    I've been chasing bronzebacks here in the Ozark waters over 45 years now, and nowdays have the privilege of guiding others here in Northern Arkansas & Southern Missouri. I've also been appreciating your art from the beginning. You never disappoint, and It shows in your work that you enjoy telling the story. Thanks again in great job.
    P.S If You have any contact information I would love to Hear from you and bend your ear a little. There is a fishery my friends and I are trying to save, Perhaps you know people that can help. Thanks again.

    What’s the track at 11:00?

  • @EE0971
    @EE0971 ปีที่แล้ว

    Just what we needed in the Ozarks, another spot burner. These places do not need advertising.

    • @gaterb11
      @gaterb11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Advertising brings in clients. Clients spend money on trips, guides, gear, and in the local towns. It all supports the economy that contributes to keeping the resource available. I get your point but this video is very different than someone posting a fishing video showing all the best spots they caught their fish. In the age of social media everyone is walking a fine line.

    • @EE0971
      @EE0971 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gaterb11 Yeah, that’s what everyone says and it’s true right up to the point that it’s good for the resource/environment. Take it from someone who’s been around long enough to witness the degradation first hand. More boot prints, more trash, and less fish traded for views,likes, and profit.

    • @BluffLINEMedia
      @BluffLINEMedia  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I appreciate your concern and share it to some extent. However, after discussion with many stakeholders (NPS, G&F, DNR, guides, and related businesses) the overwhelming consensus is as follows:
      People don’t know to advocate to protect resources of which they’re unaware. Promoting responsible use of resources can actually be more beneficial than not. Especially considering the internet already acts as an advertisement to interested parties. Increased use is inevitable.
      I believe modeling responsible use is an asset considering our circumstances. American are more environmentally aware and engaged than ever.

    • @EE0971
      @EE0971 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BluffLINEMedia You may have good intentions, but I think your logic is flawed. Do you have any objective studies or data that shows this is an effect strategy, or is it just opinion? Because it seems illogical to me that purposely increasing the number of people that visit an area each year will will have a positive impact. Ask anyone who has lived in CO for the last 10 years if the increase in people has had a positive impact on the environment. You could have left out the names of the rivers and still advocated for the environment and the smallmouth. Naming these rivers only benefits those who stand to profit from the increased traffic. It’s impossible that more people showing up will help the fish or the landscape. Protecting a river and promoting a river work against each other. If I’m wrong, prove it by posting a link to some objective information. Otherwise, I have to believe you are doing more harm than good and your using this idea of “promote to protect” to absolve yourself from the negative impact it can cause. The idea that promoting (AKA spot burning) is going to help is repeated by every content provider out there, but I’ve never seen any evidence to back up the claim.

    • @OzarksSmallmouthAlliance
      @OzarksSmallmouthAlliance ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Promotion and preservation do not have to be mutually exclusive. I’ve spent the better part of my 54 years advocating for stricter regulations on native species in the Ozarks.
      Telling the story brings awareness. I tell it 275-300 times a year. Most of my clients are not Ozarks natives nor residents. But a lot of them do live in neighboring states. I’ve yet to see any negative impacts from showing people “my”waters nor telling the story of the native fish(smallmouth) that I love.
      The sad fact is that more people than ever are taking part in our sport, and educating them is the key to preserving the resources.
      There are very few “secret” spots anymore. Telling the story, advocating for the resource, and bringing awareness to its fragility is paramount to keeping it viable.
