- I Feel Bad for Wright....His Peoples Hernandez Should be one of the Classic Villains! Word is bond. Had he only ended up in a better movie! So,Heres 6 Min.of The Man... He is basically the reason you should watch SHAFT. A Latino actor who surprised us all by being a black man! Now thats Acting.hehe:) Hes funny, arrogant,He shows selfrestrain,He goes Mental,He loves baseball, golf and his younger brother.. And have to deal with the fact that he might control ´n rule HIS kingdom, but when he steps out of it,he´s judged in silence and seen as a common thug. This makes 4 a potentally complex Bad Guy,And Wright just...does everything right! !! PEOPLES LIVES

Jeffery Wright = Most underrated actor in Hollywood
Jeremy Last .....I agree
I approve this message
Jeremy Last peoples >Batman
I usually don't buy into the "most underrated (fill in blank)" comment on TH-cam. But in this case, I have to agree. Jeffrey Wright is the most underrated actor of the 2000s for sure!
I agree 100%
I had a hard time believing Jeffrey Wright wasn't Dominican or Hispanic watching this movie. He did an amazing job with the accent and mannerisms. He outacted everyone else!
hands down his greatest. then he did basquiat after smh
Is he mixed? My mom loved his accent wen I was a kid. I thought a was Dominican too 😂😂
@@jameyirby3109 He's African-American.
@@NAJILifebefore
@@warprimeminister gratzi
Me as a Dominican, well must say that he did the best Dominican-York accent and character development ever. 😂
It’s like if he had lived in Washington Heights for a whole year and hanged out with nothing but Dominicans. That’s how good he was!
jsphat81 right right! 😂 He’s a mangú con salami homie. 😂
That's dominican? I thought that was mexican. I don't even wana think abouu it, why we all acting like a funeral here? 😁
@@mainiotaainetta Dominican, dear. I know my people. In the movie he is supposed to be Dominican, it is said in the movie even. And the accents gives it away, different to Puertorican accent too. Plus that term of "loco", it's a common Dominican slang like saying dude even though "loco" translates to crazy. 😂
@@AnGeLoUs07 Ok, nice know. 😁
"Tiger Woo, Tiger Woooo. I lie him" 😅
Dopest line ever Fam!!
😂😂
I still cannot stop laughing after so many years of watching this
AZK91 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😩😩😩😩
😂😂😂
Im Dominican and I thought he was Dominican too, he played a great role LOL
Jefferey Wright is one the greatest working actors period. He knows his craft and creates dynamic characters in every project he is involved. He is electrifying as peoples, he gave weight to this movie that would not be the same without him. That is when you know an actor knows their craft.
I agree I wonder why I don't see him in more movies bad dude
""Craft"" ???? Why not say oh, he's a great actor!? Craft?? Word used by REAL actors and BUSTERS'.... but don't worry oh, it's not as annoying as when actors and Buster's respond to a question. And say oh, it was amazing. Amazing, the new word used by jerk off around the world trying to be trendy. It's number one on the buster- lists.., craft. It's hovering salad around 5.
Yeah he was seriously seriously. Underrated in this role... he made the movie!
I don’t think I would of cared about this movie without his character. In fact it’s the only clips I watch
he is unbelivebly real in his role he is 1 of the best actor.
He played the hell out of this part.
Jeffery Wright stole this move from Sam Jackson and Christian Bale. He is the only thing anyone remembers from Shaft 2000
+Michael Doran You right, I also think who ever write most of the stuff he says must be a Dominican because that is the way Dominicans would say it. Love this movie.
Actually, for me it was the drug dealer whom Shaft has to chase through buildings that I remembered after almost 2 decades of not seeing this movie. Somehow, I only recalled that scene.
I saw most of the movie so many years ago and the most I remember is "I'm not your enemy, I'm Peoples" For some reason that stayed in the back of my mind.
Now THIS is hilarious, because just yesterday I had an Uber driver who was from the DR, and I posted right after the ride that he sounded just like Peoples!
Wright's accent he used for Peoples sounds to me like a much less exaggerated version of Pacino's Tony Montana.
So now we know Batman's true weakness. Peoples Hernandez
Batman is a fricking.puto on Peoples' payroll.
And he also had Bubbles from The Wire
