god i loved university and magic shit in old sims games but people are being so toxic towards the gurus whenever they breathe and it isnt about university like holy smokes chill be patient let the game develop naturally
agreed.. i don't need university.. i personally want something supernatural more.. (mainly because i'm a sucker for unique sims.. after all one of my two most favorite sims 3 characters from back in the day was a supernatural.. i mean i also had a family i adored wich was just a normal family but i loved em )
I hate when people get annoyed about university it was the 9th expansion pack released for the sims 3. The sims 4 is flawed but I feel like the team can never win people say they want new stuff then they complain saying they want an old recycled expansion from an old version of the game... it sucks for the gurus 100%

it's as if people don't understand that this is inspired by Sims 2 Strangetown which was a hugely popular back in the day. i'm super excited for this pack as i loved Strangetown and like variety in my game! disappointed people are angry about it not being university, it's like they're refusing to like anything other than that
Exactly it was popular BACK IN THE DAY honestly I'm not mad about the game pack what I'm mad about is that the gurus they make polls and stuff about what we want and on the top of the lists are usually university cars and all of the other stuff. If for months I would have seen people asking for Supernatural stuff I wouldn't say anything but literally maybe 15% asked for witches and zombies. So do they just disregard the other 85% ? Yep, their most selling packs are always the realistic ones, why do you think they always put vampire pack on sale ? Nobody wants it. So they should just start listening to their audience instead of putting random packs in between the good ones.
And no one seems to notice how much it's inspired by the show "Stranger Things" too. I mean obvious inspiration is obvious. (ps: and I'm not saying it's a bad thing, I loved this show)

And what most people like about this game is something that'll effect the whole game like seasons, pets and celebrities but honestly packs like jungle adventure and outdoor retreat like who plays with that everyday ? It's probably going to be a one time thing and then that's it. It's my opinion.

Looking at the comments from the trailer video, I’m actually pretty upset at the responses to this pack most of the community had. I understand people want university. Trust me, I do too. It was my favourite pack in the Sims 3 and it’s coming for sure. But what I’ve also seen a lot of people complain about the Sims 4 was that it was soulless, unlike, for example, the Sims 2 which this seems based on. This new pack seems like a great way to bring some zest to the game and I’m exited to see the Sims team try something new ! I think I’m going to love this pack, just as some other people will too. I don’t mean to offend anyone but yeah, that’s how I feel about this. I’m glad Simsie reacted like this, even if it isn’t usually her cup of tea ! This is why she’s the best

The thing with university is of course we want it but a majority of players will probably do it once and then never again.... sometimes it feels like the sims community is never satisfied lol

I feel the complete opposite about hating unrealism in the sims. Like, personally, I play games for escapism and The Sims 4 has so much potential to be full of personality and it just keeps being grounded in reality minus a few things. Like The Sims 2 is so memorable because of the personality and storytelling that happened and went on with the mysteries and backgrounds. It's just something The Sims 4 is lacking so much.

i feel like enough 'realism' packs have been released and they need to do something to appease the other type of players even though i was hoping for witches i like this!

I know a lot of people are disappointed about this pack not being university, but I am VERY glad that it isn't. I don't want a university game pack. I'm glad to have game packs between big content. I'm not sure what they're expecting, but if everyone wants university/tropical vacation stuff wouldn't you much rather they be expansions? I'm totally fine with some filler content like this (even if it's not something I'm super interested in) while we wait for the bigger ticket stuff. Just because they haven't announced university doesn't mean they aren't working on it!

Honestly, I’ll buy the pack for the new clothes/world/furniture and what have you. But I’m not sure I’ll play through the actual gameplay. And knowing the sims team they’ll probably make it so you can toggle it off so it can just be a regular world for you to play in. And that’s what I’m hoping for!

bridget the midget Get Famous has some flaws and stuff that wasn’t really finished. A lot of people were disappointed with it and I think that’s what this person meant with their comment.
bridget the midget it’s a nice pack I just think they rushed part of it. We should have had 3 liveable areas. And maybe a low rise apartment or two since the world mimics LA. Good pack, but they missed some major opportunities. I don’t want them to do the same with university :)

I think this is a breath of fresh air for the Sims and will provide a lot of people a change in scenery! I love playing with families and watching them grow up, but I’m always looking for new storylines to spice things up. I think this is the perfect way! There’s so much material for story telling. I’m hoping this is a pack that people will come around to and give a chance.
this is probably going to be more fun for players who played the sims 2 (in the sims 2 there was a world called strangetown that was like this)

Thank you! If university came out as a game pack everyone would complain that it is trash which honestly it would be because it would be lacking a lot. People also forget university was one of the last expansion packs for Sims 3 & that we just got Get Famous in November.

You start off as a Trainee at a Boot Camp, then once you get Promoted, You can Select Between The Air Force, The Navy, The Marine Corp, or The Army.

It's sooo annoying how ungrateful some people are. Just because this is not your cup of tea does not mean you can be mean and insult the Sim Gurus who have put so much time into making this. University will most likely come out as an expansion pack and since we just got Get Famous is will probably take some time (and even when it does come out people will probably have something to complain about, again). Just be happy with what you get and don't influence others with your negativity.
I'm glad kayla feels the same way I do about the negativity surrounding new packs. I'm sick of people being so rude to the gurus.

just because university hasnt come out yet doesnt mean they arent working on it. if they release it early and its sh*tty everyone will be upset so let them take their time and make it GOOD so you will enjoy it. also i loved sims 2 i love this world even if i dont enjoy the gameplay theres other things to look forward to in this GAME PACK. not expansion pack so if this was university youd all be salty about that as well.

As a fellow realism player, I am not a fan. This is definitely not my cup of tea or even anything I would chose to play. I’m slightly disappointed, but happy for people who like it. I really hope that the infected sims don’t go to other towns.

They’ve confirmed that the strangeness stays within Strangerville and even then can be toggled off to be played as a typical city!

Im mainly disappointed because it looks like a one-play pack. It's a mystery, so once its solved, theres not much else to do. For $25, i want more than just a couple days of gameplay.

I'm so excited for this! It brings some of the things I loved about TS2 into the sims 4! University is something that will expand everyday gameplay and it would be pretty cool - but to do it well it needs to be an expansion and needs long dev time imo. Also I would want to play a child from toddlerhood before bringing them to Uni. Where as this is something I can dive into. My social media sims can do conspiracy videos, my scientist and alien sims will fit right into this conspiracy world! My tech guru sims can use laptops and fall into the deep web and spy on the men in black! I love this!
Im honestly so excited for this bc i played sims 2 on my gameboy advance when I was younger and its so similar. I loved that game so much and now they've got a new version of Strangeville.

We should all be patient. I know the sims team is working on it - they’ve already teased about it. But I don’t want them to rush into releasing it to soon and then we end up with another empty world like in get famous. I hope they prefect university and then release it to us :)

StrangerVille and Forgotten Hollow are really Strange Town and Midnight Hollow but smaller. The devs can change the names all they want but we all know the truth.
