It took me over a year in the process till I decided to just give up. I completed everything they wanted. Then after this last law passed more than a year. After I first applied, they sent me this notice to go for a psych evaluation at my own cost of $150. With all this delay my qualification from the range is no longer valid so I will have to pay another $200 to do it again. Then on top of that I have to pay the state fees for it. and with all that being said, they’ve outlaw, just about anywhere you can carry anyway. I stopped, and I’m moving out of state. And actually La Mirada is in Orange County. I am in Orange County and your information is very in accurate
LA County.. application fiiled 10 22. Face to face scheduled for 4 23. Received an email scheduled to 10 23.. did the live scan .. still waiting for another 6 months 😢 Live in a city patrolled by the LASD.
I applied with LASD 2/18/24 and have my scheduled interview July 2025. I was told to live scan right after submitting my application which I did not even a week after. Haven’t heard anything since.
Don't loose hope I apply Oct 2022 and I just got a call Sept 1 2024 almost 2 years and they told me it will be another 2 to 3 months for interview. So almost 2.5 years .
How long does it take to get your final call, after you email LASD your CCW firearm training certificate to them? Just curious. Im waiting for that final call.
FYI residents of Riverside County. If you were denied a CCW and you're a law abiding citizen and can pass a background check to buy a firearm listen up and remember this when it's time to vote and contact CRPA and Michele and Associates if you were denied in any county in CA. Sheriff Chad Bianco and his CCW scheme in Riverside California are violating law abiding citizens rights and denying permits. Others and myself have been denied and I'm a former FFL, have an active out-of-state CCW, no drug or psychological history, i can pass a NICS and buy firearms in California, well trained here in Riverside and AZ, yet i was denied my permit.. The investigator was very rude to me treated me with blatant disrespect and made it a point to call and insult me and shout at me when i asked him about an appeal through an email. In my Honest opinion that investigator needs a psychological evaluation and shouldn't be carrying a weapon. He's a very angry man. 🤷 Let's remember this when it's time to vote. He's a lying politician. They allow criminals to run around with disregard for the law rule disarming good citizens who pay over $30,000 in taxes every year.
BREAKING!!! Supreme Court 6-3 Decision Demands Elimination of Carry Bans & Is Defied By 9th Cir.! IT IS NOW ILLEGAL AS OF JAN 1ST 2024 TO CONCEAL CARRY IN CALIFORNIA!!!!!!!!!!! LOOK UP SP2 LAW 🤬🤬🤬
The whole process cost as much as a price of a gun and it only last 2 years. They make you jump through so many hoops to get it. Not worth the trouble. In other state I pay $50 flat and got my permit in a few weeks, no interview, no classes, no references and it last 5 years. For my county in CA, it will cost $680 and it only last 2 years. Some other counties has to pay over $1000 to get their CCW. The insane price is basically a form of prohibition on guns against the working class who can't afford that.