Funny that Jeffrey Wright is gonna be playing Commissioner Gordom in the next Batman movie
Imagine Batman & Commissioner Gordon sitting in jail, plotting as villains
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Outshining L. Jackson (especially in a movie tailor-made for him) is no easy task, but Wright really steals the show with his Peoples Hernandez. If you haven't seen this 2K version of Shaft then this character alone is a good reason to watch it. And if you have seen it, this character is usually why you watch it again.
yeah , he was too good for this movie that only wanted to be a summer action movie
"Oh yea, that white boy, he got mugged. I don't know he came and was like 'No tengo dinero, boss'. Very dangerous times out here" LMFAO
Jay Fresco "he got mugged ask 'im"
@@TheNixho Ask heem(him) 😂😂😂
@@TheNixho LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
His accent was spectacular. Come to find out he an’t even Spanish.
Of course he’s not... He’s American, “Spanish” are people from SPAIN 🇪🇸, they are Europeans
@@kanguessokang9918 Latino I meant, sorry. He is not Latino.
Hispanic... Whatever that is lmao
he’s racist. that’s all.
Werd!!!!lol
I swear I laughed so hard in the movie theatre at this part,my laugh got people laughing for about a good ten minutes. Great great movie. He played the hell out of this character.
Jeffrey Wright should have earned an Oscar for his role. Incredibly convincing.
He should play Tony Montana if they do a scarface remake
Besides he's black. I guess it would be a black scarface
@IslangDong317 Back around this time when he shot Shaft would have been perfect
Carlius Hardin many cubans are black anyway
Scarface should never be remade. Ever.
@@warprimeminister scarface already was a remake. You don't make any sense.
no doubt..he deserved an award for this role..well done!!
One of the greatest and most underrated characters in movie cinema history. Yes, I said it.
agreed
A very underrated actor you can tell he played the part with a lot heart
Jeffery Wright is great at everything he does but this will always be my favorite.timeless. I want a whole Peoples movie
From Peoples Hernandez to Dr. Valentine Narcisse (HBO: Boardwalk Empire), truly a gifted actor par excellence.
Don't forget Felix Liter in 007
Alin Louis zzz I love him in Westworld
I actually met Jeffrey Wright in person. Very funny laid-back cool dude.
Jeffrey Wright is the best actor no one knows. He steals scenes and should be grabbing Oscars.
jeffrey wright as peoples made this movie watchable
"In dis neighbohood, I an thee mothafokin King snake." What a badass character, Best part
Lu X “I do like dis 👉 On 181. Three people die on Riverside”
King Snakes are non-venomous tho, he'd be more like a rattlesnake or a cobra
Lu X 🗣He got mugged, ASK HIM 😭😂
@@MrRobjs83 king snakes eat other snakes which is the point he was making, of all the predators in that concrete jungle he feeds on all others
It’s there’s web he say you best kill me he stabbing himself then check it out
It tickled me when they threw the guy out the window. Yes, Jeffery Wright is a brillant actor, and very underrated. I felt his role as "Peoples" deserved an Oscar nomination.
Honestly man this is GOLD from start to finish, every word and every line
I know that was sad!
This actor made me laugh the entire time when watching this movie. He did a good role.
Peoples forget! lol Most of you met Jeffrey wright in this movie! He's underrated! Many different roles since this one. Still amazes me how he pulled this one off and does so many roles after! So underrated!!!
Lakawanna Blues
@The Professional, true, I'm one of those people.
I absolutely love, love, love Jeffrey Wright. Just read an article that indicates, he doesn't interview for his rolls. The directors KNOW he's the best at what he does. It's also nice to know his mom, was like one of the First African American women to work for the U.S. Customs Department back in 1960. He grew up with her in Washington DC and studied political science at Amherst College in Boston. His dad died when he was young.
He played the hell outta that role in Shaft. Dominican Accent down pat (Upper Manhattan) Dominican territory in New York. Anything he does, turns to gold.
He's one of the most versatile actors in Hollywooooo.
Jeffrey wright great actor.
JW stoled the spotlight in this movie.... great acting portraying a NY dominican drug dealer and he's not latino.

