- Today we’re joined by retired FBI Agent Kevin Waller reacting to the iconic game L.A. Noire and giving us his insights into the world of solving crimes and busting bad guys. Things were different in the 1940s and Kevin is here to inform us how investigating has evolved for the better and shares his wisdom from mysteries, car chases, to good old fashion suspects interrogations!
As Hollywood's Golden Age comes to a close after the war, newly appointed police officer Cole Phelps embarks on a quest to find the truth in a city where everyone has something to hide. In addition to the breath-taking action of chases and shootouts, LA Noire uses a leading-edge facial animation technology to offer a truly interactive experience that incorporates interrogations, clues, and true detective work.

”There's the REACTOR that makes you and the REACTOR that breaks you.”
-Herschel Biggs.
@Herschel Biggs Hey, get back to work.
One thing that sometimes gets overlooked is LA Noire is set in the mid to late 40s basically 20 years before the Miranda Rights were established due to the result of the Supreme Court Case Ernesto Miranda vs. The State of Arizona which happened in 1965.
Man, you just made my evening with those things. Thanks!
Seems like they never provide context for these games. It’s almost like they want them to rip the game.
@@endingworlds He kept saying back then vs now, soo when he is speakin about the rights he would be talking about now
@@oskrm I mean on most of these videos the guests have no clue what the game is, or the strat behind it. It’s still cool to see pros talk about games.
I recently read that despite what is often portrayed in movies and TV, the arresting officer doesn't have to read the person they're Miranda Rights as long as they're not asking them questions to be used in court. So if the officer is just asking situational questions (like "any weapons in the vehicle?" in the hopes of making a search easier) or no questions at all, it may wind up that a detective reads them they're rights in the interrogation room.
I wanna see Chris the Cop and this guy do a collab
Agreed
Make it three with the ex-convict.
And the bank robber
Can someone explain why they never provide context to the guests? I think that’d up the quality in videos by a lot.
Yeah, A lot of things make so much more sense if you know what is happening.
A lot of these guests have been here before and have explained themselves before. Guess Gameology feels like they are already established
@@jamalwilburn228 Rooster Teeth felt established at one point. I’m just giving feedback, any smart channel/company will appreciate it.
I’m sure they do at least some of that but they don’t record that part
@@jamalwilburn228 That doesn't explain why they don't give them context about the game or mission they are looking at.
video idea: Robots react to Detroit: BECOME HUMAN.
Or a physiologist reacts to Detroit become human
Siri and Alexa react to Detroit: BECOME HUMAN
And psychologist reacts to cry of fear!
Ohi
Robots react to budget cuts
The FBI works differently from detectives from a police department. Each law enforcement agencies have different powers.
"I say we bust in there and _find the god damn evidence!"_
--Every single cop in the precinct every 40 seconds.
I was thinking about moving up to a 45...
I need a drink. I got the jitters again...
That bum took a swipe at me... put em down with my sap
I wanna make Homicide, you know ya got it made when ya got that desk!
If someone has to suggest busting in and finding evidence, it makes me wonder what they were doing before. Were they asking for evidence?
The Cole Phelps "Doubt" meme face covering up the naughty bits though 😂
wtf I was litteraly just playing this
me too lolll
Nice pfp.
I just played this case last night lol
They are watching you
wow 42 likes in 7 hours haha thx guys
He is saying all the things that the characters are doing wrong as cops.
The problem is that most cop characters in the game know they dont act how cops should. lol
Also this game is set in the 40s. Some modern proper procedures, like Miranda rights or a good chain of evidence.
Plus it's the LAPD so I doubt they give a fuck abt rights
Accidentally searched for L.A Noire! Your new video came up and I got so excited to watch it!! It's a great game and deserves this coverage, but I would like you to give more information about the whole game and more specifically that mission to the guests before shooting the video.
The way he responded to "don't bother knocking, just kick the door in" 😂
Yooo! Great to have him back!
Did they tell him that Cole is not in the FBI?
