You know it's gonna be good when the Josh's briefing is in the first 5 minutes.

"His face has the map of the world on it", best description of Leo ever. The writers on this show are poets.

1:44 this is such a funny meta joke. half the show was people talking walking and here they make a joke about it. just perfect 😀

I always took for granted those corridor conversations but now decades later I truly appreciate how well acted they were, as these men and women walked the halls of power talking complex dialogue that they are not actually trained in…and we believed them! 🐑🐑🇳🇿🇳🇿NZ

Some of the appreciation should go to the camera crew

I love how during the Press Briefing from Hell, the reporters start teaming up and supporting each other against Josh and Danny tries to course correct like a real bro. This is what happens when the President keeps his plan to fight inflation a secret.

There was a time when the pure cognitive dissonance in the “real” West Wing caused me to abandon my all-time favorite TV series. Now, faced with the bleak reality of DJT 2.0 and the endless yapping about “what went wrong,” this wonderful show is a weighted blanket, a bowl of chicken soup, a warm chocolate chip cookie, and two blue gummies, all rolled into one. God Bless all responsible for this wonderful show.

You folks really need to balance your grip on reality. 😆 I hope you recover from your self-inflicted malaise in time. Enjoy the show!

16:50. I know this a video about Josh but I & every writer in the world & history agree with Toby. The perils of such agony.

16:03 for a moment let’s put aside partisan rhetoric and think about that
Neither side is using the right words but that’s the real problem
    Just one person’s opinion

So at 11:28, when Toby is meeting with that guy about a job, Toby said that he knew why the guy was there, and it was because he wanted to buy Atlanta Intermediate. This guy would go on to tell Toby that he wanted to create a 24/7 cable news network.
In the show written by Sorkin after TWW, the Newsroom, that whole show is based on the newsroom at Atlanta Cable News, a cable news network. Does anyone else find it coincidental that this is when Sorkin first mentions a cable news network and then later writes a whole series about an Atlanta-based 24/7 cable news network?

It's because CNN was headquartered in Atlanta at the time

The news station in the Newsroom was Atlantis Cable News......but I'm picking up what you are putting down.

OK. Aviation nerd here. After the descent notice you can hear the engines (foley) winding down to idle(ish). Boner.

Josh Lyman, the most naive and incorrigible autocrat in the entire cast. Thank God he remained campaign manger and never sought the presidency himself, he would have consolidated all power to the executive branch and made members of Congress and the House kiss his ring before addressing him as "Sir Lord President."

He doesn't seem like the type to run for office. I could at best see him as head of the DNC.

Josh could never get elected to anything. He is the second most unlikeable person in the WW, after Sam. He has no communication skills, no grasp of what people want, and, as Bruno, Mandy, Joey, and Lou all say he has absolutely no political instincts.

That’s exactly what he is and how the character is written. You need all types in politics

It is sad and pathetic...in the first season, it was as if they were trying to make Josh/Bradley a sexy, intellectual symbol...failed miserably. The Josh/Amy love arc that haunted the series later was also a boring, ridiculous low

    • @carolcrawford9137

I agree the Amy thing was CRINGE. Hated her interpretation of the character. AWFUL!!!

2:20 I have never ever heard a single person in my many decades of speaking English refer to (a) root canal without the indefinite article.
Sorry CJ, it’s not that your slobbering, it’s that I don’t know what ‘I had root canal’ even means…did you mean ‘I had A root canal?’
Always wonder how one of the actors or the 100 people on the set didn’t raise their hand at filming and say “Mr Sorkin, sir? Is everyone here supposed to be from rural Ontario?”
9:21 Josh gives lessons in sexual harassment.

      imagine having that pain
the article "a" would be a little painful and truly isnt adding a lot to what is said
anyone can figure out what she meant
