Master Class! Excellent, been using DR for 3 years and picked up so many tips here (delete/backspace, chroma key, transform icon, planar tracker, export current frame as still all new to me). Thanks Daniel and Storyblocks.
I have to say, your tutorial videos are very easy to follow. You teach it as someone who recently learned it completely so you understand how much confusion laymen go through trying to follow tutorials by experts. I feel like most tutorials people post are almost like a flex for them, like "look how good I am at editing videos". Like the thing you said about shift+spacebar. I remember seeing it in a video, and then when I'm trying what I learned from the video I'm like "what the heck was that button combination again?" then I have to look them up, nobody explains what you're actually doing. Your videos are great man, they're like "Davinci Resolve for Dummies" and I love it. Keep em coming, and I'll keep watching them.
Daniel, that other place's big loss is our big gain. Have not done much with fusion yet. I am working on it. I get a kick out you and your overall style and teaching. Thank you!
I just want to say how much I enjoy your tutorials and I learn so much from them. Thank you so much. Also, as a fellow guitar player, I love the analogies you use to explain how the nodes (effects pedals) of a fusion composition connect together, and how they alter the output (the sound coming out of the amplifier). Great stuff! Please keep up your awesome work.
Love your videos, so easy to follow! Thanks for the last final tidbit of info re the thumbnail. You have no idea how long I've been searching for a QUICK and EASY way to do this!!! You're so right, there are many ways to do things in Davinci Resolve and thanks to people your yourself I'm constantly learning. Fusion is becoming less and less scary as I learn more about it. Keep up the great work.
I love your way of teaching and I am happy that YT once recommended a video about a cutting software that might not be mentioned. You are a rock star. You really are. :)

Your way of telling is really good, i mean you actually tell us how this features works what are there uses. unlike the others.. Do that click hare select hare and done, just copy paste. Really great job sir we really appreciated.
I appreciate the way that you instruct DaVinci Resolve in layman‘s terms. Very helpful and makes it easy for me to follow. Helps out my channel a lot. Thanks, keep up the good work.
Tracker or Planar tracker are used for fighter jet weapons systems where the goal is to lock onto an aircraft and track it in the sky. If I'm not mistaken. Awesome and fun trick, well explained and easy to understand.
Holy Crap Daniel what a great quick one for fission in DR.....awesome JOB ! By the way, glad to see ya on. Was getting a bit worried not seeing much videos released lately from you 🤠
That was Gold, Daniel! I'd love to see you do a part 2 to this where, you zoom in on the laptop and that becomes the full screen and readjusts the roll of the video e.g. back to the correct degrees, through the use of key frames, all in a smooth and fluid transition. Great anology with the guitar / distortion peddle with regards to the nodes!
I actually did a video a while back covering keyframing in DR. People seem less enthused about learning those techniques which is funny considering how important they are to most edits 🤷♂️ th-cam.com/video/p1KRLgHw8LY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=NBMbtTPF8eNmIqCL

This is such a good video for a beginner to DR like me. I now know how to chroma key (delta keyer) and how to (planer track/transform). Additionally, I have a better understanding of how to get around the fusion page and how I join timeline clips together to create a fusion clip. Oh, and I now know how to create a still from the edit page. I had been doing this via the colour page until now - your way is much easier. There is so much in this video that I can take away and practice in a way that I can relate to my projects. Your videos not only give practical advice but also provide inspiration. Please can we have more of this type of content (I appreciate the time you take to put all this together by the way). Thanks very much. Tim
Thanks, Tim. In your defense, the only gave us the ability to grab a still from the Edit page recently. Doing it in the color page is still viable. There's no wrong way to do things, just whatever makes sense to you.

Daniel, you make learning Da Vinci a pleasure! I also like your amp and effects references, being an old rocker 😂 Storyblocks looks really useful.. I wonder if they have a "small user" deal. Keep up the good work. Merry Christmas from Stuart, a UK fan.
Dude. You rock 🤘🏽 Another stellar content! 💖 Re: the strange names and terminologies that seemed to have ticked you off a bit 😂 (planar, translation, transform, etc.), just want to point out that these are actual image processing and computer vision terms that means something precisely specific. Planar means a 2D space (image data), translation simply means the motion of an image is left-right/up-down but not rotational which could involve angular shift (like the manual angle change you did at the beginning). So if the laptop in Santa's hand were to also rotate, then the planar translation alone wouldn't have done the job. Just thought I'd point that out. Keep up the good work! And it's mind boggling to me as an engineer that so much advanced computer vision techniques are available with a few clicks in Davinci! This tool is way underpriced even at its full price!
