Also, for those who like doing maintenance/teardowns on their ps4, make sure you plug the Blu-ray drive all the way in. My brother's ps4 remained in a off state until it was fixed. You'd think it be the power supply but it wasn't.
I've just did a whole cleaning of my system and now it doesn't tuen on manually (only remotely via the controller). I have a doubt about the flexible cable that connects the disc drive circuit board to the mother board and i noticed that one corner of that cable is not tightly secured (i can make little movements). I'm wonderimg if that is the cause of my problem.

I had someone give me an original xbox like 10 years ago i remember opening it outside and there had to be thousands of roaches in that thing. It took over an hour with a air hose to get them out. It was the most filthy thing ive ever seen.

@@boardy7738 if ur PS4 is the Launch Model, the 1000 model, there is a trick called the washer trick in which u install washers under the Clamps that hold the mobo which will put enough pressure between the APU and the mobo, and this fix is not permanent, the fix can last for days or even months, the other way u can do it is if u reball the main APU by heating it up and Putting new Solder Balls Under the APU but I'm not sure if Reballing is a permanent fix for the BLOD
So my PS4 turned itself off yesterday while playing, i've checked the plug and changed the fuse but no dice. The only signs of life from the PS4Pro right now is the eject button makes a beep when pressed along with the blue console light coming on momentary (when the console beeps after pressing the eject button) But the disc itself wont even eject after pressing the eject button. Any ideas ?
My son's ps4 won't turn on. The cord is alittle loose. When imove the cord around it makes an electrical cracking sound. wiggling the chord ive gotten the ps4 to beep twice. How can i test to see if it's the power chord or power supply. Can i use a multimeter? Where would i use it and what should i look for? Thank you for helping
My wifes PS4 (original) console was working just fine up until a brief power outage. Afterwards, when powered on, it beeps once, then powers off. I have tried the following : -Cleaning the interiors with air duster, swabs, alcohol (91% wipes gently on certain areas with high dust). -Replacing thermal paste & pads for the APU & little ram guys. -Cleaning the power supply its self with air duster. None of which fixed it. Should I try replacing the power supply or the Mother Board ?
Just left are’s unplugged, vacuumed it, took out ssd, reversed vacuumed to blow air threw and then tried it and powered on. Probably about 10-15 min unplugged. Good luck to those that try this, worked for us.👍

My ps4 is once again not working. Bought 2 new ps4 supplys. Both aren’t seeming to make the game power on at all. No lights, no sound, no nothing. The game is completely off. The first time it happened, I bought a new power supply it came in the mail, plugged it up and it worked. That one only lasted 4 months though even though it was still brand new. So me thinking it was the same problem bought ANOTHER power supply. It just came in today put it in and the game isn’t working still. Idk what the issue could be. Im glad my Playstation 4 is still under warranty after its brought second hand from the second hand shop,I picked it up today after took it in yesterday after shut down after playing a game,Just knew what was wrong with it,The power board had blown,He had some spares,Put a whole spare power board in,Brought it home,Powered it up,Works perfectly well,Also put 12 month warranty back on it,Ive had since last October,So also very Happy Customer as well 😎

I have a xbox 360 and it wont start because the hard drive broke the living crap out of its self.I havent told anyone this but i used to have a ps4. I once took it apart and i saw a tiny cockroach, i freaked out that my ps4 wouldnt turn on and i tried to take the cockroach out but then it ran away into the motherboard. I instead closed up the ps4 but i was so RETARDED, i was 8 or 7. Then i turned it on and it turned off 10 seconds later. Then i tried to turn it on, it wouldnt and i though it fried some fries out. I just fixed a PS4 just like that. Bought it off ebay and I was the first one to take it apart, seals intact and so on. No reaction when I pressed the power button. I even took apart the PSU and checked for continuity, everything checked out. Was quite bummed that I had to take it apart, the PS4 Slim has way too many screws. When I turned it around I realized that the ribbon cable that connects the power button board to the mainboard somehow wasn't connected. I reconnected it, attached a power cord and HDMI and turned it on. The light went white, I had a picture on the screen, everything worked. Put everything back together, put a harddrive in, and it was even reset to factory settings. Don't ask me how this happened, maybe the previous owner dropped it in a weird way so that the ribbon cable came loose, I don't know.

