After eleven years of photography with my Canon EOS M, I decided to install the ML Crop Mood App on my camera. After a few days of experimenting with this app, I'm slowly discovering the great possibilities of this configuration. Your video is very helpful in my next step in the editing process and understanding color grading between MLV app and DaVinci Resolve. I liked your first steps in filmmaking and your editing technique as a teenager. I remembered my first steps... I subscribed to your channel
One of the best explained videos I've found so far, at a pace that gives you a chance to absorb more information without making your brain go into overload mode.👍. What picture profile on your camera do you use for best results.
thinking about switching back to Magic Lantern. help. i use to have ML on 70d and Mark III in the past. loved the auto focus of course on the 70d. i have a fuji xt3 right now and im trying to think if i want to go back to ML. maybe get a couple 700d. xt3 has great 4k. 120 slow mo in 1080. dont know if i want to go through workflow. i think the files would be smaller on ML system.
Hi, You forgot to mention that in colormanagement the timeline color space should be Davinci Wide Gamut. As Raw input instead of black magic film I use Rec 709 srgb because that's where it was shot on. The black magic film makes the color to yellow or brownish. greetings
I did a quick side-by-side with no settings changed, the settings I use and the settings you reccommend and it seems that when exporting to CDNG (raw), nothing except the debayer algorithm makes a difference in how the image looks when imported into resolve (tested with 5d III footage on W10, app version 1.14, Resolve 18.5)
@@TheFilmmakingChannel If you export as prores, something like temperature, chroma smoothing matters. But I don't believe it makes a difference when exporting to raw.
Boas Nuno. Antes de mais, parabéns pelo teu trabalho. Já tive uma Canon M com ML que vendi. Arrependi-Me e agora tenho uma 700d. Podias partilhar os teus settings de ML comigo? Abraço
HELLO, THANK YOU FOR YOUR VIDEO, A FEW TECHNICAL QUESTIONS: ON 128 SD CARDS, HOW MANY MINUTES DOES IT ALLOW YOU TO RECORD IN RAW MLV? AND CAN YOU SEE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN A NORMAL FULLHD VIDEO WITH MAGIC LANTERN PLUS CINESTYLE SCALED TO 4K AND ANOTHER RECORDED WITH CROP MOOD IN RAW 5.2K 14 BITS? (IN THEORY THERE SHOULD BE USEFUL DIFFERENCES FOR COLOR CORRECTION, THE QUESTION IS IF THEY CAN BE PERSICIOUS IN THE VISUALIZATION? OR IF THE DIFFERENCES CAN BE NOTICED IN COLOR GRADING IN DAVINCI RESOLVE? AS OF NOW, THANK YOU FOR THE ANSWER IS THE MAGIC LANTERN UPDATE DONE IN THE SAME WAY AS THE INSTALLATION?
Hello. If you record in 10 bit or higher you'll always have no issues in grading. With a 128GB card I get around 20mns a bit less, recoring in 4.2K 16:9 12 bit. Depends on the mode you record in. If you can get a 256GB or 500GB card. The Crop Mood is just like installing Magic Lantern. So if you already have it installed you must first uninstall the old version and then you can install Crop Mood. Hope that helps 😊
It's a hobby plus the new Crop Mood is amazing. Magic Lantern is much better now. I appreciate the sentiment but it's down to being a hobby for me and I enjoy it. Thanks for watching 😁
Nice workflow! I have a question. I use the Alexa LogC profile when exporting from the MLVapp. How would the Color Space transform settings be on the input and output nodes? *Input Node* Input Color Space: Arri Wide Gamut3 Gamma: Arri LogC3 Output Color Space: Davinci Wide Gamut Gamma Output: Davinci Intermediate *Output Node* Input Color Space: Davinci Wide Gamut Gamma: Davinci Intermediate Output Color Space: Rec.709 Gamma Output: Gamma 2.4 Is that correct? And the creative LUTs that I add between the Input and Output could be Arri gamma? I loved your video, I hope you can help me.
I've been struggling with magic lantern files, you helped me a lot. Thank you!

Great tutorial. Exactly what I was looking for.
Thank you. Glad I could help 😊

Thank You So much. I'm Glad to Find this information Now Very Early in my Career. I just Calibrated my ViewSonic and got a Eos-M camera. Woo Hoo.
Do i have to change the aspect rationof my footage in Resolve? When I threw it in, it shows up as 4:3
Muito obrigado, resumiu tudo muito bem, principalmente a parte de espaço de cor, sempre ficava perdido nessa parte, você é fera parabéns!

Do you mean as opposed to exporting in what format? The main benefit of CDNG is that it's RAW and the best format to color grade. That's why I use it.

My raw file video can’t open mlv all how to edit my video
Boas Nuno.

Olá! Muito obrigado. Eu uso o Crop Mood em 1x3 4.2K 12 Bit. É, no meu caso, o modo mais estável.

difícil ver alguém falando sobre este a sunto parabéns
Pero Uncompressed da mejor calidad que Lossless, ¿Verdad?
Y qué recomiendas más:
A) Sony a7S II, 8 Bit XAVC-S
B) Canon 700D, 14 Bit RAW
?
Homie hate to say it but buy a new camera. I was doing this like 10+ years ago. Watching you go through this felt like trauma ha

Does it really matter about the camera, the video is all about mlv and for us newbs we don't care about the camera used.
Nice workflow! I have a question. I use the Alexa LogC profile when exporting from the MLVapp. How would the Color Space transform settings be on the input and output nodes?
*Input Node*
Input Color Space: Arri Wide Gamut3
Gamma: Arri LogC3
Output Color Space: Davinci Wide Gamut
Gamma Output: Davinci Intermediate
*Output Node*
Input Color Space: Davinci Wide Gamut

Output Color Space: Rec.709
Gamma Output: Gamma 2.4
Is that correct? And the creative LUTs that I add between the Input and Output could be Arri gamma?
I loved your video, I hope you can help me.
