Hey Nath, this is a great idea and how nice you get to try it. I like the subscription idea but I'd be pretty pissed off if they sent me an Aberlour 16. Thankfully you were much more dignified and thankfully they raised their game with the other two. Do you know anything about where the peat comes in the last dram? Does Oz have peat bogs? Sounds like it tastes a bit like Highland peat but not fully.
The peat in Corowa is a little like highland peat, though maybe a little dryer. There is peat in Australia, though they haven’t specified where it came from. Some of our distilleries use local peat, but those going for a more Scottish style whisky will often import already peated grain from Scotland.
