Honestly: What disappointed me was the fact that they ruined Shang Tsung's Aftermath ending... If you've played "Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath", then you'll noticed that the game had the option where you could decide who would ultimately rule the New Era: Fire God Liu Kang or Shang Tsung. In Liu Kang's ending, he defeats Shang Tsung and creates his New Era and peace and prosperity, leading to the events of "MK1". In Shang Tsung's ending, he absorbs Fire God Liu Kang's soul, becomes a Titan, creates his New Era, and launches a conquest against all the realms; it then ends with Raiden and Fujin telling Titan Shang Tsung that Earthrealm, Outworld, and Netherrealm had been conquered and that Chaosrealm and Orderrealm (which had hardly been explored since "Deception" by the way) were next. You get the picture? The ending hinted at the possibility of a "What if Shang Tsung won in 'Aftermath'?" kind of game where Chaosrealm and Orderrealm are the last line of resistance and the only hope left in stopping Titan Shang Tsung's tyranny. And, in all honesty, that would've been the PERFECT game! (Just have Tecmo-Koei/Omega Force make the game in the style of "Dynasty Warriors", create some brand new Chaosrealm/Orderrealm-originated Kombatants, have them fight with/against the Klassic Kombatants we know and love, and the game is complete.) But then, "MK1" revealed that not only did BOTH Fire God Liu Kang and Titan Shang Tsung both create their own universes...but that Titan Shang Tsung is now eyeing to conquer Liu Kang's universe. Basically, if they weren't got going to continue Shang Tsung's "Aftermath" ending, then NRS should NOT have pretended that there WERE (OR, at the very least, they should've left Shang Tsung's "Aftermath" ending open to the imagination). This means that my "What if Shang Tsung won in 'Aftermath'?" dream game will never be made because we obviously know how it's going to end: Titan Shang Tsung conquers Chaosrealm and Orderrealm then sets his sights on Liu Kang's universe (and YES, by the way: I'm saying "universe", NOT "timeline"). Why couldn't Shang Tsung's "Aftermath" ending just end with Raiden and Fujin saying that ALL realms (including Chaosrealm and Orderrealm) were now under Titan Shang Tsung's control (annihilate all hope in Titan Shang Tsung being stopped). THEN the multiverse concept would've made a LITTLE bit more sense. Instead, Titan Shang Tsung's "Aftermath" ending led to NOTHING. And THAT felt like the BIGGEST missed opportunity in "Mortal Kombat" history to me (especially considering how little popularity "Mortal Kombat" has in Japan).
I think they messed up his voice. I think he's supposed to sound like the way he sounds with the mask on but they forgot to take off the filter or something when he doesn't have it on in the story lol.

It started off so humble and grounded with farming and character development, i was expecting it stay logical especially with the empasis on keeping diplomatic relations between the realms. When it turned out to be a 2nd timeline shang tsung i was like okay fine, but when the infinite multiverse came out it was like welp, off into the deep end it goes, and into meaninglessness, and purposelessness. Everyone is disposable and replacable and irrelevant and nothing anyone does is permanent either.
We saw some of this in Mortal Kombat 11 where Sonya dies and she gets replaced by a younger version of herself and the rest of the game is like "Everything's okay and fine, we have a new Sonya!" but like...OUR Sonya we've been following since MK9 is dead. they spent little time on her death too. It's probably going to get worse in the next game.
I don't think I agree with this. That younger version of Sonya isn't our Sonya, at least if the other Sonya dies then comes back we still have that history and character development with her.

Johnny and Kung Lao restraining Mileena : 10 seconds before Mileena knocks out Kung Lao, scares Johnny off, then blinds the man that just moments ago beat up a water wizard, whatever Tanya is and Mileena herself.
Shang Tsung's facial expressions in this game are frickin hilarious, especially because these weird distorted faces of his are often followed-up by him asking the same question: "Can I afford to _________?" 😂😂😂
The face he makes at the beginning of the game is probably the funniest expression in the Mortal Kombat series. creepy little face keeps zooming in with every lightning strike, then we get hit with the logo of the game lol.
CORRECTION: 20:07 - Sindel was only evil in MK11. In the original timeline, she died, was resurrected, and was put under a spell by Shao Kahn that made her evil until she eventually broke free and reunited with Kitana. In the reboot trilogy, her MK9 biography stated that she sacrificed herself to save Earthrealm from Shao Kahn, confirming that she was good from the beginning, until she was resurrected and put under the spell just like in MK3. But in MK11, apparently she was evil this whole time, which not only retconned her MK9 biography, but assassinated her good guy character from before. She's not "good now" she's "good again". Why didn't Liu Kang give Sindel a shitty life too? My guess because the developers realized that "Sindel was evil this whole time" was moronic, and they heard the backlash loud and clear. And probably because she wasn't as big of a threat as Quan Chi and Shang Tsung (Which leaves you wondering why Liu didn't give General Shao a shitty life either).

100% had the same feeling. It just cheapened the entire Liu Kang timeline story. I wouldn’t mind the multiverse thing as much if they took it more seriously and didn’t have all these weird obvious joke characters like Stung Lao, Quan Chill, and female Johnny Cage falling into the soul pit. It just made it look cheap and like some crazy wacky parody of MK. It was definitely super messy and I hope they like don’t try and continue the story with this timeline crap.

I think Mortal Kombat would REALLY benefit from a split story mode al a Sonic adventure, allowing villians to actually be threats without removing player agency. This game especially would've been a great time to introduce that. Also having fights where the challenge was to survive a time limit against an invincible or heavily buffed opponent as opposed to straight up defeating them would have allowed for these villians to maintain their status as a threat.
I liked the first half of this game, but things got real stupid around the big reveal. I feel calling this MK1 was a huge lie. They should have called it MK12, because that's what it is. It's not a new timeline, it's just a continuation of MK11 and Aftermath.
Jerrod was taking control after Kenshi defeated him the first time. Sindel wasn’t always evil of her own free will. Usually she’s mind controlled. The only time she was actually evil was in Aftermath. And that’s one of the biggest problems with Aftermath.
Even then it was an obvious retcon pulled out at the last minute, seeing as how her mk9 bio says nothing about her being evil. So originally, in the NRS era she wasn't evil there either until mk11.

