at this and it was so satisfying to watch and not just because he made my life easier.
Nice job. Most guys CAN do this, few WILL.
If you drive a dump, that’s part of the deal. Job requirement to back up.
As a guy who drove a dump truck for many years that driver is GOOD !!!!!!!!!!
I'd agree! Super soft ground, reverse right up to the new home! Thanks
Good job. Speaking from experience.
Gotta love a professional at his craft.
100%!
I find the bad drivers more entertaining. You sir have skills
I was glad that this guy was working with us on that day!
Nicely Done!
Building your own house is so much fun
ha ha! I disagree!!!!!! lol
Kapper Outdoors Lol I meant it sarcastically, I built mine about 3 1/2 years ago it was a nightmare Peace
good job buddy. my dad has been driving for 30 years and i have seen him do this and some other jobs that seem impossible, which only legends could.
Thank you. Under the circumstances, this worked out great and nothing got wrecked :)
I’m not knocking his skill because he’s definitely skilled and proud of it, he’s definitely a great driver. If anyone gets a chance to watch Michels Corporation put down stone they’ll have a fleet of guys doing just what he did without missing a beat. It’s impressive
That’s kind of an amazing skill.
It is a valuable skill for sure!
I have to give the driver props, that was awesome.
Thanks, yes I agree!!
That was done by a true boss
I agree! Great work in bad conditions!
Well done! Six pack for the driver!!
Had my drivers spread asphalt grindings like this when i was paving. Yes it is very effective
Nice work.
Alright, listen up. I knew a dumpie once. Could spread the cleanest, best layer of pebbles the world has ever seen. I saw him in action thrice, he was a god damned artist, last of his kind, sadly. Folklore says, one Christmas Eve, long ago, he dumped 128 Christmas Trees to all the poor residents of Dumpville. Legend has it, that he dumped each tree, right side up, directly inside the living room of each family, from his truck. Christmas Miracle!! Happy Holidays!!
And Merry Christmas to All!!
Rob its true
r/wooosh
What ?.... he couldn't decorate 'em ? Amateur..😂😂
@Rob Hater.
I've never see it done like that before! Interesting!
Friend of mine, Pete Jacobson (RIP), could do that but I’ve never seen anyone else pull that one off. That driver is a master.
Thanks, I thought he did quite well.
Around some of the best drivers.. Your very good.. Nice.
Nice.
THIS makes me want to take a dump.
When someone makes something look easy. It’s either that it’s easy to do, or the person is that good at doing it.
This dude is good!!
Roger that, I thought the same!
It was from Nolichucky Gravel by the way. And it was cheaper than any place around too. Good load of gravel and good people to buy it from.
Used to do this out of our 24' dump trailers. Good way to work back in over wet areas.
yep, works well. Not sure why so many people are griping about it.. The ground was super soft and we needed to do this, pretty simple..
This guy is the man
I agree! Thanks
Beautiful work
The good drivers spread in reverse, my dad was the best, very little raking if any
No doubt, it saved a lot of work with that super soft clay!!
That's an experienced aggregate hauler, my hat's off this guy is the master
Yes he came through for us on this one! That ground was super soft and slick! Thanks
Super driver, level 8,thanks
Thanks, he did great under the circumstances, especially since he had been retired for awhile already!!!
Now...that's a driver
Thats awesome. Saves allot of time
Need this dude to drop about 4 of those on my driveway, little back drag with the plow after and done
I bet you could use that! Most other people with gravel driveways too! LOL.
Use to do that with a 26' East dump trailer air dump suspension and air lock gate!!
Awesome! 👍
Wow, been in construction most of my life and never saw That!!! That guy has some skills!!!
Mike Rowe would be proud of that American!!!
Roger that!
Ive been doing the same thing for 55 years in Chicago.
Rodger that hopefully some people appreciate your skill :-)
This is easy with gravel etc. Flows nicely. It's earth and soil when u struggle
Very talented driver.