Some say that once the slim overheat the motherboard could damage and there is a chance that it cannot be fix anymore because the slim has a thin motherboard, ex the cpu/gpu will need to reball.. But since it overheat the motherboard damage also the other side of it or it will get cracked therefore you cannot fix it anymore? I think my ps4 has a burnt out power supply. I tried switching cables and when i try to turn it on. It does a ‘beep’ but not turning on. I saw the fan turning for a second then not turning. I opened my ps4 before and played it for weeks without any problem.
I had this problem today, I solved it by plugging the console into a different power supply and booted with only the power cable inserted all other cables removed, it started and I reconnected everything else. It was plugged into a clean power supply multi-socket extension that has surge protection so can only surmise this is after a year of perfect operation suddenly decided it no longer likes the PS4 Pro ??

I have a ps4 SLIM that is ONE WEEK OUT OF WARRANTY, blue light turns on for one second(beeps too), then the system shuts off, and is unresponsive until you unplug it. I sent my ps4 pro 2 the Texas facility PlayStation, it won't power up blue light comes on 4 a second. I paid $149 it worked 4 a week dead again. My launch Pro was hit by lightning in Feb. home took a direct hit, as in: There was arcing in the entertainment center (and elsewhere) with utility boxes and HVAC stuff blown to bits and even a vehicle totally disabled by EMP (only thing insured; already got a check). Surprisingly, the Pro still seems to power up into standby but attempting to fully power up kills it. You have to unplug and replug to get it back in standby. Seems that the PWM works since it responds to the controller once per plug-cycle.
What about when it won’t respond to the power button (I’ve touched the metal strip myself so I know it’s not the plastic ) But beeps three time when pressing the eject (It won’t accept discs )
Guys, if you cleaned your PS4 and have a problem getting the PS4 to turn on or it turns on then off, you may have put the power supply back in wrong. Make sure the two long metal pieces are straight and not bent to where it reaches the power brick. Not placing it back in correctly also may make it hard to put the other plastic back on and difficult to put the screws back in the PS4. Went through this myself. Hopes that's the case and you too can save your money.

Hey Steve, thanks for very helpful videos i was able to change my ps4 slim hard drive and make it work again after he took a drop to the ground. I still have a minor problem though. There is no light on the power indicator, but there is beeping noises. Also the dvd does not auto eject anymore but is working perfectly when there is a game inside. It is a bit annoying to use the manual screw(thanks to you again) to eject a dvd every time. What could be the issue ? thanks a bunch
My base PS4 would sometimes scramble its storage (I think) while uploading a shared video to TH-cam. Afterwards, I would try to turn it on, get a blinking blue, and then it shuts off. No response. The only way for me to fix it was to reinstall the system software (not the Update file, but the FULL install) on a USB stick, in safe mode. I would have to reinstall all my games, and hopefully I had a recent data backup so I didn't lose all my save data, too. But at least it got back up and running again. Back up your data often!

Hi there so yesterday I came home and tried to turn on my playstation which was working before I went out, it made the beep noise but doesn't go on, when I tried now it beeped and the blue light came on for a short second and just went off again. my ps4 has served well for a few years. tonight while playing fallout4 with mods (ive played this config alot) i heard a pop then no power. no lightning and no power surges (im offgrid and using a good ups). it sounded like a fuse popping-no burnt smell. i havent tried to open til i get some solid info. ty
Believe it or not, I have a lizard so I give him crickets, so I was playing ps4 with a buddy and a loud pop came from my ps4 and right away I thought power supply, so I took the power supply out and found out a cricket burnt a spot in the power supply🤮 thanks to your video I was able to take the power supply out and the new one will be here soon so thank you for saving me 300 dollars

I need help with my ps4, I don't know what happen to it but every time I boot up a game it shuts down into a black screen, and after that happens I try to turn it on but it won't make any noise, nor beeping sound plus the lights won't even turn on. The only way to make it turn on is if I unplugg it and plug it in again, then it would turn on.
So, the PS4 has been randomly shutting off (been happening at the start of June, never dealt with this situation before) and I'm not sure why. I'm starting to think it's my outlet (it's the only one I can use as of now) because I plugged it directly into the wall and it still doesn't turn on. Repairing an outlet might be expensive and I don't wanna resort to that just yet. I just recently bought another power cable and I do wanna buy another power strip (I've had my current one for some time now).I really don't wanna have to resort to buying another PS4 or doing a repair. Until then, I will try doing troubleshoot options to see it works again. I really hope I don't have the BLOD. It usually shuts off by itself and I don't have to do it manually.

