  • Last weekend Kate and I camped near Lake Placid New York for three nights and hiked around Heart Lake, Hurricane Mountain Firetower and Big Slide Mountain. It was a great little trip and we had a lot of fun. Thanks for watching!

Hey, no I don’t have any plans out there for the summer! One day I’d like to bring the 4Runner out there though

Hello, I recently discovered your channel and enjoyed learning about Up State New York. I am heading to West Virginia via New York State from Canada and noticed you camped in designated wild camping spots. Can you tell me how you found out about these and what do they cost? I look forward to discovering more beautiful places via your channel. Best Wishes Amanda

Hey! I don’t know how I missed this comment. We really try to stay in free campsites as much as we can. This site didn’t cost anything. We primarily rely on the iOverlander app to find free campsites. I also just search for blog posts/random outdoor/travel websites about camping in certain areas if I’m really trying to plan and find good spots. I also look around at national forest maps to try to find designated dispersed camping areas. I hope this helps! Good luck with your travels! Or if you already traveled then I hope your trip went well!