Liu-Kang: Hmm, I not only have memories of my timeline and the future thanks to my revenant's memories but also memories of the old timeline thanks to Raiden's visions of the future, so I know how things will go down with multiple people. Shao-Kahn, Shang-Tsung, Quan-Chi, etc always end up being bad guys without fail...should I make sure they are never born or at the very least look into what made them the way they are to change that event so they don't become threats? Nah, I'll just make their lives shit. I am an all knowing god now, I know for a fact that people in horrible situations aren't prone to doing something bad or awful to improve their situations, that never happens ever.
They explained, and showed, that Shang Tsung from the other timeline was interfering with certain people. Also, Liu gave up the powers after he created the realms. He let destiny take over.
I had the same reaction to Quan Chi (before a ghost stole his skin color). Why does he look WAY more real than everyone else? Every time I saw him, I had to stop and stare at how good the graphics were.
What I find weird about Liu Kang's new timeline is that he specifically said 'fuck you' to Shang Tsung and Quan Chi yet he allowed Shao to become General of Outworld. The literal evil emperor who killed and slaved thousands deserves a chance at a successful life but not those two?? Am I missing something? Also, Liked, commented and suscribed!
Well what was he supposed to do? He gave Shao a weak body but the man overcame it through sheer Will and determination, was he supposed to tell Sindel “hey… fire him at once!”?… I doubt would go over well.

Sindel was never always evil, the original was a hero until the reboot of MK9 to MK11 they made her Evil because one of the people thought she was evil because of her outfit. MK Fans did not like that.
About Ermac/Jerrod thing - after Ermac got his ass beaten in the forest, Jerrod momentariliy took over and said something like "I must find Sindel". Perhaps it was the beginning of Jerrod's conquest for domination over the rest of the souls, Maybe with each time Ermac lost, Jerrod's soul was getting closer and closer to taking over and his loss to Mileena was just the final straw. That's just my speculation.
I FEEL THE SAME when the second timeline thing started it just became terrible, I feel like netherrealm studios try to go crazier each time, and now that they can't do the "raiden restarted history again" they went with the even crazier route of alternante timelines clashing. it's an escalation that will take them anywhere in the long run. I wish they had kept it as a normal universe with more grounded threats instead of going full cosmic war with titans and shit.

Yeah, the series has always been like that. Some of those things weren't introduced until a bit later in the series, I think, but still, I'm fine with that, the one being and all, but the multiple universe thing I don't like. It makes having your own characters impossible because one moment we can like and get attached to, say, Jax, then the next moment our Jax dies and he gets replaced with another one from another universe, and they can just do this now, and they did this in MK11 with Sonya when she died. She just gets replaced with a younger version of herself and the Sonya we've been following since MK9 is dead, and the characters don't have much of a reaction outside of hearing the news for the first time. Then they go on to have their little side story for one chapter. With future Mortal Kombat games, Liu Kang can just get everybody in his timeline killed, then say it's okay by making a new one. It's like Rick and Morty, at a certain point, you just don't care who dies because a copy is probably going to be made. Personally I'm not a fan of the time traveling multiple universe plotline.
Finally! Somebody atleast accepts that mk1 has flaws. Literally, they wasted Bi-Han, made shang tsung the main villian for the 4th time which is hilarious, they used the multiverse shenanigans which made the game boring and they were just throwing characters at us! But I still think MK1 has good stuff like Johnny Cage and many more characters were good, like Geras and so many more but it's just the finale and the multiverse that gets me.
Titan Havik is the true MK villian until Onaga or Titan Onaga shows up. Shang as the boss was just to wrap up Aftermath's story and now we can move further with the expansion.

Geras should be so much stronger. Geras is such a bad character; his gimmick is that every time he loses, he comes back stronger, but in MK11, he loses every single fight. Cool idea, but it doesn't mean anything when he never wins.
Yeah disagree with this one. The Mk cast has never really been known to have a solid singular look they change up a bit in like every game. And as said this is a new universe anyways so yeah they look different.
I think in relation to how LIu Kang, Shang Tsung and Quan Chi are related, I believe what may have happened is that Liu Kang did try, across many resets of the timelines, to help them (and in some intros, Liu Kang expresses to Shang that he wishes to reform him, not punish him) but they always turned out to be a threat to the realms. In one of their intros, Shang Tsung resents what Liu Kang did to him on this timeline, while Liu Kang explains it's 'cuz he has never put his power to good use. This sort of goes together with how Kronica went mad after resetting the timeline countless times and still not getting her desired result. It seems like Liu Kang was also resetting over and over until he had to give up and go with what he had before he also went mad. Shang vs Geras intro Shang also asks if he had power on prior timelines, where Geras says he did not once put it to good use, stating that Shang did have his powers on prior timelines, but it's likely Liu Kang had to reset it 'cuz of something he did. Now I know the intros aren't necessarily cannon (lot of them being references), but it's definitely plausible Liu Kang just tried his best to get that perfect timeline, but some stuff was out of his control, much like Kronica, but he decided to stop before he went mad. I believe in the story the only thing that actually succeeded in making Shang Tsung take another path was to be betrayed by himself, something that's... just not possible without the other timeline. Sort of meaning that Liu Kang, even when he had all of his power, could not change Shang Tsung from his evil ways, only Shang Tsung could change Shang Tsung... which gives a whole new meaning to helping yourself... but what a way to go about it. It's like seeking mental help to reform yourself but it turns out only the worst possible you from a different timeline can help.
In the story when Liu Kang reveals his former role as a Titan and keeper of the Hourglass, Geras explains that the current timeline is the first one Liu Kang has made if im not mistaken
the moment i lost interest in the story was when the tournament started. We didn't get to see enough fights and it felt like nobody took it seriously. not even the game developers themselves

To be fair, Johnny Cage was mature in MKX and MK11 NRS did do something different with him. I would want to see a Young Johnny being mature though. Also, Sindel wasn't always evil and that was explained by Geras. Her being good is a callback to her Midway iteration which was a good guy.
Well, as for why Mileena is bloodthirsty when she transforms, you kinda answered it. The marrow keeps the Tarkat away, but she's already had it for a while. So whenever she transforms into a Tarkatan, the disease is already progressed to the bt stage.
The way I interpreted it was that Tarkat doesn’t even have a “period of time before you become bloodthirsty”, you just are at some point. Whether that’s immediately or after a long time, because Barakka talks about his wife and child succumbing to it first and I would imagine they were infected at similar times
also with Liu kang making the sorcers have miserable lives, isn't that the point so they don't become the powerful sorcerers that became the deadly alliance . Not to mention with other timeline shang tsung tricking the new shang into doing tasks for him with him being called Damashi just like deception's shujinko being tricked by Onaga with the same alias name Damashi
Still, though, they could’ve been powerful sorcerers who could be disciplined by Liu Kang and become good that way. In Kung Lao’s canon ending in this game, he mentions that he was training Shujinko who is a powerful magic user. This is important because he turned evil and Liu Kang wiped his memories, allowing him to start his training over again. If Liu were to train Shang and he were to become evil, Liu could do the same thing until he becomes his ideal version of Shang. ….So honestly, it’s still entirely Liu Kang’s fault that he turned out the way he did, even if we put him predetermining a horrible destiny for Shang aside 😂

If Shang Tsung was kept an Earthrealmer, he would've lived and died long before Titan Shang Tsung found him. For Quan Chi, just make him a weak Netherrealm demon. He gets killed off. The end. Or just not allow them to exist in the first place Mr. control over time and destiny. But noooooooooooo
Dark Raiden's VA is actually not the same one from MK9 to MK11. That was Richard Epcar. Dark Raiden's MK1 VA is Travis Willingham. He took the role starting with the mobile game Mortal Kombat Onslaught (released after MK11).

