    Door closing sound is essential for the german market. Originated by Mercedes Benz ages ago.

    • @gvaley
      @gvaley ปีที่แล้ว

      I recently attended an auto show and paid special attention to how doors closed on the different brands. All Japanese brands I tried have light, flappy doors that you can literally see vibrating in the upper region after closing. From the European brands, even the budget-orientated Skoda had PERFECT closing. And the door is mutch heavier. Reason? Japanese save from sturdiness and noise insulation. Also the hinges feel cheep on their cars. Having said that, it's up to you to decide whether that's important to you or not. Personally, I've found out through experience that the rest of a Japanese car is built the same way and I stay away from them after owning one. What I'm trying to say is that Mercedes didn't start the sound; it started impeccable build quality. The sound is a welcome consequence.

    • @t0n4us
      @t0n4us ปีที่แล้ว

      My aunt is always opening and closing doors on new cars and rates them by the sound alone.
      It’s a weird measure but stood for quality a long time ago.
      Today cars have become lighter and crash optimised so it’s just a good fake of the original sound people are listening for.

    I'm so impressed by the Model Y. I've bought the Ioniq 5 last year and will stick with it for some time, but if I'd have to choose over again I'd go Tesla. There are quite a few things about the Ioniq 5 that nag me: not built to max efficiency, some weird space wasting design choices, no OTA for everything, no route planning with charge stops, no mobile key, annoying little vibrations and noises, and I can keep going on. It's still a good car and will travel relatively fast, but it will use way more kWh than the Tesla. And the Tesla is even bigger with way more space. Yes, it's also a lot more expensive and that was one of the reasons I chose the Ioniq 5. The other was that the Model Y wasn't available yet to order in Holland at the time I ordered.

    • @mariuspettersen3255
      @mariuspettersen3255 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Navigation-heating is coming with the new models, its using 260 average on this trip vs 230 on tesla model y ( not much, and in lower speeds its just as good), and the ride comfort is night and day vs tesla model y (in favour of ioniq 5 ofc), and charge speeds is higher on Ioniq5..in my personal opinion, the ioniq 5 is much more of a car than model y.. yes the y is a little faster, for now, until the ioniq 5 N comes...

    • @larss3903
      @larss3903 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I would actually be interesting if you kept going on. It would be great to understand what else the Ionic is lacking, Its not so often we hear about that.

    • @larss3903
      @larss3903 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mariuspettersen3255 The navigation is not about preheating battery (but that is also a large bummer from Hyundai). The problem are that Ionic does not include charging stop in the navigation. And it is SUCH a great thing just to put in an address and then the car will tell you where to how, how long you need to charge (and change it dynamically). Also its really a big thing that Ionic does not tell you how many KM you have left when you reach a destination. 13% was on Performance 21" wheel. And 13% is actually a lot. Its 65 km extra, its more electricity (and co2) and its 13" difference in charging speed. And with smaller wheels its even more.
      For the charge speed, Ionic does charge slow when cold (will be fixed)and it also charge slow on 400V chargers. And even when it charge fast the KM / min charging is usually not faster than the model Y - because of the efficiency. Look at motor.no and see how any KM you gain example 20 min charging. When charging to more than 60% the Ionic is for sure faster than Tesla. But look at exactly the 1000 km trip, that shows the combination of charging speed and efficiency..
      I really don't understand why model why is "not a car". It is better on almost all point than Ionic 5 and bilgyno just pointed out his own experience.
      However, Ionic 5 is indeed a really good car and it deliver maksimum value for the money. Its a really, really good deal. Its just not a better car than Model Y, on the other hand Model Y is not really worth the extra money - unless you want to pay a lot extra for very little extra.

    • @mariuspettersen3255
      @mariuspettersen3255 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rogerstarkey5390 true, they have to fix the throttling/overheating when charging.. yes, tesla is more efficient and the ioniq 5 N would be even more thirsty than the no-N version..but still, costwise the efficiency of the tesla over the ioniq5 will not make up the higher salesprice of the tesla(home charging)..so it really comes down to range which favours the Y.. for long trips it wont matter bacause of the chargespeed difference anyways.. but thats my opinion ;)

    I have the model y performance on 19" inch summer wheels. For me it is the perfect blend of the long range and the performance, comfort-wise. Got me thinking: What kind of mileage are would we get on a performance model with 19" rims? Yes, its got a thirstier rear motor, but the whole car has lower suspension, giving it less drag than a long range model. Bjørn, you can borrow my car to find out, if you wanna:) (Høybråten, Oslo:)

    Before you start the 1000 km challenge you set the charge capacity of the battery to 100% i.e. it is the only time you charge at full capacity. Once you start the travel, you charge what you need.
    Q: do you change the limit battery charging capacity ? let say to 60 or 80% instead of 100%? can this affect the charging speed in the rest of the sessions? is that makes sense?
