    I’m so glad I found this! I don’t have wood or electric saws. I cannot wait to do this. You said ink wax, I’ve only ever heard of ink colored paint but I’ll find it! TFS!!!

    Love this! New subscriber. I was watching Sammie over at Unicorn Dust Designs and she mentioned that she learned how to do this technique from you and suggested to her subscribers that we hop over and check you out. So glad I did! I will definitely try this. Looks great!! 😊

    OMG.....all I can say is Thank you!!! I literally watched the first half of this video, paused it, went to Walmart and bought the Waverly clear wax, and Truffle color.(they were out of ink and antique) and Dollar Tree to buy the sponges, foam board and paint brushes. Came home and cut the boards and did this project and LOVED it!!
    Once it dries, I'm chalking on it with my new Chalk Couture chalks!!!! Amazing!!!! Thank you soooo much again!!! Like you say, the whole decor world has opened up very easily!!!

      Waverly is sold by Wal-Mart, it is made by Plaid for them.

    Love this ❤️ the commercials at the end drove me crazy... trying to keep up with the measurements ( how the board was cut) in between the commercials was a lil frustrating lol but over all the project was great hopefully I got the basics and can figure it out without having to rewatch the video🤞🏻

    just found your video while trying to make a sign for my daughters wedding. You instructions are so clear and your technique is great. Couldn't find Waverly antique so I used DecoArt Americana creme wax. My "wood" came out great! new Subscriber!

    Is the ink(black) a bottle of wax or chalk paint? I have the antique wax and am wondering if my Waverly Ink chalk paint will work. I still need to get the clear wax.

    Love this but have a question. If I did this technique would vinyl stick to it? I can picture making my own 'wood' pieces to put vinyl sayings on!

      Yes it will, I even did a tutorial video for it.th-cam.com/video/uIb2Sa0N5rQ/w-d-xo.html

    Would a plastic bottle cap work for the curved indentations? I too don’t have long fingernails to use. 😊

    • @ThePeppermintCactus
      @ThePeppermintCactus  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That may work, I have also used the cutical tool from the Dollar Tree makeup aisle. Others have used the round end of the silver metal craft brushes from Dollar Tree.

    Can you tell me please where you got the tool you are using to cut your popsicle sticks? What are they called and will they cut a stir stick? Thanks!

    • @ThePeppermintCactus
      @ThePeppermintCactus  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are called angled miter shears, they are from Amazon. Yes, they will cut a stir stick, I use them to cut up to 1/2 inch dowels.

    • @ThePeppermintCactus

      Try finding Folk Art Hime Decor clear wax, it is the equivalent of Waverly, both are made by Plaid.

      Its not an actual stapler, its one of the clay modeling tools from Dollar Tree, I use it to poke holes to simulate staple holes.

    4” planks are bowing after painting. Any suggestions?

    • @ThePeppermintCactus
      @ThePeppermintCactus  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You want the least amount of moisture applied as possible, so you may need to experiment a few times to find that right amount of paint and wax that you need for the look you want without the excessive moisture

    • @crystalgleasonrichard1614
      @crystalgleasonrichard1614 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! I was able to bend them straight by increments of inches from one side to the other without marring the front. Saved!
