  • Hi there,
2020 was supposed to be the start-up of my own vinyl wrap business but things got a bit complicated by this little "bugger" who runs the world right now...
So I decided to use he time and prep my car for a vinyl wrap but my ride has some serious paint issues.
In order to be able to put vinyl on I have to adress this problems and fix them.
Since I am not a body work specialist it is a kind of experiment and I do what I think makes sense and hope this works as expected.
Maybe it is helpful for others or just interesting to see the transformation.
This is also my first time making a video therefore I am also thankful for any tips and comments in this regard :)
    Hope you enjoy it

watched your tutorial on how to wrap a round object, that by far was the best video i have seen on this subject, thank-you

Same as Santiago, watched you wrapping a mouse and thought that was the best tutorial, hands down, on how to wrap this type of object. Your detailed comments along the way on exactly how and why you were doing what you were doing are gold. These gems are not just for small objects but larger projects as well. You should have way more subscribers than you do and that's just mind boggling? Also was hoping to comment on that vid, but comments are turned off? I have a feeling trollers have left their mark and you decided to put the brakes on. I may be way off base, but I'd love to see more content from you as you are a great teacher and should not stay in the dark. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

Thank you so much. And even more for letting me know that the comments were turned off. It was not me, it seems for whatever reason they were turned off by TH-cam.
Took me a moment to find the settings and turn them on again. (hopefully)
I am planning to do more of those videos and improve my cinematic skills ;) It was a bit of a crazy year but I am finally getting time again to dive back into recording while working.

Hi hows it coming along? My Acura is the same, I have a 2004 acura tl, same clean coat peeling issue keeping me from wrapping it.

Actually I am starting to wrap this week :) At least that is the plan, waiting for the material.
I am working on the second video, to show how it looks like now and all the work I have done.
I am very confident that the surface is now good for vinyl.

@@vinyl-witch can't wait, I'm debating on a good spray can paintjob, or vinyl wrap lol, I can pull off a good looking spray can job but I'd rather start with a nice finish than wet sand buff and polish

@@timborice22 Just for you before the next videos. So far it works very well but I have two spots where I sanded down to the primer. I left those spots and did not spray over with my enamel and it bit me in the ass.
The original metallic flake in this area lifts off when repositioning the material.

@@vinyl-witch so, I'm thinking, sand everything with 600 and hit the weak spots with primer and paint then sand everything again with 800 or higher before wrapping....or, I can sand everything, and paint everything, then if I cant get it good, wrap it up lol. Hope you can get it to look good for you, at the end of the day it's your car and you did the work, if it looks better than before, it's a win.
