Good morning from Alabama. Thank you for sharing your knowledge about the blueberries. We bought our property in Alabama about 10 yrs ago and the place was so grown over that we did not realize we had several bushes. God blessed us with this property. I hope that we are always good stewards over it.
I love seeing grandchildren eating out of the garden. My 20 month old great granddaughter ate the peas and carrots when they came in. I can’t wait for all the cherry tomatoes to ripen so she can get some of those. Your blueberries look amazing! Our little bush isn’t doing much of anything.
Your blueberries are beautiful! If you run a belt or piece of rope through the bucket handle and fasten it around your waist, you have both hands free. A trick my dad taught me. Works for raspberries, saskatoon and more.
My Favorite fruit is blueberries. If I had blueberries, I could eat them every morning with my yogurt. I need to get a blueberry plant soon. God is good.
Growing Rabbit Eye in Texas. So delicious. My Boysenberry’s are coming in as well. BlackBerrys are loaded. Now if I could just get my tomatoes to set.

We planted three bushes this year. Hoping they do good
Nice! My plants are small, only a year old, looking forward to blueberries in the future.
My soil is not conducive to growing blueberries, so mine are in pots and doing well. The first variety to produce had small berries, but lots of them. The second variety is just now flowering. The third one I just picked up at Lowe’s. I try to buy varieties that produce at different times to extend the harvest.

Those blueberry bushes look wonderful.. we planted 4 bushes this year of Premiere and..sorry, can't remember but they are doing well.
Can you believe that we are already Cherry picking in VA?? How crazy is that- I already have zucchini and tomatoes flowering...in the middle of May...seriously weird 🤔

Its interesting seeing the difference in climate compared to what i have here in central pa. The raspberries just started to blossom this past weekend. Apples are hanging fruit now and are 2 weeks past petal fall. The tomatoes and sweet corn are getting planted this week. Strawberries are blossoming and starting fruit set. That will be our first fruit. Blueberries wont be ready to pick until end of june

We're blessed to have a Blueberry U-pick farm at the bottom of our ridge. Raspberries will be ready up on our ridge in a couple weeks.

Oh, how I wish the native soil around here would support blueberries! It's just not acidic enough. Alas, any hope of growing them is in pots or in highly amended native soil. ENJOY the "fruits" of your labor!!

Your blueberries are beautiful. I am definitely not doing something that I should for ours. The bushes just don't grow. This is their 3rd year since we put them in and they just won't grow. What are we doing wrong? Keeping Mr Buddy and Miss Lippy in prayer 🙏 ❤ God bless you guy's
Look up your variety. Some stay small. Also, something like third year they take off.
Could be variety or soil pH could be wrong.

I fertilize mine with azaela food in early spring, they like acid soil. I do have one bush out of 30 that does not grow in height at all.
We've been enjoying our blueberries as well.

Beautiful I have to say you do so well!!!!. I had hopes last year of growing them. Chose 2 varieties for this area. Bought 3 plants they looked good for awhile, but i guess even tho i checked ph, and thought i did right, between the Sulphur/holly?--I must not of got something right-they died mid summer. I would have loved to doit but for me they are too tricky for a porch in pots to grow. God Bless!!!

Danny, maybe a kangaroo type pouch would work better for you since you can't hang
anything around your neck. I made something with a empty veg can on yarn dangles to pick the black raspberries at our local lake, many years ago. Some years later I saw commercial variations of that design. LOL.

we just planted 10 blueberry bushes in our new homestead here in SC, are those bushes the rabbit eye type, thats what I was told I needed to plant here in the southeast
Me bushes are loaded but still green when they do turn the wife picks and eats the ones on top and the dog picks and eats the ones on the bottom
I know only too well what you mean about not having pressure on the back of your neck. Since I was in the car accident that now has me using a walker, I not only can’t wear even a thread as a necklace, I can’t even wear an open collar shirt that isn’t tucked in.
Mine are not quite ripe hear on the coast. No clue why. Haha!

Did you have to plant the bushes in acidic soil? I made a separate bed for mine because I was told they had to have specific soil type but all plants didn’t make it. So upset.
I've never been a fan of blueberries, unless it's in like a premix of some sort. Store bought blueberries just taste bad. Out of 3 plants I planted last yr, one is hanging on. I'm hoping they are good, because I plan on getting more to plant/grow.
I am way down south and blueberries don't grow well here. I find it very sad that the stores sell blueberries from Calif. or Mexico when Miss. is so close to us. Why can't we get blueberries from Miss. here in Louisiana? Frustrating.

I have young blueberry plants about 3 years old but only a few blueberries. What am I doing wrong? I made sure not to plant too deep.
Test the soil, especially the pH. Otherwise, as you said, they are YOUNG. You don’t cut lumber from acorns, either. Only time will change that.
Blueberries are the only berry I don't particularly like. The taste is good, it's the texture I don't care for.
