Had to google this vacuum to check and see if its known to be a well-built machine because we have had ours since I was a kid brand new and still use it today as our main vacuum for our carpet floors upstairs. Dont believe its ever been serviced either. Cant believe its still running strong. No need to buy new vacuums unless you want some of the new features of them, but so far everytime I see a new vacuum it feels and looks like plastic junk. These things are miles better than the new stuff we have.
I love my diamond edition. It’s been my daily driver for over a year now. I don’t use the 2 speed all that much, but I enjoy having it. And also why don’t you like the newer HEPA bags? I don’t use paper bags anymore because they tend to clog up too quickly.
The cloth bags were just more costly to change out once the bags were getting too smelly for me so I switched back to paper. Plus what was the point of buying the more expensive bags for my Kirbys if I'm never going to use them? Unfortunately the only Kirby I have that can't use paper bags is my Sentria because it's style F.

This is probably the most desirable G series that Kirby ever made and is my first ever Kirby that I bought just before I started vacuum collecting.

This is probably my favorite Kirby model since I’ve grew up with it and it’s the only model to have the two speed motor. 🙂

My great aunt had a Kirby g 3 and probably has a modern model and she had a the classic three in the 80s