I know! He's a cop! lol There's a difference.
Idiots at gameology may have not provided the context. That guy thinks Cole is an FBI agent.
But still, most of what he said still applies. Cops can't/don't go touching stuff at a crime scene, you don't go barging in.
@@theascendunt9960 true. But it’s still a little weird they chose an FBI agent instead of a police officer. Cole is a _cop._ lol
Either way, good video.
No, they did not.
Hey its out FBI expert! Funny that I didn't think he'd comment on this game, but now I want him to see more law enforcement games that aren't first-person shooters.
I love this channel
Thank you for your service.
To be fair this was the 1940s and law enforcement was pretty different back then.
And there was a lot of racism back then. This was before the Civil Rights Movements in the 1960s.
Cool video,liked it
Love the soundtrack for this game
Third attempt: Have a tank crewman react to War Thunder Ground Forces (modern vehicles preferred) or "Gunner! Heat! PC"
Yes!!
That thumbnail is hilarious
Lol
LA Noir takes place in 1947, Miranda Rights were not established until 1966
Thanks sir 👍😎
Now all we need is a lawyer reacting to the crimes the criminals did throughout the game... Yes, even that one time when Roy took the money during "Reefer Madness"
Yes, and some historical context would be nice too. I think a lot of the civil rights protections around remaining silent and search warrants came from supreme court cases in the 1960s. Also, the vietnam war of the 1960s and 1970s really caused people to be a lot more skeptical of government. Before that, especially right after WWII, people were probably more trusting of police
Roy was such a crooked cop lol felt good when phelps cussed him out in the arson dlc case
Maybe next video idea: Gun Specialist Reacts Far Cry Weapons! 😁👍🏻
But good video!
How about: Firearms experts react to hotdogs horseshoes and hand grenades vr? Great realistic game.
Gamespot's done that with the legend that is Johnathon Ferguson.
It's very simple. I see Kevin, I click.
😂
We need more la noire!!
Can you make a video:Crash test expert in BeangDrive?
Whenever FBI is written anywhere, I read it as FIB, every time
Playing too much gta?
@@ikedrakeford7164 i mean, yeah. I have some thousands of hours of experience in it. Also, I'm not from USA, so....
@SunBunz correction a rookie cop who is new to LAPD in the mid to late 40s who rise in the ranks of Police department to head of the homicide detective department.
Video idea: weapon expert react to far cry 2 jaming and weapon break animations
I wanna see ER doctor collab with total recoil so you double the knowledge
How was this not in my recommendations? I nearly consistently watch experts react, while avoiding gamers react, and this video looks cool!
Edit: just watched the video. Kinda underwhelming, but an ok video.
This man is mostly comparing the game to the FBI nowadays x'D
ikr lol
I mean, yeah, what else do you expect him to do lol
@@VisualSilver compare how detective work was back in the day to now, to see how realistic or not the game is. Rather than say the game is wrong because people have rights.
@@cataorshane But he wasn’t alive in the 40s let alone a Cop/FBI Agent. I could be wrong but I doubt they teach them anything from the way it was done in the past unless it pertains to something relevant.
@@_Shay_ I wasn't born in the 80's and I still know about it x'DDDDDD
They should've gotten someone more knowledgeable then
Can you have the sword experts to react to dmc
DMC 4
Oh hey, lemme just... delete my search history first um... uh... yep. Ok here we go :D
It was L.A. in the 40s, your _gun_ was your warrant.
1:30
Well Phelps can do that
cool !!!!
Can you guys have space experts react to Elite Dangerous please
Has anyone considered psychologists react to evil within series?
I'm a huge fan of this game, having said that only like 15% of the searches are warranted and legal. The rest of the game is strong arming and bullying people like an episode of Chicago PD.
I want to see him to the react to all of the GTA games
Agent Norman Jayden, FBI.
yo welcome to earth
It's 2021 already, yet L.A. Noire still surpass some "3A" titles on character facial expression...