In the other timelines, Kenshi is blinded by like a well of souls by Shang Tsung who wants to steal the souls of Kenshi's ancestors. So Shang blinded Kenshi originally. Then for Kuai's scar, I don't think it's explained in any timelines but in the Shaolin Monks spin-off game, Kung Lao used his hat to give Kuai his scar.

The story is bad. It's ridiculous that they've rebooted the series 3 times within a decade. They restarted the lore in 9, 11 and now 12. Really? How many times are they going to retell the same story?

I do know about the lore. The thing is they have all the Ingredients to make a good story but no one at The realms studios knows how to write a good story. The entire mk1 story just glossed over the lore that we all wanted. No explanation for scorpion other than he's been reincarnated, how bihan is just straight evil even though he's defended earthrealm over and over. There was just alot of scene jumping, nothing felt connected.

Nah MK X Kano did gaved him that Scar cutting him with the Kamidogu Dagger. In the O.G timeline he must of gotten that Scar when him & smoke were being hunted down by a cyberized Sektor & Cyrax for deserting the Lin Kuei & rebelled against the cyber initiation.
Originally the Mortal Kombat tournament was fought for the fate of Earthrealm. In this new timeline, the tournament is pretty much just for kudos for your realm. I don't even think the tournament is lethal anymore
About Liu not just murdering' the hypotenuse and poofing Shang Tsung away: There could be rules against certain levels of interference. Kronika has reset the timeline multiple times and hasn't poofed the heroes herself no matter how many times they have foiled her. Best she can do is set things in motion to corrupt their characters. So they're consistent on this part, at least.
Villains have never truly won in the NRS era of MK. Ever. Remember Deadly Alliance when Shang Tsung and Quan Chi defeated Kung Lao and Kitana, their army beat the rest of the Earthrealm fighters, and then the Deadly Alliance beat Raiden? Nitara beat Ashrah. Mavado beat Kenshi. Sub-Zero actually took losses to Noob Saibot and Cyber Smoke. Good times.
I think the only actual win the villains got in NRS' Mortal Kombat was when Sindel slaughtered all but two of Earthrealm's heroes in MK9 and Sonya's death in MK11, but it's not really a win because she gets replaced by a younger Sonya like one chapter later.
Actually, in the Mortal Kombat X comic book (a prologue story to the game's story), it is shown how Kuai Liang got his scar. IIRC, I think Kano was the one who gave it to him.

Idk i think Liu did a great job. He didnt erase Shang and Quan but he gave them mediocre lives instead of making them slaves or worse. They killed millions of people combined, having them live shitty lives isnt THAT bad.
im just gon say this I understand mk fans are tired of the resetting timeline story, but this will only bring in more and new audiences that want to get hooked on the game without needing the whole story from the og timeline, for them it's a new experience whilst for mk fans it was a quick run through of the previous timeline where they had mentioned the deadly alliance and armageddon. The reason why most mk fans feel like its lazy story writting because there was no progress and its only recapping previous games however for the new audience its something completely new and enjoyable for them

And like...if you can't be bothered to learn about a long lasting franchise you want to get in to..why even bother? Internet exists, just look up a wiki or watch a video or...I dunno, the writers could actually do their job and explain what the audience would need to know within the game so they aren't lost? There is absolutely no reason to keep resetting, none at all. You can get new fans hooked without constantly resetting things, that just makes it more confusing and hard to follow. They are literally following DC Comics in this stupidity where DC will constantly reboot themselves, erasing stories people love and making it hard for fans to keep track of what still matters and what changed. This isn't a good thing NRS is doing, don't praise it, they don't deserve it, it will come back to bite them in the ass,
I gave up trying to make a head canon for fighting movies, it is merely an excuse for all the fighting, dead characters come back to life, some were never dead to begin with, add time travel to all of that and you have pretty much an excuse to do what you want with whoever, spare your braincells gentlemen, you'll need them. Oh and notice I said movie, yes that is on purpose, because that is exactly what this series devolved into, bad story and cameos. Oh and did I mention this is the second reboot, people doesn't even remember the first MK anymore almost, man I'm getting old.
I think most Mortal Kombat fans are more around my age so the first Mortal Kombat was 10-15 years before we were born and with the existence of MK9 there's no real reason to go back to learn about those games since MK9 is basically the first 3 games in one.

Aside from the god awful multiverse DC Comics elseworlds garbage, stupid character decisions, dumb origins, dropped plot points, contrived moments, villains not being able to be taken seriously, etc., the most baffling thing is that this already bad story is being shackled by the terrible character chapter system that has been outdated since 2011. And what’s worse is that this game takes a step back from Aftermath, MK11, MKX, and both Injustice games. No choice on who to pick, no qte segments, no use of other in-game systems to help give a fight more gravitas All of this means we don’t get to use characters in the most iconic forms like Kung Lao with his hat or Kenshi with Sento. It means we can’t even get something as basic as an actual tournament(we’ve yet to see a real tournament with an actual bracket in MK). Characters without a chapter just jobs all game long and are largely unimportant. Characters with chapters often gets discarded for several chapters after their own(like EARTHREALM’S CHAMPION) or they stand around doing nothing. The character chapter system only amplifies the terrible story

I had a very similar reaction to the story. Started great, but near to the end it went downhill. So many things don't make sense. And General Kahn, once a fearsome boss, a true icon of MK, now is a piece of shit that basically has strength and knows how to use an axe.
MK 11/MK 1 is the answer to the question how do we completely reboot/reimagine a franchise and justify not respecting the og lore but cherry pick it for member berries. Change it to a what if franchise and then do wtf ever and hope it works out for the best.