Had the same issue with my ps4 pro. I thought it might have been from dropping on the ground accidentally when I was moving house. I'd like to know how to fix, I was also told from our local computer repair shop it could be APU.
I have a first gen one where nothing happens at all when pressing the power button. Eject button does nothing, I get no lights, no beeps. I checked the cord and I have 120v to the connector that plugs into the ps4. I've checked the fuse inside the power supply and it's good. I read the pins for the small connector that goes from the power supply to the motherboard and I have 4.7v on the appropriate pins. The owner totally jacked up the hdmi port using things like aluminum foil (I don't know why, but that's what she said.) but the port ultimately failed. I've replaced the port, all my pins are soldered and look good via microscope with no movement and no shorting to each other, checked via multimeter. It doesn't take discs and I've tried plugging a controller into the usb port and pressing the controllers PS button but still nothing at all happens. I've tried pressing the power button for a LOOONG time and still nothing. I've also replaced the battery.

I think ur PS4 pro has the BLOD which is mostly caused by a bad APU or Faulty Solder Joints under the APU

This is the 4th or 5th time this happened to one of my ps4s, 3rd time in one year. It turns on for 1 second then turns off immediately.

So me thinking it was the same problem bought ANOTHER power supply. It just came in today put it in and the game isn’t working still. Idk what the issue could be. If a new power supply worked the first time why won’t it work this time?…

Im glad my Playstation 4 is still under warranty after its brought second hand from the second hand shop,I picked it up today after took it in yesterday after shut down after playing a game,Just knew what was wrong with it,The power board had blown,He had some spares,Put a whole spare power board in,Brought it home,Powered it up,Works perfectly well,Also put 12 month warranty back on it,Ive had since last October,So also very Happy Customer as well 😎

this is called blue light of death. just press the turn on button until you hear 2 beeps to get into the safe mode.

If there's a lightening storm in the area I'd unplug it and unplug the HDMI cable as well.

I have a xbox 360 and it wont start because the hard drive broke the living crap out of its self.I havent told anyone this but i used to have a ps4. I once took it apart and i saw a tiny cockroach, i freaked out that my ps4 wouldnt turn on and i tried to take the cockroach out but then it ran away into the motherboard. I instead closed up the ps4 but i was so RETARDED, i was 8 or 7. Then i turned it on and it turned off 10 seconds later. Then i tried to turn it on, it wouldnt and i though it fried some fries out. I just fixed a PS4 just like that. Bought it off ebay and I was the first one to take it apart, seals intact and so on. No reaction when I pressed the power button. I even took apart the PSU and checked for continuity, everything checked out. Was quite bummed that I had to take it apart, the PS4 Slim has way too many screws. When I turned it around I realized that the ribbon cable that connects the power button board to the mainboard somehow wasn't connected. I reconnected it, attached a power cord and HDMI and turned it on. The light went white, I had a picture on the screen, everything worked. Put everything back together, put a harddrive in, and it was even reset to factory settings.
Don't ask me how this happened, maybe the previous owner dropped it in a weird way so that the ribbon cable came loose, I don't know.

Unless you're looking for the better performance that a Pro would give you I'd stick with the Slim.

Some say that once the slim overheat the motherboard could damage and there is a chance that it cannot be fix anymore because the slim has a thin motherboard, ex the cpu/gpu will need to reball.. But since it overheat the motherboard damage also the other side of it or it will get cracked therefore you cannot fix it anymore? And also if you lived in a cold place, let say you are playing well overtime your ps4 slim will be warm (and that is normal) after you finish using your system again overtime it will cool down right, could that be also damge my ps4 slim motherboard becouse when you are finish using it, it will cool down so the system is still hot, but since the place is also cold? Overheating won't cause any damage unless it happens over and over.

I think my ps4 has a burnt out power supply. I tried switching cables and when i try to turn it on. It does a ‘beep’ but not turning on. I saw the fan turning for a second then not turning. I opened my ps4 before and played it for weeks without any problem.

I had this problem today, I solved it by plugging the console into a different power supply and booted with only the power cable inserted all other cables removed, it started and I reconnected everything else. It was plugged into a clean power supply multi-socket extension that has surge protection so can only surmise this is after a year of perfect operation suddenly decided it no longer likes the PS4 Pro ??

I have a ps4 SLIM that is ONE WEEK OUT OF WARRANTY, blue light turns on for one second(beeps too), then the system shuts off, and is unresponsive until you unplug it. Same issue if I try again after unplug. Does not stay on long for enough safe mode. Took apart and dusted off insides, fan, power supply, etc to no avail. Please help me out TronicsFix! What do you think the issue is?
Could be power supply but could also be the APU or some other problem. Just no way for me to know unfortunately.

