My shields kept going with the starter ship. Tier IV was almost completed when my shields would go after a couple of hits. So I cheesed it. Set yourself up after a fail. Fly into the space station, took some doing to not take damage. The enemy ships will try to fly into it and take damage, some will sneak into your cockpit view, blast the crap out of them, they fly off, rinse repeat. Occasionally they will get a few good hits or momentum pushes you towards the hull of the station - come out the pilot seat so the shields can recharge if you are looking like imminent failure. Wait a few seconds, shield will be fresh. You can use this method for Tiers 4 - 6. Takes some time though. The credits were nice!

I beat tier 6 but didn't know there was a debug computer. I used the big asteroids to break enemy line of sight and to regen my shields. Honestly got through with sheer luck

Well done! Yeah, I tried that too but even on normal I was getting shattered.
At the end of the day you only get a bit more money .. and money is the last thing you lack in Starfield.

Not the last level, it's cheese on toast level of cheesy. But I've since discovered that if you get piloting 4 you break targetting on every boost.
Doesn't sound like much but I tested it during my "Can you take the UC Vigilance?" video and I discovered you can boost, immediately break boost, and repeat that forever to prevent enemies from targetting you. Works on very hard so it should work!
      EDIT: Not piloting, engines LOL
