I met Reba Rambo in Hawaii once. She is a very humble and gracious person. She came to our very small church on a side street in Waikiki and performed for our congregation of about 30 people. I was amazed that she accepted our invitation to come and sing to such a small fellowship group as ours. After her performance she hung around and ate with us and everyone had an opportunity to personally meet and talk with her just as casually as walking up and talking with an old friend. I'll never forget her.

Thank you for sharing this wonderful documentary. I love Dottie Rambo! I actually was there in the audience, in 1994, when Dottie received Songwriter of the Century award! Wow!!! I look back on it now, and can hardly believe that I was actually there. What a privilege it was! I remember as she would share some of the stories behind some of her songs. What an anointing that rested upon her, and still rests upon her music. She was a true reflection of Jesus!! What a beautiful vessel of God she was and still is, pouring into the lives of others, as God poured into her.

As a studio musician in Nashville in the mid-70s, I met Dottie several times and visited her home on certain occasions. She was one of the best individuals I have ever met. She genuinely cared for people. Her success never tainted her vision of why she began and the God she served.

I have loved The Singing Rambos since I was a teenager (I'm 69 now). Their music never gets old. Love of Dottie's songs was one of the reasons I became a dj for a christian radio station back in the 1990s. My personal favorite was Build My Mansion Next Door To Jesus. It was also wonderful to hear Charlie Daniels' voice as the narrator of this documentary. Thank you so much for sharing this program. It truly blessed my heart.

I grew up listening to The Rambos, The Happy Goodmans, and so many others, but The Rambos were always my favorite. I saw them only once in person, but I had every album they made. "In The Valley (He Restoreth My Soul) was my all-time favorite. Then it became all about Reba for me for quite a while, and then (and now) Destiny. What an amazing group of women, and we can thank God for giving Dottie her gift, her complete dedication to and trust in Him, and a daughter and grandchildren to carry on her legacy. She is so happy with our Lord.

I was blessed to hear The Rambo’s in their prime. I ran into Reba in the bathroom in our church little Reba was only maybe 15 and I was 11. I remember looking at her hair thinking my goodness what a full head of hair. I didn’t realize it was a wig at the time. Reba was very shy. ❤️

I cried one day as I watched “The Dottie Rambo on TBN as she described one of her last surgeries on her back!” It truly broke my heart.
I saw the trio when I was a little girl. She wrote songs and I sung them standing on the alter from ages 3 on up. I loved Dottie Rambo the most. Are f you can make a life long last impression on a 5 year old out in the audience you know you’re great! You know it is HOLY SPIRIT!! She had the LORD all in her and around her! She is still living as we still sing her songs so great!

I remember seeing The Rambos on the Gospel Singing Jubilee when I was a kid in the 60s. I didn't care much for southern gospel. Several years later I heard Andrae Crouch sing He Looked Beyond My Fault on his Live At Carnegie Hall album. When I saw that Dottie Rambo wrote it, I was surprised. Thanks for posting.

I remember when i was a small child going to hear The Rambos singing at Stuttgart Arkansas at Bro Buddy Loopers First Pentecostal Church. i was only 6 or 8 in the 1970's. The crowd was massive there were cars lined up forever on both sides of the road in both directions. My Mother (Myrna Loy Taylor) has sung her songs and recorded them all my life. Her songs have been a blessing in all gospel music for my whole life. God truly annointed her songs.

I also saw the Rambos in Stuttgart but it would’ve been around 1964-65. I was 5-6 years got to hug Dottie that night and remember that to this day. I am now 65 years old so you can tell what an impression that made on me over oh so many years. I listen to all the 70s and 80s rock, but the Rambos always remain in my collection; their songs bring back many wonderful memories.