'Tie-ga Woo, Tie-ga Woo' Lol always gets me
What about flaco flaco we got hollywoo riheer in deeshouse:))
I swear I didn’t know about JR when this movie came out and really thought he was some latino actor. Wow sure fooled me!
*JW (Jeffrey Wright). But yeah he fooled me too into thinking he's Dominican and I'm Dominican.
I know, sure thought he was hispanic
tu papa no, I think they say he is black and speaks perfect English. That surprised me too because he had the Hispanic accent down to a science in Shaft.
"Do I look like a fucking fool to you??"
"uh I don't know" - LMAO
I got money longer than train smoke
One of my favorites movies, specially for peoples Hernandez
"Do we look like a fuckin fool to you?"
People's: (turns head) "I don't know." Lol
Lissen. I STILL TO THIS DAY am reeling over Jeffrey Wright’s performance as Basqiat which was punctuated by his performance as Peoples Hernandez in Shaft, the latter of which I didn’t even realize it was HIM until I sat and saw that it was him when they rolled the credits! Before that, I was like WHOEVER that was, they LITERALLY STOLE the whole movie!! And upon seeing it was Jeffrey, I couldn’t even move from my seat!!! This man is INCREDIBLY talented and I will not REST until he is handed his OSCAR! And while I respect that we have to wait until the RIGHT role comes along and the RIGHT movie comes, but DAMNIT, they need to hurray up, cuz, just WOW! What a talent he is…❤️❤️❤️
“It’s not my size” 😂😂
"I go like this👉 on 181, three people die on Riverside..."
I literally saw this when that part came up.😂😂😂

EVERY Line a damn quote.
I’m Dominican from the heights and I really thought this guy was 1 of us!!! He played the character perfect!!!! Honestly should of got an award because of the authenticity. I really thought he was Dominicano Dominicano 🇩🇴

This is one of my favorite movies of all time! Jeffrey write was the perfect person for this role!
He´s not mixed what i know. This is by far his most entertaining performance, but see him in BASQUIAT from´96 with Benicio Del Toro or as a crazy war-veteran in THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE´04.Man,he was Clifton Powell in W 08.This guy can act!
My favorite movie
Wym he was Clifton Powell in w08?
Multi Generational Mixed Race
His finest moment was letting Batman watch him take a poop.
I thought that clip was in there.....😁😁😁😁😁😁
That Sh!t is classic. I wonder if he improvised that.
That was hella funny the way he said it he got mugged ask him at 4:48
Jeffery Wright is African American and part native American...he is no parts latino, just played the part of a Dominican, he said so in and interview when the movie first came out.
Damnnn i forgot "Puto, why you flinch" came from Peoplez himself
man if only they did a spinoff on this character....would have been amazing
yessd
Jeffrey Wright dominates any movie he touches and this was no different! Fantastic effort :)
Tiger Woo, Tiger WOOOO...I like eeem
You don't got the scene where he hopped out at started stabbing hiself? Ahhh com'on!!!! Love this vid!