Wow! I really want to learn Davinci. I downloaded it and tried for a day. Got so frustrated I uninstalled. 😂 You make it look so easy. Im going to have to try again. I used all you tutorials for Filmora and gotten pretty good so Im sure with your help ill figure this out. Thanks brother.
This is awesome, thank you and yeah, I have not touched fusion because all the names are confusing, the process seems very sloppy, I hope to get it one day, but this is a great video, thank you, Damn Tracker/Transforms. Your peddle explanation was great too.
It all makes sense but I swear, the software is SO high functioning that you need to know way too many feature names and functions simultaneously. Trying to simplify that, Iggy
Such a wonderful teacher. Would love to know how you have OBS Studio setup, which I'm assuming you are using. I'm just not happy with the tutorials for it I keep running across by creators who don't even look at, let alone respond to comments. But you are obviously busy doing fantastic content on Resolve, so no hurry.
I don't use OBS. I actually hate OBS because it's overly complicated and quickly becoming replaced with better paid options. When it comes to screen capture, I mostly use Bandicam. For live streaming, I use StreamYard.
It's a great idea. I've thought about it but I give away a lot for free right here on TH-cam. Maybe I'll try to create a more focused course as I get better with the software. I'm still a Noob too!
Hey Pal: Love your thumbnail! And I like how you include something funny in your intro. Smart. Can you share the prompt you used to make your thumb? Thx.
Thank you Daniel for another insightful lesson. May u request you to show us how to do a map animation, like the ine you did in Filmora many years ago. Also another lesson in hiw to make an introduction to a travel vlog. Thanks in anticipation
Very good Daniel... One advise: You dont need to stay around with the Planar Tracker after Planar transform is created. All we need the Planar transform node. Actually all we need a data set for the movement of the laptop which is already stored in planar transform. We can delete the tracker after creating the planar transform. Trust me, it won't affect anything plus relieves your computer from stress while compiling the video with effects.
Thanks for the video. You’re informative and entertaining too! 😊 can you put Christmas lights around the monitor? I guess you’d need a plug in or to create an animation in toonsquid or some other anim app
What a great tutorial! If I may - they call it a Planar Tracker because it'll track a plane in your frame. I use this all the time to track my logo to something in the background [and then combine it with Magic Mask so it really feels like it's in the background and if I wave my hands around, they obscure the logo]. I know the names are weird and they don't all make sense - I just know THAT one :D Also, I like how you show several ways to get things done [drag & drop in-line with the SHIFT key to add a node in-line, unlinking clips to easily select audio or video]. This is the neat thing - you're right, Resolve gives you a multitude of ways to get each thing done, all up to personal preference. I like to hold ALT when clicking on an audio or video clip to temporarily disconnect it from the other, which for me works faster than unlinking first. Love it! Your teaching method could NOT be easier to follow - and I watch a lot of Resolve tutorials. Can't wait to see what you do a how-to on next :D
I think the words DaVinci uses is to control Intellectual property of their product. It also builds a unique DaVinci / Blackmagic “ dialect and or culture. May also be related to translation to other languages. Some words in English have many actual definitions!
They make me laugh. It must be something in their Aussie mentality. Same reason they called the company Blackmagic Design instead of Black Magic Design. 😜
I was hoping there was a discount or free months with your link for storyblocks. I use artist right now for my music and was weighing the option if story blocks could be a one stop shop for me.
As one Daniel to another Daniel, coming from Avid & FCP, all you say makes sense. I'm about to purchase the Studio version to make the switch, but only wish to have the Davinci Resolve program on my hard drive and create a folder/folders on a portable drive to store everything else ie auto save, renders and anything else created by Resolve. Do you have a video explaining how to set all this up and if not, would you consider making one? Thanks for all your videos and your assistance with this matter. Also, how do you set up Studio to utilize greater GPU's for enhanced speed. With great appreciation for your advice . . . Happy New Year!
