nice work. what percentage of drivers are willing to deliver like this (or least try) as part of standard delivery? I have a 8' x 80' driveway I carved out over soft powdery sand and ordered 2 truck loads of clay.. but will get a random driver. Clay is more economical and I was told would compact very well over soft white sand, but should I have gone with road base like this instead? It's almost drivable as is for regular cars. No skid skirt here so I see me possilby having to spread with a shovel and in a hurry.
Good question, for gravel it depends on the drivers experience and or comfort level as to whether or not they would be willing to attempt a drop spread like this. In my area we get alot or rain in the winter so clay would never be used for any sort of driveway. I don't see how a driver would be able to drop spread clay so I imagine you would have to spread it by other means.
@@keithpalle2307 Iron Mountain Quarry in Granite Falls classifies there five eights minus gravel three quarter minus the loaders always know what to grab if the drivers say 5/8 - best trucking job I've ever had driving dump truck 6 more years until retirement be safe be well peace out from Washington State
Looks like a bit got stuck in the RHS, otherwise it would have done the width of the body. It doesn't take much to block a tailgate especially when you have the chains tight.
I would agree if it was a high use driveway but this access is only rarely used and there was another load laid down after this making it about 6" thick so plenty of support for its intended use.
Should have drove in loosen your chains get your RPMs up there to get your bed up faster when you get your bed up faster your your Stone comes out more evenly
U should have broke the load 1st then dropped it down to 40 degrees then you would not have to lift the bed all the way up, good job on back dumping that’s the way it should be done
The roadbase was not wet at all, the chains were set a bit too snug to try and give it a cleaner drop, unfortunatially that can sometimes make coarser aggregates like this 3"- clog in spots.
That truck sounded so much like a chainsaw.
@TheScottGroupOC snokerr
Yeah, you’re right sort of like a Husqvarna
good film ,nice job ,specialist driver, greetings from dutch farmer and trucker.
Great work by the Tandem driver.
Driver got skills

Looked like a great place for geotextile under the rock.
Like watching grass grow. Idle time.👍👍

2 stroke dump truck
Good job
I never could get the hang of that.
It can be tricky for sure, set the chains tight, put it in low gear, line up and don't stop.
Had to that a lot for the Amish they thought if you could walk on it you could drive a twenty ton truck on it lol

That's just a good base start inch and a quarter minus or even 5/8 - after it is compacted well
Exactly, 3" minus and finish off with 3/4" minus.

Driveway was to narrow for the truck and the tailgate was a little bit too tight. But he did good for what he was working with.
Still Too Much Top Soil left on there !!- It'll squeeze through the stone in wet weather

@@keithpalle2307 it should be just fine as long as you dont drive dumptrucks on it in the wet....
Lets all drive on it when its wet!
They need a roller then add ANOTHER layer
Good way to twist off the box spreading backwards!!!
Wir hatten ein Fließ untergelegt,.da drückt sich der Schotter nicht in den Boden...
Good driver, took me some time to learn to drive slower, most guys hammer it for some reason…tighten the chains and slow down
with such a narrow driveway, how would the center ever be compacted when nothing will ever drive there? drum roller needed?
The lock all ways works on 3/4 crush. Try it without the lock on ump door
I just started doing this In my dump truck
It can be tricky but its awesome when it works out!
very good 👍

All Rhodes lead to Crimea, the machines take the heavy lifting to a minimum
Nice
3inch then A stone
Should have taken more top soil out
I don't understand why people don't add geo textile fabric. That stone will be gone in 6 months
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
I would have put it on top.
Looks like the truck got stuck right when tje camera stopped lol
Nope, he stopped to finish emptying the box.
just like you planned it !!!!
could have stopped at the gate for a minute to drop enuf to make an apron