I can see that, also Mileena can open her mouth wider, like a xenomorph, none of Baraka's people are like that so it could be accelerating the disease but also hold it back enough for her to be normal.
What I think is that Baraka had the disease for so long, he learned to keep control of his bloodthirsty urges, while Mileena has no idea how to control hers since she gets cured every month.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels like the ending was anti climactic and had so much going for it with a great starting point of the beginning through the midway point but near the end it felt so rushed and I wasn't a big fan of the randomized characters that were just swapped personalities of two people, it felt lazy and like they kinda stopped trying to be impactful and went full on stupid just for fan service I hope we get something like aftermath with better writing and more time to spend with this universe
First of all, doing the 3D era Baraka was okay. He got some wins and losses but there was no story mode yet we couldn't tell until Mortal Kombat 2011 when the game got a story mode.
The only explanation I can think of on why Liu Kang’s Shang Tsung & Quan Chi aren’t good, but some of the other counterparts are is because according to Liu Kang, “crafting a timeline is a complex endeavor.” And I’m not disagreeing with that, ‘cause I doubt it could be easy. I think it’s just easier for other people like in Fujin’s MK11 Ending, Shang Tsung is good in that timeline. That would also show as evidence that Liu Kang is the weakest Time Keeper, even though Fujin is a god that lived for centuries at least before he became Time Keeper. Also, if you played with other kharacters in Chapter 15, some are from Liu Kang’s era, like Raiden and Kung Lao, and others are from other timelines, like Sindel. Plus, that chapter took place in Titan Shang Tsung’s timeline and after he and Quan Chi were destroyed, so was his timeline, so he sent anyone you picked back to their own universe and presumably everyone else that survived and himself before the timeline was destroyed, so I doubt he had time to even bring back the casualties. And as stated in Madam Bo’s restaurant, but this is me paraphrasing, everyone from his timeline survived Armageddon. The post credit scene you saw with Titan Havik most likely took place before the timeline was destroyed.

i think mileena’s tarkat situation is interesting. My personal theory is that the treatment shang tsung gives her is actually making her condition worse which would explain why she’s bloodthirsty but baraka & the tarkatan colony aren’t yet. but hey- that’s just a theory

Everyone saying this game the best, But if its one thing i learned, mk games always need some Polishing at one point or another. Take the gameplay for example, it's just mk11 playstyle but given improvements.
From what I've seen, people agree with me that the game was good, then it started to go downhill with the alternate universe shenanigans that started coming in, but I think that part of the game was mostly bad bad, and some of the other people think it was good bad, like I think SonicHaXD is on that boat of the last quarter being good bad.

Meaningless and purposeless are not the same. Lou Kang says that their were not meant to have greater meaning, but there was a purpose to their existence. He wanted to reform them, take former villains and make them respectable people. By gutting their power, they would have to find ways of existing without relying on the evil tactics they would have in other timelines

Only a couple seconds in this video and you made no sense lol, i can understand why new mk fans dont like the story cuz of it not being a complete reboot but thats not the storys attentions, its like a stepping stone for more ideas and more furniture games of the mk series, tho i will admit the story is a bit wacky its a fun experience plus this is liu kang new story after all, also getting mad at the story for being different and not knowing anything about the lore is like reading the last book of a series then getting mad because you dont understand whats going on