I don’t but that’s a good suggestion. Instead of saving a project externally, you can “Archive” it externally instead. That will save the entire project with all the assets and settings as a simple .dra (DaVinci Resolve Archive) file type
Hi, Daniel it was a really useful video as I was migrating from Premium Pro to da Vinci, but instead of using colour correction node can't we correct clip in color tab?
There are LOTS of ways to do things in Resolve! If you’re really interested in the Color Page, definitely start here --> th-cam.com/video/SkosqJfzEs0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Tv39zNv6C70gPOGB
Hello. I would like to learn to use Davinci and fusion. Is it possible to use fusion on a laptop? If so what specifications would be needed to run it without crashing or lagging too much?
Here you go. You’ll want to meet or exceed the recommended (not minimum) system requirements--> motionarray.com/learn/davinci-resolve/davinci-resolve-system-requirements/
@@Daniel_Batal Thanks a lot! Very informative. I've had my eye on a MacBook pro M2, but I've only managed to find the 512 GB SSD versión. The 1Tera version apparently would be a huge improvement for video editing. But of course the wallet would hurt a lot more as well.
Anything 'planar' describes the quality of being a plane. In geometry, a plane is a flat two-dimensional surface that extends in all directions to infinity. The laptop screen is such a plane, so Resolve has its 'planar tracker.' Kicka$$ DaVinci for Noobs stuff, BTW. My first project was a 2-hr clip show. After an hour of your Noobs prods, I had all the knowledge I needed to rip out my own prod. Thanks!
I know what planar means. It’s just silly to have one feature named tracker and another called a planar tracker. They both track movement along some sort of perspective plane now don’t they. 😁
We spend a lot of time in pre-production making sure we know what we’re filming, what shots we need and how to film them. That makes our post production a lot more efficient
Good day sir I found your channel very helpful for us, could it be possible for you to do tutorials like how to do different editing styles like Alex Hormozi, Ali Abdaal and some famous editing styles? thank you so much in advance 😊
Not a bad suggestion. I've actually done three different video breakdowns from major TH-camrs but that series didn't really catch on. th-cam.com/play/PLsVDy3wGxbDD-RIfEdb-Vl7D8BJMu0Tcj.html&si=CTuj2ap9_N83aZc6
Yeah, but should the distortion pedal be before or after the amp, and what brand of batteries should you use? And does the direction of the cable matter? :P
Hello Daniel. Thanks for this video. Unfortunately, I have a slightly different challenge. I want to make a car license plate unrecognizable. How can I best do that? I came a long way with this video, but in the end I didn't succeed. Thank you in advance for your response. Greetings, Onno.
Maybe to help you understand what they were thinking. The *Tracker* creates the motion data and the *Transform* applies the motion data. Planar refers to the 2D aspects of the object that you're dealing with.
The combination would have probobly helped with my last video. Still experimenting with the fusion page as i want to learn how it really works. That and get better at keyframing in the fusion page

Your hair are like your videos. Amazing
😅
You can do it!
You should have your own website with tutorials for purchase, if you haven't done that already. Great stuff, thanks for your efforts!
It's a great idea. I've thought about it but I give away a lot for free right here on TH-cam.
Maybe I'll try to create a more focused course as I get better with the software.
I'm still a Noob too!
Brilliant as always ❤
Thank you so much 😀
Hey Pal:
Love your thumbnail! And I like how you include something funny in your intro. Smart.
Can you share the prompt you used to make your thumb?
Thx.
Unfortunately I don’t save them and this was reworked in Photoshop
@@Daniel_Batal thx anyways. Happy new year in advance
You too, pal!
I'm glad to see you making DaVinci resolve videos ❤
More to come!
Thank you Daniel for another insightful lesson. May u request you to show us how to do a map animation, like the ine you did in Filmora many years ago. Also another lesson in hiw to make an introduction to a travel vlog. Thanks in anticipation
Great suggestion!
Best Resolve tutorials on the web… thx man…
☮️❤️
Breath of fresh air. Thanks Daniel!
My pleasure!
Thank God for Daniel Batal! peace
✌️☮️
Very good Daniel...
One advise: You dont need to stay around with the Planar Tracker after Planar transform is created. All we need the Planar transform node. Actually all we need a data set for the movement of the laptop which is already stored in planar transform. We can delete the tracker after creating the planar transform. Trust me, it won't affect anything plus relieves your computer from stress while compiling the video with effects.
