    I've been checking out some of these videos on making an organizer for my 5" orbital and this one i really like. I'll make some changes but not many and maybe a add on or two. I've been doing woodwork for over 60 years now and love it being self thought. You made a really good organizer that's why I'm going to build one for myself. Thank you for sharing. Joe

      Hi Joe, thanks so much for watching! I’m glad you enjoyed the project. Now that I’m in my new shop I’m going to be making a new one.

    Like it and having the dowels gives a quick method of attaching the disks. Usually that takes time to get straight

    just picked up a new sander and watched a few other builds. . but I came back to yours, after you flipped the disk and loaded a new pad without thinking of the holes. . WELL BANG! that sold me. . and the price was right too! I tinker with sketchup and replicated it in a quick minute, since i wanted a bit bigger on the bottom slot. TY for the work you put in Brother!

    I need to make one of these . I like the removable shelves , but I think I'll omit the dowels. Nice job .

      Thanks very much! Only reason I have the dowels there is to keep the disks from falling off the trays when I am moving them around.

      The dowels also help line up the paper on the sander. That's the best part of the whole design, in my book.

      The dowels also help to keep the discs from curling with humidity changes. I was thinking I might add a third (Houston humidity is the worst!). LOL!

      @@barnyardkh4 I went with two just in case I end up switching to a FESTOOL Rotex 150. Having only two dowels will ensure that when switching to the different brand of sanding disks, I will still be able to use the dowels.

      @@TwoBitWoodworks I'm too cheap to buy a Festool! Lol!

    I was going to suggest loading all the disks upside down for quicker placement on the sander.
    Nice build

    • @TwoBitWoodworks
      @TwoBitWoodworks  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I initially put them in grit side up, then changed my mind so that I could just put the sander down and line up the holes perfectly. A lot easier set up.

    A great build and a useful one for the disc papers, me i would print off the sizes and stick them on rather than write it in, but thats me fussy ha ha ha.
    I did try and get the plans seeing as they were free, but it wouldn't let me have them as i live in the UK and not Canada or the US.
    Still, it's a great idea and i did see something similar that Steve Ramsey did years ago.

    Was watching the video and thinking, "Why add the dowels? If I want to grab a sheet / disc, i need to remove the shelf, blah blah. THEN I saw how you had flipped the discs and just dropped the sander down and it was the AHA moment. Nice work.
    I live in Portugal so wouold appreciate it if you would send me a set of the plans for this build. Will leave a message on the website as you suggest below. THANKS
