Who are the Rohingya?

  • The Rohingya are the biggest stateless community in the world
meaning they aren't citizens of Myanmar or any country
Without a nationality, they can't travel freely or find jobs
They also struggle to access formal education
Since the late 1970s, over a million Rohingya have fled violence in Myanmar in successive waves of displacement.
The latest exodus began in August 2017 when violence broke out
in Myanmar’s Rakhine State, driving more than 700,000 to seek refuge in Bangladesh.
Most walked for days through jungles and mountains
or braved dangerous sea journeys across the Bay of Bengal
They arrived exhausted, hungry and sick
    - in need of international protection and humanitarian assistance
Most of those who arrived sought shelter in and around the refugee camps of Kutupalong and Nayapara in Bangladesh’s Cox’s Bazar district
Some joined relatives but most came with nothing.
    New spontaneous settlements sprouted overnight
The scale of the influx put pressure on the host community and already overstretched facilities and services.
But the Bangladesh government responded generously throughout the crisis and local Bangladeshi people took in the new arrivals and spared no effort to help.

You say the Rohingya culture is "thousands of years" old??? The Prophet Muhammad died in 632 and Islam started spreading after that. The Islamic onslaught into the Indian subcontinent only started about eight hundred years ago. The Rohingya are Muslims. So there is no way their culture is "thousands of years old." The British were the core troublemakers in the entire Rohingya story: they (the British) ABANDONED the Rohingya despite big promises to them for having served the British in many ways.

There is a flood in Pakistan at the moment. But Sindh province has been the most affected. 60% population of Sindh has been affected due to flood. People's crops and pets have been swept away in the flood. People don't have food. There is a shortage of clean drinking water more than food. People are in dire need of food, water, tents and infant milk at this time. We appeal to the whole world and UNO to help the flood victims in Pakistan. Otherwise, there will be a lot of damage. Especially the people of Sindh should be helped immediately. People have suffered a lot of financial loss. 🇵🇰
