I've been Detecting with Deep Digger Dan during his digging the coast 365, that was fun. I used his XP Deus... Very light. I started out using the Garrett Ace 250 and then added a Nel Tornado coil. After that I started using a Nokta Makro Kruzer and some how managed to find so much more on land I thought had been detected to death. Silver coins, WWII badges and bullets and down the beach I've even found GOLD and Silver Rings. In my latest video I've finally found a Roman Coin and A Saxon Strap End. I think the shallower depth at Garett is due to the smaller spool. If it had an 11 "spool, the depth would be like a Minelab

Another great vid 👍👍👍however results of finds under various scenarios is the real test. For example an F1 racing car does 200mph a Dacia Stepway doesn’t. But the Dacia beats the F1 over rough ground.
Can you do vanquish 540 deep test too?

Just watched your video I see the detectors have the stock coils on them when tested,But the apex coil is a lot smaller than the equinox I don't think it's a true comparison do the same test with the new Garrett Raider coil it might make a difference on the test ? I'm not saying it will but who knows
I do like your new dirt box and retire my dirt box and make one just like yours which is lot better designed with the Centre Point in the middle of the box keep the videos coming all the best

I've just got hold of an Apex, hoping to take it out this week. Interesting video but never been a fan of air tests. Theres only one true way to compare machines and this is out in the field with real targets in real conditions
This wouldn’t be considered an air test, his bucket is filled with dirt. Happy hunting!
Thanks Arron, Apex is of course quite a bit cheaper than the Nox...
Considering this machine is less than half the price of the Nox I would say it is an amazing value for the performance. Not too many machines that can hit a coin at a foot let alone ones that aren't meant to compete with a $1000 detector. Also if you are carrying an AT Max or Pro over this then it had better be for the waterproofing because the Apex kills the other 2 in depth and features. I swung an AT Pro and loved it but lets be honest it is old tech and doesn't keep up with stock coils. So unless you want to carry around a giant boat anchor of a coil on the end of your AT series the Apex is the winner here. If there is an AT version of the Apex coming then that will be a game changer I am sure.
As an American, I couldn't really understand your final impressions of the Apex as to whether you thought it worthy or not.
I like it, I’m a fan of Garrett my first detector was an ace 250. Using this feels familiar and now the new update is out it feels even better.
I love your dark destroyer videos. But it seems it has become customary to mention the Nox range, I hope everyone remembers there is a significant price difference between all these detectors. The Apex sells for about £425, while the Nox 600 is £675 and the Nox 800 is £899. I would say £0-500 is the entry level machines. £501-£1000 tends to have the intermediate level machines. I would love to see a comparison screen at the end of your dark destroyer videos stating depths and price points. Or maybe you could go Top Gear style and create a physical board with this information on it, you can refer to it and remind us qbout your previous tests. :) Hope you dont construe this as an angry demand as I will carry on watching your videos regardless.

LOL. It never even occurred to me until you said "dirtbox is more amusing"........then I couldn't stop laughing. And then I watched you giving it to the dirtbox over and over in all the holes and I started laughing all over again. I'm going to recommend all the detectors come and watch you test out the dirtbox with your rod. Yes, I'm a child.

2 years later there are 2 updates on the machine! now maybe better results ? and you have really a lot of coil options on the Apex …. much lighter/bigger/deeper as the equinox ….. i have all 6 coils minelab/coiltek on my equinox and i have 9 coils for my two Apex…. you should test it with a Garrett/Raider or Cors/Butterfly on the apex and the 11“ on the equinox…. at the end you will see ….. i do not like testing coils with different shapes…. the viper has a slim shape ….and in effect ….. it will loosing depth against a similar sized coil with round shape !!! but better separation ….. 🎉 this is why the viper comes out……

It's not a boast about depth, width of coil or length, but get the impression my detector and pinpointer combo sets off dogs at up to a 1km distance!

Interesting test there Aaron, just a couple of thoughts, could you put up a chart at the end of the vids with results of each machine, maybe like a league table and also maybe a run on a sand box for comparison. Would be interesting to see what happens sand to soil. 👍
If I put up a league table it gives away the results for those who may not have seen the other videos.... people might not be watching these in order and it would ruin the surprise so to speak. But yes I’ll sort one out for the next test vid.
Just a thought. All the pipes cross in the middle leaving an area in the middle with not much earth ??
There are a couple of inches of dirt in between, as I’ve said before it’s not scientific it’s just me poking things into holes in a tub full of mud 👍

I’ve used the ace 250 how does this compare to the apex ? Will I get more depth?
Yes it’s deeper, since it’s update this has been a fantastic detector, if you like the 250 you’ll love this.

Detectors should be able to be tested with one coil, then the tests will be serious. Now the detectors are tested with a different coil each time. There are always differences