Wouldn’t that count as fighting his “fate” in this world?
I mostly liked the story, although I have few gripes: 1. I dislike the fact that DLC characters had more spotlight than some of the main roster characters. Particularly Humpty Dumpty... I mean, Quan Chi. His role should have gone to Havik, given that the guy worships Chaos and that's exactly what was happening in the story. Ermac's role is more tolerable but, again, he should have been on the base roster. 2. Kuai Liang being Scorpion feels just very wrong to me. It would be Clark Kent being Batman, it just feels wrong. 3. On topic of Lin Kuei, I think Bi Han was swayed a little too easily. I have no problem with him being antagonist, but his motives should have been explained better, instead of him just repeating "I don't want to be on Liu Kang's leash" or talk about his father. It just makes him look like petty bitch. 4. General Shao was too weak. I get it that Liu Kang probably nerfed him so he wouldn't be as powerful as he was in previous timelines, but come on! Man is a general and champion of Outworld, he shouldn't be losing to likes of Reptile and Scorpion. 5. Characters just vanishing from the story. Baraka, Reptile, Ashrah, Li Mei, Sub Zero and few others are just gone after their bits are done. It's a shame because some of them had really strong showing throughout the story. 6. On related note, Raiden does absolutely nothing in the story after winning tournament. I think he only appears twice more before chapter 12. I'm not saying that he should be active 100% of time, but he at least should have been with Liu Kang or Geras. 7. Everything multiverse related. Just everything. OK, to be fair, some designs were cool. 8. Megan Fox as Nitara. Just... Why? Good video.
I wish they didn't go for the multiverse route so early, literally the main plot of General shao betraying Sindel and Somehow Shang tsung having power than he shouldn't was OK for me. They could've saved the multiverse thing for waaaaay later when thay can explore everything in detail and not as rushed as it was.
I have some corrects that i want to do and something i want to say, but somethings i won't talk about because i either agree, or agree enough, for example: I'm ok with Kenshi only getting more of his power after his chapter, because it was too soon in the story, the problem is, he get all that build up to not be playable in that part, it's just to be a cameo, i think the chapter system from these games should let you choose who you pick sometimes, even more when there's most of the time 2 characters to choose, and MK11 let you choose which 2 characters you wanted to play as in almost every part, that would have been cool. that happens with Kung Lao too, we never get to use his cool powers with the hat in his chapter, which makes sense, is too soon for that, but i still wish we could play with him sometimes in the rest of the story. stuff like that i don't entirely agree, but i agree enough that, it doesn't have a point on being brought up, even more because this text is probably gonna be too long. 0:48 Shang didn't really need to disguise as Kronika, it's more like a meta thing to trick the players into thinking it's Kronika. 6:39 It's not really supposed to be a big moment like Shang vs Liu, or Shao vs Liu in MK9, because in those ones, if outworld won, they would conquer earthrealm, that's not really what happen here, it's more like a friendly competition between realms, that could ended up bad if they lose with too much frequency, it's more about building respect between realms. 7:47 Liu Kang gave Shang a meaningless life to try to humble him so he could become a better person, he talked about that more in the intro dialogues, as for not even creating Shang, Shao and Quan Chi, he said in the intro dialogues he wanted to give them another chance. 9:39 I think she simply struggle to control. 12:46 Yeah, that one kinda flew over your head, Shang appear and explains right there why doing this, he wanted parts of their bodies to make more creepy experiments, that would be a better use of resources than just killing them. he didn't wanted them just dead in that specific moment. 13:02 He did wanted them dead, He let them trapped into a room with poison gas, that's why he didn't kill them, he though they would be dead already. but it was pretty dumb of him to assume that none of the characters there would be able to break through that door. 19:26 That also kinda flew over your head, he says he saw the previous timelines and knew what happened in them, Geras also know about all the billions of timelines that came before, that's WHY Liu Kang is so worried about a new deadly alliance, he knew what they did before, he knew how dangerous they can be together. 24:36 Yeah, you're wrong there, he got his scar fighting the cyber lin kuei in the original timeline, and in the neatherrealm timeline, it was Kano using a blood magic knife. 24:48 There's a really faithful adaptation to Kenshi getting blind in the animated movie MK Legends Snowblind. it's pretty much how Kenshi got blinded in the games. tricked by Shang Tsung using the nickname "song" so he could absorb a bunch of a souls in a specific place, that only a Takahashi could acess, they make him blind, and Shang get the souls, it's pretty much the same thing. you can check out the scene to see exactly how it is. 28:14 I'm sorry to be a broken record but yeah, this is once again something that was showed/explained in the game before that flew over your head, when Ashrah and Kenshi beat Ermac you can see Jerrod trying to get control over Ermac, and screaming for Sindel. 28:41 Again, That WAS his attempt to humble Shang, and i can't even say that was unfair, and that it was unnecessary, even with lack of power, first thing Shang tries to do is trick people, manipulate reptile, take reptile family as hostage, etc... and he still enjoy killing people and being evil, i can totally see doing that to him being necessary for redemption, if he wasn't that limited in his life, things could get even worse. same goes for Quan Chi. as for Sindel, if he knew about the previous timelines, he knew she could do better under better circunstances. I'm really happy you sent this! I knew there were things I was missing or wrong about, thank you for this comment correcting me on them. One thing I noticed was that in MK9 earthrealm lost 9 times so it was a big deal, it's the one tournament they absolutely had to win, in this game it doesn't matter. You're right, it is more of a friendly competition but I think it's weird for Liu Kang calls it defending earthrealm like there's a big threat. With Liu Kang knowing the other timelines, I see that, I think it would've been good fanservice if Liu Kang acknowledged his original death where his neck was snapped and was turned into a zombie. They could've had some good fanservice there. I see what you mean with Johnny Cage but in game he wouldn't be a titan if you played as him or any other characters you play as I don't think. It seems all the good titans wear white attires, they have a certain look to them and if you play as Johnny or Reptile or any other character they don't have Titan gear, like if you play as Reptile he's in his default attire, I think the character you decide to play as aren't Titans. Somebody the other day told me about the MKX comics, I checked it out and I saw where Sub Zero got the scar. I couldn't find much about the Midway era though, the most I found about that was John Tobias talking about it on twitter/X and honestly I would argue the Mortal Kombat comics aren't canon, I noticed some inconsistencies with it loke Kotal Kahn ripping Goro's arm's but Goro's corpse in one of the maps he has all of his arms. With Mortal Kombat I have a hard time accepting information if it doesn't come from the story mode, including the intro dialogues because they contradict each other even the story in the game like in MKX and Kotal's relationship with D'vorah, there are several intro dialogues they contradict their relationship and some of characters saying they killed a past character but in other intro dialogues another character would say they killed that character like in MK11 D'vorah says she killed Jerrod then Sindel would say she killed Jerrod and Shao Kahn says he killed Jerrod. I don't think using intro Dialogues as evidence is very reliable but I can accept it with Liu Kang explaining he wants to humble Shang Tsung than just outright hating them and wanting them to suffer because in MK11 Liu Kang he'll create a universe where Shang Tsung wouldn't exist but he created Shang Tsung anyway so it seems like he does want character development with him. I know my response is kind of all over the place, I'm sorry for that, but thank you for the comment and all of the corrections! Next time if I make another video like this I'll try to pay more attention and do better. Like I totally missed Jerrod in Ermac screaming for Sindel and I had to go through the story then essentially do it again multiple times to make the video lol.
@@SterlingIAm MKX Comics is kinda like injustice, it is canon, all the things stablished there are all canon, but neatherrealm doesn't respect some of the things stablished there. like scarecrow being alive in Injustice 2, when he should be dead, because he died in the comics. there's even an intro dialogue in MK11 where Sub-Zero and Kano talk about the scar on Sub-Zero's eye. Yeah, i understand, but that's mk11 and mkx, here on MK1 the intro dialogues seen to follow what happen not only in the story, but in the arcade endings as well, they took WAAAY more care with these stuff this time around, they wanted to make all endings and intro dialogue, as canon. so i think for this game, they can be considered. i understand taking them with a grain of salt because of how awful they were in consistency with previous games, but in this one, it's like they actually care. It's fine, i'm happy to help.

Honestly: What disappointed me was the fact that they ruined Shang Tsung's Aftermath ending...
If you've played "Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath", then you'll noticed that the game had the option where you could decide who would ultimately rule the New Era: Fire God Liu Kang or Shang Tsung.
In Liu Kang's ending, he defeats Shang Tsung and creates his New Era and peace and prosperity, leading to the events of "MK1".
In Shang Tsung's ending, he absorbs Fire God Liu Kang's soul, becomes a Titan, creates his New Era, and launches a conquest against all the realms; it then ends with Raiden and Fujin telling Titan Shang Tsung that Earthrealm, Outworld, and Netherrealm had been conquered and that Chaosrealm and Orderrealm (which had hardly been explored since "Deception" by the way) were next.
You get the picture? The ending hinted at the possibility of a "What if Shang Tsung won in 'Aftermath'?" kind of game where Chaosrealm and Orderrealm are the last line of resistance and the only hope left in stopping Titan Shang Tsung's tyranny. And, in all honesty, that would've been the PERFECT game! (Just have Tecmo-Koei/Omega Force make the game in the style of "Dynasty Warriors", create some brand new Chaosrealm/Orderrealm-originated Kombatants, have them fight with/against the Klassic Kombatants we know and love, and the game is complete.)
But then, "MK1" revealed that not only did BOTH Fire God Liu Kang and Titan Shang Tsung both create their own universes...but that Titan Shang Tsung is now eyeing to conquer Liu Kang's universe.
Basically, if they weren't got going to continue Shang Tsung's "Aftermath" ending, then NRS should NOT have pretended that there WERE (OR, at the very least, they should've left Shang Tsung's "Aftermath" ending open to the imagination). This means that my "What if Shang Tsung won in 'Aftermath'?" dream game will never be made because we obviously know how it's going to end: Titan Shang Tsung conquers Chaosrealm and Orderrealm then sets his sights on Liu Kang's universe (and YES, by the way: I'm saying "universe", NOT "timeline").
Why couldn't Shang Tsung's "Aftermath" ending just end with Raiden and Fujin saying that ALL realms (including Chaosrealm and Orderrealm) were now under Titan Shang Tsung's control (annihilate all hope in Titan Shang Tsung being stopped). THEN the multiverse concept would've made a LITTLE bit more sense. Instead, Titan Shang Tsung's "Aftermath" ending led to NOTHING. And THAT felt like the BIGGEST missed opportunity in "Mortal Kombat" history to me (especially considering how little popularity "Mortal Kombat" has in Japan).