I used to sing solos in my little church and it seemed that almost every song I sang was a Dottie Rambo song. Build My Mansion Next Door to Jesus, Tears Will Never Stain the Streets of the City, Mama's Teaching Angels How to Sing, If That Isn't Love, The Holy Hills of Heaven Calls Me and He Restoreth my Soul were my favorites. One Sunday I sang and after church a lady told me she was glad that I sang a song in tribute to Dottie Rambo and she went on to say what a tragedy it was that Dottie had been killed in an accident that very morning She thought that's the reason I was singing that song but I had not turned on my TV or radio so I had not even heard that Dottie had been in the accident and it was purely coincidence that I sang one of her songs that morning.
I never tried to sing it in church but I think maybe my favorite song by her was Love Letters. I first heard Love Letters performed by Joanne Cash Yates who is the sister of Johnny Cash. Joanne does a beautiful job on that song and I instantly fell in love with it. When Dottie picked up her pen and started to write a song she was truly inspired which is why her music was such a huge success. I don't think I need to even add that I LOVED her songs.

Thank You for posting this Enormously Inspiring Biography! As a lifelong Songwriter, (since 1963), who has written many Gospel Songs, and has been down that rough & rocky road that, for some reason, we think "God shouldn't allow", her journey is an absolute affirmation of my own. I have thought, "Well, I've really blown it this time! God will never forgive me for this!", only to find His Love on an even deeper level. In 2018 I should have died... according to several Heart Surgeons who said, "Not ONE of us expected you to survive!" While flat on my back, as Dottie discovered, I learned more about His Love and Grace and Mercy than I had in A N Y other situation! This is titled, "Dottie Rambo...." but it could very well be titled, "God's Love & Mercy go WAAAAY beyond our religion!"

As a kid, every time time a new Rambo’s album would come out, I’d use my saved-up childhood allowance and be the first in-line at my gospel Music Store and buy it. I’d go home and listen to it over and over until I’d memorize every song on that album, along with every part. And, when the Rambo’s came to my town for a concert, I’d BEG to go. Always, we’d be the first ones there. To this day, I have an album that was signed by Reba, Dottie and Buck at a concert they did at Broadmoor High School in Baton Rouge, LA. And, if that wasn’t enough, I was ecstatic when they showed up at Shoney’s on Airline Hwy @ Greenwell Street, it made my night! The impact that the Rambo’s had on me cannot be put into words. THANK YOU! God used you guys to have a positive effect on my lives. Forever grateful.

This was a wonderful documentary. I learned so much about the lady I came to love and to sing along with the albums that my daddy bought. I was a young teen when I first heard of Dolly and she inspired me so much. I went to a gospel sing in my small town and got to meet her . I know she has been gone for a while now, but her music still has a big place in my heart. She now, is in the Lord's presence for eternity, and I plan to see her there when it's my turn to go home. If anyone reading this doesn't know the Lord, please make Jesus the Savior of your soul. He gave His precious life for you. God bless!

I was inspired beyond words by this documentary! As a Songwriter since 1963 who's written many Gospel Songs, her Life gave affirmation to mine, if that makes any sense. For some reason, I've thought, "Well, I'm serving the Lord. Why would He allow this". (Whatever tragedy came along.) Jesus said, "In the world, you WILL have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." If I may, I was inspired by your comment, and would like to share a song that I hope will inspire you. May God Truly Bless you through it. th-cam.com/video/HHOMimxvbW4/w-d-xo.html

She was one of my singing idols. I tried to copy her singing with her songs and mine but without success. Loved her and her family's singing. Very anointed by God.

I truly loved watching this video of Dottie's as this was Mom's favorite gospel singers. Dottie was truly inspired by God. I remember the day she died and Mom rejoiced with her in Heaven..

Dottie Rambo held one of the most anointed and sacred pens in Gospel music history. Many of the songs Dottie wrote were written through experiences, prayer moments or at the spurring of the Holy Spirit she had been through and they are all beautiful songs.

    Waoooooo
What a life worthy of emulation.
She knew God God quite early in life and served God till her last breath.
I am always connected more to God each time I listen to her music.Far beyond melody, the Lyrics are inspiring and encouraging.
    Sleep on Dottie.