This guy is trucker tough, good equipment makes the difference also
I like the zip system they used on the house, way to pay the extra for protection from the elements
Agreed, well worth it! thanks
Kapper Outdoors ,where is this house built, looks like New England area
Very nicely done 👍
Tricks of the trade, bless the skills.
Roger that! thanks.
Very impressive
👏👏👏 this is for the driver
This is amazing.
Saved a whole lot of racking
He's good. REALLY GOOD!!!!
Nice thick pile
sure beat dumping it on one big pile.....
Legit tandem driver, wish we had those in Vancouver!
Lol I hear you! It seems like this is easy peasy in some parts of the country but in areas where drivers are few and far between it's not so easy to find good drivers.
That's what we dump drivers do. Just in a days work. I loved driving dump trucks..
When you don't dump it piles. But work that bad boy like this
He did it with such grace and decorum
Agreed! Thanks
Now that is a driver! Hope they bought him a case of beer.
You assume that he's a drinker? You shouldn't. ....
Nice THICK pile 👍
Wow amazing. Perfect lifting time the gravel pours out like soup.
Woooh. Almost turfed her on that speed hump. You can't rock like that the chains might lose their accuracy.
Unbelievable.
Now thats an operator.👍👍👍
When tipper door is opens like that is not not a big deal I think. ☺
Who needs a skid steer when you have a bad ass spread the load!!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
The skid steer prepared the ground before he got there....duh....
I got ready skidster for a driveway, dump gets out, tells me to shit it down. dumps my driveway within a few shovels of perfect. grade to compact to pour an hour. concrete drivers matter more.
That’s good shit right there! Some people are good with guitars, others with paint, others with metal, and so much more, but then there is the trucking family, and the select few of us who actually can really drive a truck with talent! “Brothers of the road!” Nice job bud!
Dang; I think he may have done better at that than I used to! Kudos!
IM a truck driver and this guy has to be better than most truck drivers i see
Good deal. Lots of folks seem to think this was an easy run.. Super soft, wet clay sinking down, reversing in towards a brand new home... I think he did well, thanks.
You have a good point its not easy it takes a lot of time and practice to do the job thank you for replying to my comment
NOW THATS A BAD BAD MAN!!! What THE WHAT!?! AWESOME job sir...crazy skill and time saved period
I thought so too!
Was that decomposed or pea gravel
It was 1 inch clean gravel.
Got it I appreciate
Cant train that. Nice job sir!!
Roger that! Thanks
So satisfying 🤗
Like a boss! This guy should be an instructor!!
Roger that!
That's how I used to spread for tar and chip. Our trucks spent more time going backwards than forward.
yep, in many situations it makes good sense! thanks.
Nice
Nice job I couldn't do it no better
Thanks man, appreciate it.
Sweet
Thats a better way of spreading it especially if that dirt was soft he can keep traction like that.
Exactly! Man the ruts we were making in that soft clay! But this worked out great! Thank you
This person is feeling the flow, there working it,positive thoughts lol lol lol
If only every truck could do this.
Good job Ive never seen anyone spread in reverse way to go
🔥🔥🔥 FANTASTIC VIDEO 🎉🎉🎉
Not all Hero's wear capes..
Boom! For sure
Beast
True pro.
Roger that.
Mack is a great truck for this. Several different reverse gears.
Right on! Sure worked well for this one!
Makes it look easy!
Because it is.
@@fomocowboy bet you couldn't do it. If you can. Upload a video of it
@@xReaperDen you'd lose your bet. I drove dump truck and pup for 7 years, learning to set chains and spread is day 1 shit. If I still drove dump truck I'd be happy to take video.
@@fomocowboy don't say you can't do anything then with no proof. As far as I'm concerned I've won because you admitted that you can't do it because you don't drive truck anymore. So unless you can prove you can do it with a video. You have lost all bets
@@xReaperDen oh no, I lost a youtube debate? I have no reason left to live....
Where's your video proving that it's hard? Also how long have you driven a dump truck?
Nice!!!!
I need some professional experience like this in my life.