It started off so humble and grounded with farming and character development, i was expecting it stay logical especially with the empasis on keeping diplomatic relations between the realms. When it turned out to be a 2nd timeline shang tsung i was like okay fine, but when the infinite multiverse came out it was like welp, off into the deep end it goes, and into meaninglessness, and purposelessness. Everyone is disposable and replacable and irrelevant and nothing anyone does is permanent either.
We saw some of this in Mortal Kombat 11 where Sonya dies and she gets replaced by a younger version of herself and the rest of the game is like "Everything's okay and fine, we have a new Sonya!" but like...OUR Sonya we've been following since MK9 is dead. they spent little time on her death too. It's probably going to get worse in the next game.
I don't think I agree with this. That younger version of Sonya isn't our Sonya, at least if the other Sonya dies then comes back we still have that history and character development with her.

The face he makes at the beginning of the game is probably the funniest expression in the Mortal Kombat series. creepy little face keeps zooming in with every lightning strike, then we get hit with the logo of the game lol.

CORRECTION:
20:07 - Sindel was only evil in MK11. In the original timeline, she died, was resurrected, and was put under a spell by Shao Kahn that made her evil until she eventually broke free and reunited with Kitana.
In the reboot trilogy, her MK9 biography stated that she sacrificed herself to save Earthrealm from Shao Kahn, confirming that she was good from the beginning, until she was resurrected and put under the spell just like in MK3. But in MK11, apparently she was evil this whole time, which not only retconned her MK9 biography, but assassinated her good guy character from before. She's not "good now" she's "good again".
Why didn't Liu Kang give Sindel a shitty life too? My guess because the developers realized that "Sindel was evil this whole time" was moronic, and they heard the backlash loud and clear. And probably because she wasn't as big of a threat as Quan Chi and Shang Tsung (Which leaves you wondering why Liu didn't give General Shao a shitty life either).

100% had the same feeling. It just cheapened the entire Liu Kang timeline story. I wouldn’t mind the multiverse thing as much if they took it more seriously and didn’t have all these weird obvious joke characters like Stung Lao, Quan Chill, and female Johnny Cage falling into the soul pit. It just made it look cheap and like some crazy wacky parody of MK. It was definitely super messy and I hope they like don’t try and continue the story with this timeline crap.

I was kinda down with the idea of MK story going back "to the roots" and man, when it turned into Marvel 2.0, I was just checked out.
I think Mortal Kombat would REALLY benefit from a split story mode al a Sonic adventure, allowing villians to actually be threats without removing player agency. This game especially would've been a great time to introduce that. I liked the first half of this game, but things got real stupid around the big reveal. I feel calling this MK1 was a huge lie. They should have called it MK12, because that's what it is. It's not a new timeline, it's just a continuation of MK11 and Aftermath.

I had the same reaction to Quan Chi (before a ghost stole his skin color). Why does he look WAY more real than everyone else? Every time I saw him, I had to stop and stare at how good the graphics were.
What I find weird about Liu Kang's new timeline is that he specifically said 'fuck you' to Shang Tsung and Quan Chi yet he allowed Shao to become General of Outworld. The literal evil emperor who killed and slaved thousands deserves a chance at a successful life but not those two?? Am I missing something?

About Ermac/Jerrod thing - after Ermac got his ass beaten in the forest, Jerrod momentariliy took over and said something like "I must find Sindel". Perhaps it was the beginning of Jerrod's conquest for domination over the rest of the souls, Maybe with each time Ermac lost, Jerrod's soul was getting closer and closer to taking over and his loss to Mileena was just the final straw. That's just my speculation.

when the second timeline thing started it just became terrible, I feel like netherrealm studios try to go crazier each time, and now that they can't do the "raiden restarted history again" they went with the even crazier route of alternante timelines clashing. it's an escalation that will take them anywhere in the long run. I wish they had kept it as a normal universe with more grounded threats instead of going full cosmic war with titans and shit.

Yeah, the series has always been like that. Some of those things weren't introduced until a bit later in the series, I think, but still, I'm fine with that, the one being and all, but the multiple universe thing I don't like. It makes having your own characters impossible because one moment we can like and get attached to, say, Jax, then the next moment our Jax dies and he gets replaced with another one from another universe, and they can just do this now, and they did this in MK11 with Sonya when she died. She just gets replaced with a younger version of herself and the Sonya we've been following since MK9 is dead, and the characters don't have much of a reaction outside of hearing the news for the first time. Then they go on to have their little side story for one chapter. With future Mortal Kombat games, Liu Kang can just get everybody in his timeline killed, then say it's okay by making a new one. It's like Rick and Morty, at a certain point, you just don't care who dies because a copy is probably going to be made. Personally I'm not a fan of the time traveling multiple universe plotline.

Finally! Somebody atleast accepts that mk1 has flaws. Literally, they wasted Bi-Han, made shang tsung the main villian for the 4th time which is hilarious, they used the multiverse shenanigans which made the game boring and they were just throwing characters at us! But I still think MK1 has good stuff like Johnny Cage and many more characters were good, like Geras and so many more but it's just the finale and the multiverse that gets me.
From what I’m hearing the game is overall solid but there’s just a bunch of junk and clutter in there that holds it back.