My PS4 slim turns on for about 10 minutes after which it shuts down by itself. It happened 5 times in a day. I have tried another power socket located on my wall. My launch Pro was hit by lightning in Feb. home took a direct hit, as in: There was arcing in the entertainment center (and elsewhere) with utility boxes and HVAC stuff blown to bits and even a vehicle totally disabled by EMP (only thing insured; already got a check).
Surprisingly, the Pro still seems to power up into standby but attempting to fully power up kills it. You have to unplug and replug to get it back in standby. Seems that the PWM works since it responds to the controller once per plug-cycle.

Guys, if you cleaned your PS4 and have a problem getting the PS4 to turn on or it turns on then off, you may have put the power supply back in
wrong. Make sure the two long metal pieces are straight and not bent to where it reaches the power brick. Not placing it back in correctly also
may make it hard to put the other plastic back on and difficult to put the screws back in the PS4. Went through this myself. Hopes that's the
case and you too can save your money.

Hey Steve, thanks for very helpful videos i was able to change my ps4 slim hard drive and make it work again after he took a drop to the ground. I still have a minor problem though. There is no light on the power indicator, but there is beeping noises. Also the dvd does not auto eject anymore but is working perfectly when there is a game inside. It is a bit annoying to use the manual screw(thanks to you again) to eject a dvd every time. What could be the issue ? thanks a bunch

My base PS4 would sometimes scramble its storage (I think) while uploading a shared video to TH-cam. Afterwards, I would try to turn it on, get a blinking blue, and then it shuts off. No response. The only way for me to fix it was to reinstall the system software (not the Update file, but the FULL install) on a USB stick, in safe mode. I would have to reinstall all my games, and hopefully I had a recent data backup so I didn't lose all my save data, too. But at least it got back up and running again. Back up your data often!

maybe it's problem with HDMI or TV resolution just hold the power button until you hear the second beeps if this works then reset the settings

Hi there so yesterday I came home and tried to turn on my playstation which was working before I went out, it made the beep noise but doesn't go on, when I tried now it beeped and the blue light came on for a short second and just went off again. I thought maybe it was the power cord but I tried a different one and it still didnt work just did the same thing. All the other stuff plugged in works perfectly just the ps4 doesn't, what do you think is wrong?

Believe it or not, I have a lizard so I give him crickets, so I was playing ps4 with a buddy and a loud pop came from my ps4 and right away I thought power supply, so I took the power supply out and found out a cricket burnt a spot in the power supply🤮 thanks to your video I was able to take the power supply out and the new one will be here soon so thank you for saving me 300 dollars

I need help with my ps4, I don't know what happen to it but every time I boot up a game it shuts down into a black screen, and after that happens I try to turn it on but it won't make any noise, nor beeping sound plus the lights won't even turn on. The only way to make it turn on is if I unplugg it and plug it in again, then it would turn on.

So, the PS4 has been randomly shutting off (been happening at the start of June, never dealt with this situation before) and I'm not sure why. I'm starting to think it's my outlet (it's the only one I can use as of now) because I plugged it directly into the wall and it still doesn't turn on. Repairing an outlet might be expensive and I don't wanna resort to that just yet. I just recently bought another power cable and I do wanna buy another power strip (I've had my current one for some time now).I really don't wanna have to resort to buying another PS4 or doing a repair. Until then, I will try doing troubleshoot options to see it works again. I really hope I don't have the BLOD. It usually shuts off by itself and I don't have to do it manually.

Had the same issue with my ps4 pro. I thought it might have been from dropping on the ground accidentally when I was moving house. I'd like to know how to fix, I was also told from our local computer repair shop it could be APU.

I have a first gen one where nothing happens at all when pressing the power button. Eject button does nothing, I get no lights, no beeps. I checked the cord and I have 120v to the connector that plugs into the ps4. I've checked the fuse inside the power supply and it's good. I read the pins for the small connector that goes from the power supply to the motherboard and I have 4.7v on the appropriate pins. The owner totally jacked up the hdmi port using things like aluminum foil (I don't know why, but that's what she said.) but the port ultimately failed. I've replaced the port, all my pins are soldered and look good via microscope with no movement and no shorting to each other, checked via multimeter. It doesn't take discs and I've tried plugging a controller into the usb port and pressing the controllers PS button but still nothing at all happens. I've tried pressing the power button for a LOOONG time and still nothing. I've also replaced the battery.