@mr Han Man The only game with such amazing facial expression in recent years that I know of is death stranding.
Wouldnt be better to ask for a police detective of L.A to do this ?
Damn..
Dog expert reacts to COD Ghosts Riley and other games.
Well that seems a good idea
Where is the "Real Yakuza react to Yakuza series" video?!
Good game
anyone else realize that the length of this video is “9:11”?
Imma remember my rights the next time I get busted for stealing.
i didnt know what i expect but definitly not a lecture on a human rights
Lawyer & Officer or Detective react to Judgment?
A real or ex-Yakuza reacts to the main series
Martial Artist react to Sifu and all of its trailers
Jason Voorhees reacts to Dead By Daylight!
A real Pinkerton agent react to Pinkerton in RDR2
New vid!!!!
FYI: the face tech in that game was very new at the time and the game itself is sorta a tech demo for it. Thats why the facial expressions are bad.
Engineers react to poly bridge
Martial artists react to King of Fighters XIV pls
I like how the video duration is 9:11 i.e 911
For me it's 9:10
Have somebody react to Detroit become human, the first mission with swat
video idea: have police react to gta5 heists. or real life heisters react to gta5 heists
Already done that, Chris the cop and the bank robber reacted to some heist from gta 5 and payday 2
@@_Shay_ i didnt know that. link? or video title
Police officer reacts to Need For Speed Hot Pursuit
Does this game takes place before Miranda rights were established?
Yes
People forget this game is pretty old already, and the game takes place like 70-80 years ago
20 years before the miranda rights were created
@@DANtheMANofSIPA yeah LA Noire is another timeless game by rockstar, they really make the best games.
@@endingworlds it wasn't by Rockstar originaly
I wouldn’t say forget it’s obvious it’s old and takes place in the mid 1900s, I think people just don’t know the exact decade.
@@just_kris Thanks, the game is badass nonetheless.
Narrative of Self is the result of a feedback loop “Separate Self” & Cosmos🎈
Mr X reacts to nemesis in dbd
FBI OPEN UP
Martial artists react to : The warriors .
Dj's react to Dj Hero
Viking reacts to AC Valhalla
FBI agent and police officer react to Payday 2
Have someone react to the far cry games
FBI man reacting to a cop game, comparing it to modern FBI techniques. This is about as appropriate as an ice cream man reacting to this game
Blame gameology.
Chris would've done a way better job.
A not original idea: a serial killer reacts to let it die
next: a dinosaur reacts to ark survival evolved
you guys should do pubg with cameron
Illegal driver reacts to Need for Speed
Cole Phelps got stuff done, he doesn't care about people's rights.
I want a cop to react to C.R.A.S.H. team in gta san andreas
Norse mythology experts react to god of war
Hope they eventually get the two martial arts dudes to look at Yakuza 7’s Kiwami moves.
I want them to react to fights in Judgement, and/or the QTEs, and/or the EX moves.
@@Gamer88334 Ooh that would be good too. I honestly just want them to look at more moves from RGG studio games lol
Pew pew
Do "Real Terrorists react to Counter Strike: Global Offensive"
I know this is a gaming channel but hear me out...
"Martial Artists react to fight scenes from The Boondocks"
I SAW THE BUSH. REPORTED FOR NUDITY
So who's FBI agent is this
Real border guard reacts to Papers Please
Not a cop or a criminal and I've been in a car chase. Scary but fun shit
Video idea : terrorist react to no russian mission
This game isn't about the FBI. He's an LAPD detective.
@SunBunz correction a rookie cop who is new to LAPD in the mid to late 40s who rise in the ranks of Police department to head of the homicide detective department.
Press
this guys isnt agent anymore becouse everyone know him now xDDD
He's RETIRED.
Does this joker even realize that the game is set in the late 40's?
I mean it’s pretty obvious he knows it’s in the mid 1900s. Find it hard to believe anyone could look at those cars and not realize it’s decades ago. Plus he said time again things were different back then
19th like 👍