Gatekeeper alert ‼️ 🔔
Great tutorial with easy explanations. Thanks 🙏
Glad it was helpful!
Your tutorials rocks Daniel thanks
Glad you like them!
Thanks for the video. You’re informative and entertaining too! 😊 can you put Christmas lights around the monitor? I guess you’d need a plug in or to create an animation in toonsquid or some other anim app
Ha! Yes you can! A little effort can make that happen
@@Daniel_Batal my bf still uses movie maker on his windows xp. Lol
What a great tutorial! If I may - they call it a Planar Tracker because it'll track a plane in your frame. I use this all the time to track my logo to something in the background [and then combine it with Magic Mask so it really feels like it's in the background and if I wave my hands around, they obscure the logo]. I know the names are weird and they don't all make sense - I just know THAT one :D
Also, I like how you show several ways to get things done [drag & drop in-line with the SHIFT key to add a node in-line, unlinking clips to easily select audio or video].
Thanks!
well done Daniel! thank You
I think the words DaVinci uses is to control Intellectual property of their product.
Very well explained!
Glad you think so!
I was hoping there was a discount or free months with your link for storyblocks. I use artist right now for my music and was weighing the option if story blocks could be a one stop shop for me.
They haven't offered me one to date but I'll definitely ask the next time I speak with their rep. See if we can hook the community up.
Amazing. Thanks for this tutorial!
My pleasure. Hope this was helpful at making Fusion a little less confusing
Great training. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Well explained and detailed thanks 🙏
Daniel, Love your videos. Where can I download the Free software without all the add-ons?

The laptop screen is such a plane, so Resolve has its 'planar tracker.'
Kicka$$ DaVinci for Noobs stuff, BTW.
@@Daniel_Batal Yeah dude. You actually pointed out in this video (I think) that there are a million ways to skin the DaVinci cat.
So true!
Hello great video information Daniel
Hey thanks! Much appreciated.
OG Daniel B video fo sho!
Thank you, kind sir!
great little video love to try this software im still using that filmora until my computer gives up
Use what works for YOU!
Look at you Mr. Spielberg here. 😂😂
It’s been cool watching your journey into Resolve over the past months.
Much appreciated 👊😎☮️
7:41 I wondered how you did the timing for stuff like that. I immediately thot of just watching the video as you are making your part
I've actually done three different video breakdowns from major TH-camrs but that series didn't really catch on. th-cam.com/play/PLsVDy3wGxbDD-RIfEdb-Vl7D8BJMu0Tcj.html&si=CTuj2ap9_N83aZc6
make a video about how you are making arrows to show something, and how to draw perfect circle, and how to zoom properly to show something
Done -> th-cam.com/users/shortsIujCG4KPqxY?si=J4nYHSRMqkwzEP4g
And Done! --> th-cam.com/video/p1KRLgHw8LY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=cZzC8zflGSsiJ7Ve
Yeah, but should the distortion pedal be before or after the amp, and what brand of batteries should you use? And does the direction of the cable matter? :P
Dammit... I should have used an effects loop after the preamp but before the power tubes!
@@Daniel_Batal Haha!
Hello Daniel. Thanks for this video. Unfortunately, I have a slightly different challenge. I want to make a car license plate unrecognizable. How can I best do that? I came a long way with this video, but in the end I didn't succeed. Thank you in advance for your response. Greetings, Onno.
There’s a lot of ways to accomplish that.
I’ll make a note to cover that in an upcoming video.
@@Daniel_Batal Thanks Daniel.
Maybe to help you understand what they were thinking. The *Tracker* creates the motion data and the *Transform* applies the motion data. Planar refers to the 2D aspects of the object that you're dealing with.
Yeah, I know.
It’s just presented in a more complicated manner than I think most new users can digest.
Trying to keep it fun & light ☮️
Love you daniel, you are so cool
Love back atcha! ❤️
Wow, thanks Daniel.
No worries!
Thanks a Million! Sir!
You are welcome!
Daniel makes Davinci a lot less confusing
❤️
The combination would have probobly helped with my last video. Still experimenting with the fusion page as i want to learn how it really works. That and get better at keyframing in the fusion page
Fusion page is a beast, for sure