I was just denied my CCW in Ventura County never even received interview denied December 15th, 2023. Denial email: We have reviewed your application for License to Carry a Concealed Weapon (CCW). The law of the State of California provides that “…the Sheriff of a county or city within the county may issue a license to that person upon proof of…Good cause and or good moral character, for the issuance of a license. (Penal Code Section 26150(a)(2). Penal Code Section 26180 also states that “any person filing an application required by section 26175 knowing that statements contained therein are false, is guilty of a misdemeanor or felony. Based on one or more of the following, your application for a CCW has been denied. Moral Character - Lack of good moral character includes, but is not limited to, arrests, convictions, traffic citations, law enforcement contacts, financial responsibility, integrity and/or truthfulness/cooperation during the application process. my note: penal code26150, violates my civil rights. Interjecting convictions which occurred over 11 years ago, as a bar based on lack of good moral character, violates the 14th amendment by preventing me from exercising my 2nd second amendment right to keep and bear arms in public for self-defense. I then asked the sheriff captain reason for denial. I’d be happy to provide you with some context as to the reasoning behind your CCW denial. I see on your application you answered, “I do not understand the question or know if I have or have not?” to Question #10, which reads, “Have you ever been convicted of any criminal offense (Civilian or Military) in the U.S. or any other country?” You also answered identically to the above to Question #16, which reads, “List any arrest or formal charges, with or without disposition, for any criminal offenses within the U.S. or any other country (civilian or military).” The questions are clear, simple, and are in no way confusing. Our records indicate you do have prior arrests from 2013 (and a conviction for which you served 36 months of probation) Your application was denied because you failed to list this information on your application. My note: with, ("At the time I did not know if I have or have not") "one opinion doesn't apply to all" by saying: "The questions are clear, simple, and are in no way confusing". - thought both cases were dismissed and not on my record. I did not do a background check on myself. A CCW can be denied in California if: • The applicant has been arrested in the last five years, regardless of the disposition. The applicant has been convicted in the last seven years. (2013 cases)- Past 5 and 7 years - total 11 years ago 1. dismissed- misdemeanor - Lost evidence 2. convicted misdemeanor - Plead guilty deal to protect employment but still thought was removed and dismissed with a early release off probation. I assumed both cases were dismissed and no longer on my record making the question hard to understand as far as how to put down a truthful answer accurately. Feel my rights have been violated and it's a bogus excuse to immediately deny me of my rights under the constitution.

they asked you to get a psych eval? why and how? that doesn't make sense
Have you been living under a rock, muh dude? New laws just went into effect a month or two ago
Ccw permit is a scheme implemented by tyrants. A right delayed is a right denied.
Just got approved for live fire training yesterday! I applied Jun 2022 with the LASD.
How long after you submitted your application did they reach out to you?
LA County.. application fiiled 10 22. Face to face scheduled for 4 23. Received an email scheduled to 10 23.. did the live scan .. still waiting for another 6 months 😢 Live in a city patrolled by the LASD.
Gotta go through the process
I don't think I heard you mention anything about Riverside County.
Already 14mos in LA County! Who is getting their CCW in 10 mos? I'm told they take applications in order of submission.
I applied with LASD 2/18/24 and have my scheduled interview July 2025.
I was told to live scan right after submitting my application which I did not even a week after.
Haven’t heard anything since.
Do you have a class that will walk me through getting my ccw ?
We have a right to bear arms. If that can be given and taken away, its not a right, but a privilege.
I turned in my application to the L.A. county Sheriff on 12-30-2022. It is 9-9-2023 and still no word from the Sheriff...🤦
You need to sue them
I just lost hope
May be up to the counties. I'm in northern California and its been relatively straight forward. It takes time though
Over 2 years
Don't loose hope I apply Oct 2022 and I just got a call Sept 1 2024 almost 2 years and they told me it will be another 2 to 3 months for interview. So almost 2.5 years .
Thanks for the info brother
What if I already have my CCW but I got it with the sheriff dept and I live in Los Angeles do I need to apply with LAPD too?
What's the point🤷♂️ LAPD and sheriff will revoke my CCW if I ever have to use my weapon like what happened to Vince Ricci
You applied for the privilege. They permitted you to bear arms only because you petitioned.
They probably will. But you live to fight another day.
Do you know the updates in riverside county? Wait time and if I take controlled substance through medical doctor.
Do you still need to write a Good Cause letter when applying?
No
no thats why the big rush.
how different is it in bay area?
What about San Bernardino county?
How long does it take to get your final call, after you email LASD your CCW firearm training certificate to them? Just curious. Im waiting for that final call.
What about San Bernardino County? I bet that would be were most people would need a CCW like me 😂
Can ccw background check see if you were in the military too or does it just check for crimes?
it is difficult, what are you talking about.
I was wondering if you could help me apply for my license also in SF
$3500.00 in ventura ca. All good

FYI... When you apply for a permit you are voluntary exchanging your right to bear 🐻 arms for a privilege to bear 🐻 arms.
@TheTongman
You need to stop kissing the states a$$ you don't need any kind of permit. I will use the 2nd amendment for my permit, thank you.
It is just an awful mess. If I applied now, I would get it right before I died of old age.
