My family and I grew up listening to the LeFevres. Mom loved their music. Thanks for sharing these wonderful memories.

Eva Mae and Alph belonged to my church here in Atlanta. They have been dead for years, but I can still remember Eva Mae’s cackle. She was hilarious and always had a smile on her face. Alph was a gentle soul. When he went into a certain hospital in the area, the hospital had a rather bad reputation, and we begged his wife to use a different hospital, saying that he would never come out alive. He didn’t come out alive. It was a senseless death from something that should have been a minor procedure. We also had The Klaudt Indian Family Singers at our church. I am not much into the gospel type of music, so there possibly were others, but I am not aware. Strangely, our church is known for its……..contemporary Christian music, not really the gospel type, but we ended up with some of everything.

@@Grandolegospelman Elle, at some point stopped coming to Mt. Paran. I am guessing it maybe was a combination of age and health. We sat together every Sunday evening in the Fellowship Hall for supper, but I was not personally privy to her daily goings-on. I lost track of her after she left. In thinking back, wasn’t Eva Mae’s father named Widdington ? Now, I remember him going up and down the aisles each Sunday, shaking hands and talking. This part is interesting. There was a lady named Kay who sat on the same pew as us. Gradually she opened up to say that Brother Widdington ( Sp . ):was her grandfather……but he had never met her. For several years it was so evident that she wanted to introduce herself to him, but was terrified of being rejected. I remember the evening she FINALLY took the step to introduce herself. The two of them went off privately to talk…..missing the entire service. It was the next Sunday that I saw her and she was grinning like a Cheshire Cat from happiness. After that, for years until he died, it was a joy to see them hug eachother each week and talk. The only known relative Kay had up until that point was her son, who was around 20 at that time. She finally felt loved and accepted. Not knowing any of Eva Mae’s immediate family, I have no clue who the Daddy was or where he was. My belief is that Kay is still there today. My own health prevents me from going, so it is only my guess.

@@Grandolegospelman. Mylon came along during the time of “ hard rock Christian music “. He dressed like the hippies and had huge Christian hard rock concerts that made the rest of us cringe ! None of these young folks realized , though, that when Mylon would go home he preferred classical music in his free time. Not sure what Mylon is doing in 2023, but I don’t think he is singing, anymore. Yes, my church is Church of God and very very very conservative. No bench running……we wear slacks, jewelry, and have short hair. But, occasionally someone will still speak in tongues and we absolutely have the best praise and worship services around. Sadly, our pastors no longer teach in depth on prophecy like they did years ago, and this breaks my heart, but they still mention a prophecy or two now and then. Just not in depth teaching, and not asking any Israeli Jews who know prophecy to come in to speak…..like they used to. Those days are all gone, but I was blessed to be there when I was was taught Bible Prophecy from A-Z, and can recall all of it ( Thank you, Jesus ! )
