I went into a fever dream and did a whole write up for this album because man I love this stuff. “What if”: The start of the album and definitely the overarching element presented is her father, maybe the gentleman? There’s this sense of hope in the piece like a realization that dawns on you late, or a feeling of Deja Vu that makes you miss what was. Or in this case what could be. “He could be my dad you guys!” “Duplicity”: When I listened to this one I imagine Jester using Duplicity to keep her company when she was alone. When her only best friend is kinda this intangible being of power, and you spend your time stuck in your room, if you’re gonna talk to yourself, might as well do it face to face. I’m loving this solemn feeling I’m getting from the album so far. “Everybody has a crush on Jester”: This one is such a good amalgamation of clever percussion sounds that add to the overall Jester “sound” I suppose. The spraying of paint cans, the turning of pages in a sketchbook and the scribbling of writing, all show her creativity and passion. Something that, of course would attract everyone. I mean who DOESN’T like Jester. Painted Field of Flowers 2: I’m unsure of whether to attach motifs to characters or not since we haven’t seen everything you have in mind, but I’m loving the solid bass/synth that just runs underneath this whole piece, and the occasion sounds of a cloud movement in the sky(?). The synth makes so much sense as, like Yasha, there’s this low rumbling, like thunder in a cloud that’s waiting for the bottom to drop out. Great mix of instruments. “If he doesn’t want me then I don’t want him”: The nice chiptune or Jester fades away in this peace, leaving a hurt piano. This feels like a direct response to “What if?”. That hope is being shot down and just snuffed, like a world is crumbling down all over again on you. The dialogue from all the Nein coming to comfort her throughout the piece feels so sweet, but it almost seems like goes in one ear and out the other. And with the sounds of kids playing on a park, that vision of a childhood she never had rests in her mind. Love(from another life): Man that crescendoing WHATEVER that is that goes on this piece is so good, it’s almost like a bee that’s constantly flying in your ear, bothering you, or sneaking up on you. Everything that Jester has been searching for clashes with everything The Gentleman has been running from. The whole piece is the first feelings, those first moments, where everything for you has changed. And it’s confusing, and scary... “I sent you so many messages”: ...But when things calm down. You’re just happy that finally, you’ve got what you wanted. You feel you can rest. Weight of your shoulders. The path is clear. Things finally make sense, and you’ve made new family. Family you always you knew you had. “Hands”: Pheww, the tension racks up. Almost humorously, the piece sounds... playfully dramatic? She’s threatening to offer up her hands. And you’re worried, and things seem dire.. but she seems.. calm? Collected? Almost.. devious sounding? “Have you ever had a blueberry cupcake?”: By the time you catch on, it’s too late, and she’s completely duped you. We all talk about moments that really define characters, their titular line or scene. This was Jesters moment. Even In her trickery, it was not malicious. She left a horrible hag happier then when she found them. She changes people. “Beneath the hood”: This sounds like opening a present on your birthday, or walking into your job before finding out you’re getting a promotion. The mystery of your best friend finally revealed, yeah, he’s not a god, and that’s kinda hard, but he trusts you more then anything to tell you this secret. How awesome is that? “I’ll see you at Traveler Con 3000”: The big day is upon us! Everything we’ve waited for is coming this Thursday and we couldn’t be more excited. What’s nice is that in this song it’s almost as if we return to this pure joy that was felt all in “Wonderful little seed of Joy and Chaos”. “I hope you know how special you are”: Finally to cap it all of, this albums “Nein song”. I love that it’s Yasha who starts it off, almost calling back to the support she received from Jester in “Painted wall of flowers 2”. And from there the support grows. She deserves it, all of it. This family is infused with such love for one another, and that’s not gonna change. Not for anyone. Having written this while listening for the first time, I am again impressed with your penchant for tone, storytelling and instrumentation. In the same way that “Refjorged” felt like the logical continuation of “Fathoms, this just feels like a more grown up Jester and really grown up you. You’ve grown a lot in your ability and like Jester, and all the Nein, continue to grow in your works. My favorite is definitely Love(from another life). Great release timing given the story right now and I’m excited for more!

The best part about these playlists is that they're actually interesting to listen to, without taking too much of my focus, so 40-60 minutes go by real fast, and a do a lot of work without getting bored

iv never been able to get into critical roll though I have tried several times. but I enjoy these immensely. it's like vague hints at stories I'm unfamiliar with. kinda like playing through a dark souls game or somthing. putting together a loose narrative based on the feel of the music, the title, and the chosen lines put in each track. and it helps that your compositions are top notch. thank you for your artistic contributions and keep up the good work!!!
Seed of Joy and Chaos has a special place for me because it kept me sane during my exam months. But duplicity is on a different level entirely.
