      Which Andrea has the more extreme effect between the black edition and the rubber video above?
      and which one is more comfortable to use to attack using the backhand?

    • @AndreaAschi

      SG black has a slightly better disruptive effect.
      Regarding which one is the most comfortable to attack, I would tell you the one in this video, but it is a personal opinion based on my experience. It may not necessarily be the same for you 😉

      It's a A-B-S (1) topsheet.
      The sponge is the 2.3mm pink one by SpinlabItalia.

      @tomtrana3449 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      A few years ago I started with the A-B-S. I was looking for an optimization and found it with the "Transformer" from 'Der Materialspezialist' in Germany (Note: It has to be the Transformer! (because there is also a version called “Extra slow” it' s too slow :-)).
      btw The thicker the sponge, the slower the transformer is.

    He actually handled the antispin relatively well. It was the complete lack of counter attack from the forehand that was the problem in my view.

    just a hint: antispin has one very nasty aspect to it. it slows down the ball and changes its trajectory. so you do not jut have to deal with spin issue, but also with unusually short falling ball, this is hard for someone that plays a lot of regular drills, the feed of their anticipation and the right positioning for the sweet spot hitting point. once you take that element out and use it well tactically u always have an advantage. against experienced and versatile players it would get very hard, especially i recognised how high you put the ball back with that antispin backhand. that could shoot back at you dangerously. very well played though.

    Omg, the one with the antispin has a mind-blowing illegal serve, ball resting on fingers, starting the serve with ball inside the table,, his left arm blocking the view of the ball and that is the less vertical throw in TT history.

  • @lgeiger
    @lgeiger 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    You should use your backhand topspin more often. Antispin can be really nasty if the antispin player also has a decent backhand. A good example would be Luka Mladenovic. I personally prefer more of a Kreanga-like playstyle, but that's the beauty of table tennis. There are so many different playstyles. Truls Möregårdh is a great example as well with his crazy counter smashes and weird nospin-blocks. A few years ago a lot of people said he wouldn't be able to compete on that level with his grip and look how far he got already.

    • @jiriguran7959
      @jiriguran7959 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      One of the most creative player with anti is Amirezza Abbasi. He isn't that good defender, that's his big downside. But he plays mostly at the table, turns the blade sides, can block and spin with the sharp side (with backhand when turned the blade) and can semi-attack (side push) with anti.

  • @Pochalsky
    @Pochalsky 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    hey, excellent video. I have a question, why dont you try to recieve with the anti spin on the forehand? that would give you more diversity to make depective your game, like fabian akerstrom, with long pimples on forehand.

      @AndreaAschi  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Joaquin!

  • @lilmoesk899
    @lilmoesk899 ปีที่แล้ว

    Close match! I believe that even though you had trouble reading the anti returns, you could have easily attacked his half-long serves during the match. If you didn't feel comfortable with his anti-block, then you could have given him heavy spin into his forehand.

    More than anything your opponent really needs to practice service, 3rd ball against a player with anti spin. The most important thing you do when you serve to someone with anti or pips is to think before you serve "if this goes to the anti it's coming back with this spin" so you know exactly how to play it.

    1:27. This is how you handle misses you know you should have hit. Essentially little to no reaction. This blonde haired opponent just hasn't learned that yet. You show your displeasure that much and it's like blood in the water, plus the negative self talk hurts you too, for opponents.

    I absolutely agree with those who say that antispin and pimples out is just a short cut for those who wants to win without training. No need to learn how to receive serves (the biggest part of the game), no need to learn how to handle incoming spin. Just 2 technical elements push and chopblock instead of like 10-20 technical elements required with the pimples in rubbers. It’s ok, you can play whatever you want, but maaan, these people always say how hard it actually is to play with antispin/pimplesout. They literally gaslighting everyone around, including themselves.

    • @felixschwarze6821
      @felixschwarze6821 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Wrong, I played 6 years with inverted rubber and recently changed to long pips. Long pips are way harder, the amount of different strokes you need to learn, the feeling you need to get and when to use those strokes are way harder than any inverted player has to master. In my opinion, inverted rubber users are lazy, it’s easy to use, understand and the strokes are so simple. I used to hate long pips but now I have deep respect for them.

    Time and time again you see the blue shirt player playing a top spin, the ball is returned off the anti, and he immediately dumps the ball into the net, not realising that the ball now has back spin.
    Always check your opponents rubbers before a match.

    • @sebu1301
      @sebu1301 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      His opponent is on the national team, he sure knows what spin is on the ball lol. It's just that the amount of backspin is a lot more than he expects. A heavy ball like that needs to be ''lifted'', not pushed back. What I mean is, you have to put the racket completely flat under the ball and tap the ball straight up.

    The attacking player has alright technical skills, but he has difficulty reading and handling spin. Makes far to many mistakes, number one is that he constantly lets the antiball drop instead of hitting it at its highest point. Makes a similar mistake when blocking the spinny forehand loop and it goes to long far to often. Mistake number three, he try’s way to difficult shots considering the kind of opponent he’s facing. A young players usual mistakes I’d say

    • @AndreaAschi