I think in relation to how LIu Kang, Shang Tsung and Quan Chi are related, I believe what may have happened is that Liu Kang did try, across many resets of the timelines, to help them (and in some intros, Liu Kang expresses to Shang that he wishes to reform him, not punish him) but they always turned out to be a threat to the realms. In one of their intros, Shang Tsung resents what Liu Kang did to him on this timeline, while Liu Kang explains it's 'cuz he has never put his power to good use.
This sort of goes together with how Kronica went mad after resetting the timeline countless times and still not getting her desired result. It seems like Liu Kang was also resetting over and over until he had to give up and go with what he had before he also went mad. Shang vs Geras intro Shang also asks if he had power on prior timelines, where Geras says he did not once put it to good use, stating that Shang did have his powers on prior timelines, but it's likely Liu Kang had to reset it 'cuz of something he did.
Now I know the intros aren't necessarily cannon (lot of them being references), but it's definitely plausible Liu Kang just tried his best to get that perfect timeline, but some stuff was out of his control, much like Kronica, but he decided to stop before he went mad. I believe in the story the only thing that actually succeeded in making Shang Tsung take another path was to be betrayed by himself, something that's... just not possible without the other timeline. Sort of meaning that Liu Kang, even when he had all of his power, could not change Shang Tsung from his evil ways, only Shang Tsung could change Shang Tsung... which gives a whole new meaning to helping yourself... but what a way to go about it. It's like seeking mental help to reform yourself but it turns out only the worst possible you from a different timeline can help.
In the story when Liu Kang reveals his former role as a Titan and keeper of the Hourglass, Geras explains that the current timeline is the first one Liu Kang has made if im not mistaken

Well, as for why Mileena is bloodthirsty when she transforms, you kinda answered it. The marrow keeps the Tarkat away, but she's already had it for a while. So whenever she transforms into a Tarkatan, the disease is already progressed to the bt stage.
The way I interpreted it was that Tarkat doesn’t even have a “period of time before you become bloodthirsty”, you just are at some point. Whether that’s immediately or after a long time, because Barakka talks about his wife and child succumbing to it first and I would imagine they were infected at similar times
also with Liu kang making the sorcers have miserable lives, isn't that the point so they don't become the powerful sorcerers that became the deadly alliance . Not to mention with other timeline shang tsung tricking the new shang into doing tasks for him with him being called Damashi just like deception's shujinko being tricked by Onaga with the same alias name Damashi
Still, though, they could’ve been powerful sorcerers who could be disciplined by Liu Kang and become good that way. In Kung Lao’s canon ending in this game, he mentions that he was training Shujinko who is a powerful magic user. This is important because he turned evil and Liu Kang wiped his memories, allowing him to start his training over again. If Liu were to train Shang and he were to become evil, Liu could do the same thing until he becomes his ideal version of Shang.
….So honestly, it’s still entirely Liu Kang’s fault that he turned out the way he did, even if we put him predetermining a horrible destiny for Shang aside 😂

Dark Raiden's VA is actually not the same one from MK9 to MK11. That was Richard Epcar. Dark Raiden's MK1 VA is Travis Willingham. He took the role starting with the mobile game Mortal Kombat Onslaught (released after MK11).

Well he mentioned he's not so in-depth with the MK lore so I am more forgiving tbh. As someone who knows like everything in MK lore down to the sub realms and characters like Jataaka and Kia.
In the other timelines, Kenshi is blinded by like a well of souls by Shang Tsung who wants to steal the souls of Kenshi's ancestors. So Shang blinded Kenshi originally.
Then for Kuai's scar, I don't think it's explained in any timelines but in the Shaolin Monks spin-off game, Kung Lao used his hat to give Kuai his scar.
Given everything Shang did to Liu Kang (neck snap), I can't say I would have given him a great life either. 😅🤷🏾♂️

I do know about the lore. The thing is they have all the Ingredients to make a good story but no one at The realms studios knows how to write a good story. The entire mk1 story just glossed over the lore that we all wanted. No explanation for scorpion other than he's been reincarnated, how bihan is just straight evil even though he's defended earthrealm over and over. There was just alot of scene jumping, nothing felt connected.

Originally the Mortal Kombat tournament was fought for the fate of Earthrealm. In this new timeline, the tournament is pretty much just for kudos for your realm. I don't even think the tournament is lethal anymore

There could be rules against certain levels of interference. Kronika has reset the timeline multiple times and hasn't poofed the heroes herself no matter how many times they have foiled her. Best she can do is set things in motion to corrupt their characters. So they're consistent on this part, at least.

im just gon say this I understand mk fans are tired of the resetting timeline story, but this will only bring in more and new audiences that want to get hooked on the game without needing the whole story from the og timeline, for them it's a new experience whilst for mk fans it was a quick run through of the previous timeline where they had mentioned the deadly alliance and armageddon. The reason why most mk fans feel like its lazy story writting because there was no progress and its only recapping previous games however for the new audience its something completely new and enjoyable for them

And like...if you can't be bothered to learn about a long lasting franchise you want to get in to..why even bother? I gave up trying to make a head canon for fighting movies, it is merely an excuse for all the fighting, dead characters come back to life, some were never dead to begin with, add time travel to all of that and you have pretty much an excuse to do what you want with whoever, spare your braincells gentlemen, you'll need them.
Oh and notice I said movie, yes that is on purpose, because that is exactly what this series devolved into, bad story and cameos. Oh and did I mention this is the second reboot, people doesn't even remember the first MK anymore almost, man I'm getting old.
I think most Mortal Kombat fans are more around my age so the first Mortal Kombat was 10-15 years before we were born and with the existence of MK9 there's no real reason to go back to learn about those games since MK9 is basically the first 3 games in one.

Aside from the god awful multiverse DC Comics elseworlds garbage, stupid character decisions, dumb origins, dropped plot points, contrived moments, villains not being able to be taken seriously, etc., the most baffling thing is that this already bad story is being shackled by the terrible character chapter system that has been outdated since 2011. And what’s worse is that this game takes a step back from Aftermath, MK11, MKX, and both Injustice games. No choice on who to pick, no qte segments, no use of other in-game systems to help give a fight more gravitas
All of this means we don’t get to use characters in the most iconic forms like Kung Lao with his hat or Kenshi with Sento. It means we can’t even get something as basic as an actual tournament(we’ve yet to see a real tournament with an actual bracket in MK). Characters without a chapter just jobs all game long and are largely unimportant. Characters with chapters often gets discarded for several chapters after their own(like EARTHREALM’S CHAMPION) or they stand around doing nothing.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels like the ending was anti climactic and had so much going for it with a great starting point of the beginning through the midway point but near the end it felt so rushed and I wasn't a big fan of the randomized characters that were just swapped personalities of two people, it felt lazy and like they kinda stopped trying to be impactful and went full on stupid just for fan service I hope we get something like aftermath with better writing and more time to spend with this universe

First of all, doing the 3D era Baraka was okay. He got some wins and losses but there was no story mode yet we couldn't tell until Mortal Kombat 2011 when the game got a story mode.
The only explanation I can think of on why Liu Kang’s Shang Tsung & Quan Chi aren’t good, but some of the other counterparts are is because according to Liu Kang, “crafting a timeline is a complex endeavor.”
And I’m not disagreeing with that, ‘cause I doubt it could be easy. I think it’s just easier for other people like in Fujin’s MK11 Ending, Shang Tsung is good in that timeline. That would also show as evidence that Liu Kang is the weakest Time Keeper, even though Fujin is a god that lived for centuries at least before he became Time Keeper.
Also, if you played with other kharacters in Chapter 15, some are from Liu Kang’s era, like Raiden and Kung Lao, and others are from other timelines, like Sindel.
Plus, that chapter took place in Titan Shang Tsung’s timeline and after he and Quan Chi were destroyed, so was his timeline, so he sent anyone you picked back to their own universe and presumably everyone else that survived and himself before the timeline was destroyed, so I doubt he had time to even bring back the casualties. And as stated in Madam Bo’s restaurant, but this is me paraphrasing, everyone from his timeline survived Armageddon. The post credit scene you saw with Titan Havik most likely took place before the timeline was destroyed.

