For the misfire, some things to check out are plugs, coil packs, injectors, and compression. You can try switching them around between cylinders to see if the misfire follows and then pinpoint what’s failing. Just did my plugs today and can confirm it’s a pain and a half lol
If it’s miss firing at idle it’s a fuel issue. And a flashing check engine light is usually an emission issue. Maybe it’s running rich and causing some fuel to leak into the catalytic converters.
I had that problem in my Audi all I had to do was replace the coil for cylinder 6 but I’d recommend to just replace all so they all fire up the same sending the same amount of spark to the spark plugs

I love it . It’s got a nice aggressive deep tone without too much drone. Not overly loud or obnoxious but still a nice tone which will turn heads . That’s just my opinion I don’t want a loud exhaust though . I can’t find a sound I like for my brz (when it arrives ) but I do like this 😀 cheers
For the misfire issue I would try to find a workshop camera even if it’s borrowed maybe autozone may have them for rent, remove the spark plug from cylinder 3, and check for cracks, metal deposits, valve sitting, it’s the easiest way to check for your self if it is superficial damage or internal, other wise you’d have to pull all the spark plugs and cross check compression across all cylinders and see if it in fact has lower compression best of wishes🤞

I like it. Headers will raise the volume just a bit. I’d like if you made this build OEM+ = every build doesn’t have to be as extreme as the FRS. Nice quality sound- not blaring loud

I love that the car continues to be in production but imo the spoiler on the newer ones is hideous. The 2013 limited stock spoiler is perfect and they didn’t need to do anything to It.

Happen to me while I was flooring it and notice my car bogging and bam check engine light but mine was a solid light and got cylinder 2 misfire. So I change all my spark plug and coil packs. I can confirm it is a huge pain to replace but after you get use to doing the first two it’s a breeze. The easiest side is the passenger side . You can also raise the engine up a little for a little but clearance also
If you blew the motor you would know you did (I would know, I've blown 2 motors) . Could come back to what you've already mentioned. Spark plugs, coil packs, injectors, even check the fuel pump.
What wheels do you have on your brz? I want to get those on my GR86. Also, was it ok at 70 mph? It’s my daily so I don’t want a drowning noise on the Highway
Had that happen to me when i accidentally shifted from 3rd to 1st and it redlined so hard that the check engine light started flashing and it would not let me go past 20 MPH driving from Huntington Beach to East LA. And i had my hazards on the whole time. Nothing to worry about. Just change my Ignition Coil Pack and went back to normal

How is the drone in the cabin? Sounds really solid for just a cat-back. My old 16' BRZ had a N1 catback with UEL headers, sounded sick but long drives were tiring lmao.
I have the polished tip MXP COMP-RS on my ‘13 FRS and love the way the car sounds. I live close to a police station where cops are common during my daily commute so currently on the stock header. Car is already loud for me with just the exhaust so could only imagine adding a header. But can’t wait to hear how the Tomei header sounds paired with the COMP-RS. Maybe it’ll get me to risk it all. 😏
I’ve had this before spark plugs could be it better to be safe than sorry but definitely gonna need to change the ignition coil, usually it’s the 3rd Cylinder and 1st that do this but don’t drive the car or rev the car especially if it’s a flashing check engine

Switch 3 with 4 and see if it changes if it does you have a bad coil

I had same thing with cylinder 3. Common occurrence is bad coil pack with boosted twins apparently.
