Yeah I'm old school 40 years of professional tree dodging, woods motocross racing and I'm not totally sold on the fork lock down but they were, pros, just starting to using back when two strokes were ruining wild, but with good dirt tacky its a must, haven't tryed it I'd like have a height adjustable lock, four stroke hook so perfect,I rode a 07 Honda crf450,and the beast did not like it's front wheel anywhere close to the ground, hah hah hah, stock engine, and I'm the best at starts,I have ice in my blood, like my pop,he doesn't move unless the stress level is peaked,I'd say I would not use the fork locker but have you noticed how far down their locking the front forks on the SX starts, the fork looks 60% collapsed, that's a ton,on a two stroke I used to lean forward and dial in traction by dipping my helmut down or up and back to keep the front tire just a few inches of the ground, doubt that would work with today's traction hogging four strokes,I like the fact that new KAWYs come with different ignition mapping for different power controller, cause no matter how good you are with clutch you ain't gonna keep the front wheel down, you'll smoke the thing after two starts the traction is so good, not like the old days....
I retired from racing when the 4 strokes and back flips came in,,, When the card went sideways,, I would start both feet down, 2nd gear dragging the clutch while leaning on the front brakes so you would POP out the gate,,, on a 250,,, And they said nothing at all about what or where to watch,, You never look at the gate, your fastest reaction time is always catching movement out of the corners of your eyes,,, I would focus 20 yards ahead of the gate, Odd they didn't say anything about that!
The hole shot device doesn't seem to make sense weighting the front wheel is the opposite of traction. There no way that making the rear wheel spin by weighting the front wheel and lightening the rear is faster to the first corner. The more traction the faster you accelerate. Just start a gear higher, holding steady throttle and as the front wheel begins the rise use a little clutch and run through the gears wide open throttle applying as much traction as possible to the rear wheel keeping it a about 6 inches off the ground. Sounds like to me to be not sound engineering applied
Thats why the riders sit towards the back of the bike so it balances the back of the bike out weight wise... I have a holehshot device on my bike and they are pretty handy with keeping the front end down
Well I mean Monster Energy Kawasaki is the best motocross race team in history, and the world, literally every great in the sport came up through them except for Dungey, so their engineering is probably pretty sound
Best holeshot video u have ever watched
Keep it up.... great explained

Man shut up

jocrp6 I always look at gate next to me, you can see movement faster from its side rather than it coming straight towards you.
Do you fully let go of the clutch or do you ride it
Lachlans'Aquatics if you ride the clutch you will ware it out just hold the clutch barley out side of point of engagement and you will be fine
It depends on the surface how much traction you’re getting
I thought everyone was saying it doesn't release until the first corner..
Haha. Sweet spot. Sugar. Nice.

Ray Hill it sould be called anti weelie device and it stopes the front end lifting

Do what Ray does and you'll end up last in the first turn.

fucking love it