Take the gameplay for example, it's just mk11 playstyle but given improvements.
From what I've seen, people agree with me that the game was good, then it started to go downhill with the alternate universe shenanigans that started coming in, but I think that part of the game was mostly bad bad, and some of the other people think it was good bad, like I think SonicHaXD is on that boat of the last quarter being good bad.

He wanted to reform them, take former villains and make them respectable people. I mostly liked the story, although I have few gripes:
1. I dislike the fact that DLC characters had more spotlight than some of the main roster characters. Particularly Humpty Dumpty... I mean, Quan Chi. His role should have gone to Havik, given that the guy worships Chaos and that's exactly what was happening in the story. Ermac's role is more tolerable but, again, he should have been on the base roster.
2. Kuai Liang being Scorpion feels just very wrong to me. It would be Clark Kent being Batman, it just feels wrong.
3. On topic of Lin Kuei, I think Bi Han was swayed a little too easily. I have no problem with him being antagonist, but his motives should have been explained better, instead of him just repeating "I don't want to be on Liu Kang's leash" or talk about his father. It just makes him look like petty bitch.
4. General Shao was too weak. I get it that Liu Kang probably nerfed him so he wouldn't be as powerful as he was in previous timelines, but come on! Man is a general and champion of Outworld, he shouldn't be losing to likes of Reptile and Scorpion.
5. Characters just vanishing from the story. Baraka, Reptile, Ashrah, Li Mei, Sub Zero and few others are just gone after their bits are done. It's a shame because some of them had really strong showing throughout the story.
6. On related note, Raiden does absolutely nothing in the story after winning tournament. I think he only appears twice more before chapter 12. I'm not saying that he should be active 100% of time, but he at least should have been with Liu Kang or Geras.
7. Everything multiverse related. Just everything. OK, to be fair, some designs were cool.
8. Megan Fox as Nitara. Just... Why?

I wish they didn't go for the multiverse route so early, literally the main plot of General shao betraying Sindel and Somehow Shang tsung having power than he shouldn't was OK for me. They could've saved the multiverse thing for waaaaay later when thay can explore everything in detail and not as rushed as it was.
I have some corrects that i want to do and something i want to say, but somethings i won't talk about because i either agree, or agree enough, for example: I'm ok with Kenshi only getting more of his power after his chapter, because it was too soon in the story, the problem is, he get all that build up to not be playable in that part, it's just to be a cameo, i think the chapter system from these games should let you choose who you pick sometimes, even more when there's most of the time 2 characters to choose, and MK11 let you choose which 2 characters you wanted to play as in almost every part, that would have been cool. that happens with Kung Lao too, we never get to use his cool powers with the hat in his chapter, which makes sense, is too soon for that, but i still wish we could play with him sometimes in the rest of the story. stuff like that i don't entirely agree, but i agree enough that, it doesn't have a point on being brought up, even more because this text is probably gonna be too long.

I'm really happy you sent this! I knew there were things I was missing or wrong about, thank you for this comment correcting me on them. One thing I noticed was that in MK9 earthrealm lost 9 times so it was a big deal, it's the one tournament they absolutely had to win, in this game it doesn't matter. You're right, it is more of a friendly competition but I think it's weird for Liu Kang calls it defending earthrealm like there's a big threat.
With Liu Kang knowing the other timelines, I see that, I think it would've been good fanservice if Liu Kang acknowledged his original death where his neck was snapped and was turned into a zombie. They could've had some good fanservice there.
I see what you mean with Johnny Cage but in game he wouldn't be a titan if you played as him or any other characters you play as I don't think. It seems all the good titans wear white attires, they have a certain look to them and if you play as Johnny or Reptile or any other character they don't have Titan gear, like if you play as Reptile he's in his default attire, I think the character you decide to play as aren't Titans.
Somebody the other day told me about the MKX comics, I checked it out and I saw where Sub Zero got the scar. I couldn't find much about the Midway era though, the most I found about that was John Tobias talking about it on twitter/X and honestly I would argue the Mortal Kombat comics aren't canon, I noticed some inconsistencies with it loke Kotal Kahn ripping Goro's arm's but Goro's corpse in one of the maps he has all of his arms.
With Mortal Kombat I have a hard time accepting information if it doesn't come from the story mode, including the intro dialogues because they contradict each other even the story in the game like in MKX and Kotal's relationship with D'vorah, there are several intro dialogues they contradict their relationship and some of characters saying they killed a past character but in other intro dialogues another character would say they killed that character like in MK11 D'vorah says she killed Jerrod then Sindel would say she killed Jerrod and Shao Kahn says he killed Jerrod. I don't think using intro Dialogues as evidence is very reliable but I can accept it with Liu Kang explaining he wants to humble Shang Tsung than just outright hating them and wanting them to suffer because in MK11 Liu Kang he'll create a universe where Shang Tsung wouldn't exist but he created Shang Tsung anyway so it seems like he does want character development with him.

Like I totally missed Jerrod in Ermac screaming for Sindel and I had to go through the story then essentially do it again multiple times to make the video lol.
@@SterlingIAm MKX Comics is kinda like injustice, it is canon, all the things stablished there are all canon, but neatherrealm doesn't respect some of the things stablished there. like scarecrow being alive in Injustice 2, when he should be dead, because he died in the comics. there's even an intro dialogue in MK11 where Sub-Zero and Kano talk about the scar on Sub-Zero's eye.
Yeah, i understand, but that's mk11 and mkx, here on MK1 the intro dialogues seen to follow what happen not only in the story, but in the arcade endings as well, they took WAAAY more care with these stuff this time around, they wanted to make all endings and intro dialogue, as canon. so i think for this game, they can be considered. i understand taking them with a grain of salt because of how awful they were in consistency with previous games, but in this one, it's like they actually care.