@@Thecheese86 me too! How has that scene not been uploaded?!
My Sincere top three fav actor's and Number one fav BAD GUY
I soooo agree with the video description! Peoples is my all-time favorite movie character! And Jeffrey W is so underrated!
That gesture he does with the chop sticks..no amount of hits with anything will make the feeling of being humiliated go away for his intended target. It's the strongest display of disregard I've ever seen. And with so little effort. It is beautiful. He pays more attention to even the smallest grain of rice in his dish than he pays to the victim..
Yes this is one of the most underated characters in a movie ... ( the movies ive seen ) ...
Damn!!!Batman and Gordan sitting in a cell!!!Lmao
One of the greatest actors in my book
How class was Jeffrey wright in this.that walk cracks me up
The best Dominican acting 😂
Evergreen character!! They should do a sequel to this!
Samaksh Uppal they are
Watched this movie when it came out and followed Mr. Wright's career since and he is a very great actor with phenomenal range!!!!!
“Mirror! I’m telling you Jeter hit 1 home run. 2 doubles..”. Classic!!!
One of the true actors.
Amazing acting. Played that role to the tee
Yo soy el Mayimbe!
1.50 'Tiger Woo'... Tiger Woo'... I like him...'
That Jeter line had me rolling lmfao
"Im gonna put so many lawyers in yo ass, youre gonna think they opened a branch office up there."
Truly a time piece line on the same level as Nino Browns
"Get yo 1 dollar ass out of here before i break change."
I still have a hard time wrapping my mind around this being the same guy who played Basquiat. Jeff seriously deserves WAY more credit.
Lord Loud Kloud exactly 🙄👌🏽

Ju know ju took a big risk coming here all by ju self lol🤣🤣🤣
Peoples is the best character in the move, without him the move would[nt be up to much,,, his patter alone is fucking superb
I'm a star... yo soy el mayimbe.
Bubbles hanging out before he moved to the streets of Baltimore...

When i first saw the movie i didnt knew his name but i became a fan immediately
Jeffrey was such a riot as Peoples :))))
“Tiger Woo, Tiger Woo... I like him...”

Great clips, my favorite character in this movie.
I LOVED this guy. Anytime I can see Jeffrey Wright, I won't miss him. --------------WolfSky9
"I do like dis on 191 , 3 people die on de other side".... Best line in the movie!
“He got mug “ 😂😂😂😂😂😭😭😭😭😂
Peace and blessings to Mr. Jeffery Wright as well as his family, he’s a remarkable actor and has one face, as straight up as 6: o’clock..... stay up!!!!
Could you imagine how amazing this guy would've been on the movie Scarface.
He made this movie great, not SLJ. I remember his name being thrown around as a potential supporting actor candidate for the Academy Awards but that's another story :(
No doubt he nailed this and should have won awards
SLJ does the best at doing SLJ, that's why he's fitting on this type of roles. But yeah, Jeffrey is one hell of an actor.
Yeah, he´s an excellent actor the dear Dr. Narcisse :)
al112v5 SLJ has so much more talent than just playing himself, I think you’re definitely underestimating him. He was an excellent Shaft.
"He got mug ask him👉'!?" 😂😂😂 no tango denaro homez 😂😂 it’s funny how the cop says “who’s that?” Clown you work for him
Dear Peoples Hernandez,
Would you please play Scarface the Resurrection.. You got our voice, and looks down to a T.
Fuck no,Tony Montana was Cuban not Puerto rican dumbass.
Peoples wields a pair of chopsticks with ease.
Good summary, growing up all my mates like batman teenage mutant ninja turtles etc all the superheroes basically, i was the only kid whose favourite characters were the bad guys so its good to see someone else with the same appreciation 😁
0:34 MODEL FOCKEL ahahahahah love this accent people is the man :D
"It's no my size" hahahahaha
hah he show up like no tengo dinero ya know
dangerous times out here now. you gotta watch your back
HAHA
The best part to me is that you would think he is playing the cops or something when he talked about Bale being mugged. The way he says it is so casual and smug like he's young with them but he's serious. That's just how he is. Casually like "Yea the money is gone man. Too bad for you guys Thems the breaks ."
Calinks In diss neigborhood I am the muthafukker King snake choo know 🤔
5:56 was cut way too soon, it really hurt to miss his walk away bc it too was 🔥 A near trip but he maintained the trip staying in character!! I love THIS MAN. I always feel like I'm cheating on my husband when I watch him onscreen 🤗
3:40 when patrick batemen realized peoples got a reservation at dorsia's before him too.
awesome villain! quote him everytime I get a chance
I can’t believe that guy who played People’s Hernandez went on to play Commissioner Gordon in The Batman. I mean Colin Farrell was Bullseye in Daredevil then a cop in SWAT. Give an actor or actress a part and watch them create it.
