You can pick any superlative you wish and it will fit -- be it Angelina's terrific and hugely versatile voice, her rendions, her performances, her unsurpassable arrangements and her soul (in both meanings, that is). "Talented" or "gifted" are not terms that can capture what Angelina Jordan Astar is and embodies. She is simply brilliant.

The song that almost never was, so happy it was leaked....a masterpiece by a ten year old like no other.
As you’ve seen, she’s 10 here. Angelina’s age is almost irrelevant. She’s given me the best versions of songs I’ve heard when she was a child. The song we just heard-could anyone else match Angelina’s voice and interpretation? At 9 we got I Put a Spell on You. It is easily the best version of that song I’ve heard, including the original. Bohemian Rhapsody at 13. Suspicious Minds last year. And her EP is amazing.
Age doesn’t matter.
Many reactors have made a similar suggestion as you that Angelina is so young, she hasn’t had time in her life to have experienced relationships… I think the bigger picture is it it doesn’t have to be about male and female relationships. It’s about life’s experiences. She is an old soul and has a cognition and grasp on life like not many others. Angelina Jordan was put on this planet to profess love for everybody and she sings it. She lives it.

Angelina was 2 weeks short of aged 11 when recorded but it sat on the shelf for about 2 years before being leaked .
She was basically 2 weeks shy of eleven.
It's completely startling but she was indeed 10 years old when she sang the song. Sometime then went by before it was leaked and then downloaded by a fan and eventually this video was made. Which explains why there are some shots of her as old as 12 years old in this video. But she was 10 when she sang it.
You need to understand that she has stated, if not for the influence of Billie
Holiday, there would be no Angelina Jordan today. Do you understand how
profound that is? She has heard all the great singers but Billie stands alone
at the top of her musical pedestal. Billie was a poor black girl who never had
a musical mentor and fought her way to becoming 'The Queen Of Jazz'. She
was the most improvisational jazz singer of all time. Angelina is a 'vocal
chameleon' who can emulate the vocals of A-List artists so precisely when
he wants to, that you would believe it's the original artist singing in place of her.
If you listen to a rehearsal recording Angelina did in a sound booth of Billie's
'I'm A Fool to Want You', in that one song you will see how Angelina captures the
musical inventiveness of Billie when she sings a ballad. Many of the aspects,
which include 'breathy', 'whisper-like' releases that Billie was known for, are always
detectable when Angelina sings a heartfelt ballad. The adult emotion Angelina is
able to bring forth, though never experiencing the depths of despair they imply, are
parts of Billie's truly hard life that came through in her singing. She was born to a
13 year old prostitute and a father who she adored but was rarely around. Then she
finds out he died when hospitals in the south refused to treat blacks. In addition she
comes across a poem called 'Strange Fruit' which she turns into a recording. It refer's
to how blacks were hung 'dead' from trees throughout the deep south. The song was
banned from radio stations in the south but still sold over a million copies. Angelina is
able to tap into that emotional pain and is the reason she can sing the way she does.
I mean, just go back to what I mentioned earlier. If not for Billie Holiday, there would be
no Angelina Jordan today.
Great Comment, her recording session of "I'm a Fool To Want You" is so underappreciated. It is one of my top 3 favorites. She became Billie when she was singing it.
The key to Angelina being Angelina is FAMILY. She has a beautiful family that is loaded with love for each other (and certainly her), and very, very protective of our barefoot princess. One of the lines in her song Good in Goodbye is that she "doesn't do darkness". No indeed, Angelina does love.

Just shy of 11 years old, and yet she sings this with such feeling and emotion that she makes us believe that she actually lived this heartache. She truly is a once in a lifetime artist. I agree, Age doesnt matter when raw natural talent is involved. My favorite performance of angelinas IMO is her cover of adeles million years ago at age twelve, It doesnt matter if angelina is still performing at 99 years old. My favorite song of hers will always be million years ago at age twelve. Perfection, The high notes ,The low notes, The emotion the story telling.I heard that song when adele first released it on the news one day long ago. I thought wow thats a great song . When I first heard angelina perform it I said to myself, Thats the perfect performance of any person at any age just raw natural god given talent. God bless angelina and she already was My bad .

Great reaction, Duane. Too bad you didn't know her age beforehand though. This performance is just crazy from a 10 year old girl. Then you may hear : "OH! But she was just a few weeks shy of 11", as if that makes ANY difference at all. Had this been recorded when she was 10 years 3 weeks, she would have sounded pretty much the same. I know that based on other performances from she was 10. This is such a near-miss bestseller! I hope Angelina and Baby Fuzz can come to an agreement for her to record this professionally and release it under Republic Records. Would benefit both of them. This is a crazy good song, but Angelina's family had issues with the ending, as I understand it. Perhaps a collaboration could work it out. One of my favorites to re-listen to because of the quaity of her musicality and vocal expression.
This was recorded professionally , I stand to be corrected but I think the producers are stargate . there is no evidence that the family had issues with this song , in any case they didn't own the rights to it .imo the song is best left alone .a collab with baby fuzz ? his voice ain't good enough .
I don't believe Stargate produced this "Leaked" song. Check your facts. A collab doesn't mean they sing together. He's the songwriter. He might be willing to make changes to give Angelina's version of his song, which didn't really go anywhere, a new life. @@tomwhite4736
@@tomwhite4736No, Stargate only got in contact with her after AGT in 2020. These were other Norwegian producers, who also did the original with BabyFuzZ. They are also part of the songwriters that did Shield with Angelina.

Duane, it’s nearly incomprehensible to realize that this stunning demo performance is being sung by then ten year old Angelina. If new listeners did not know how old Angelina was they would assume that she was much older. The level of savvy sophistication, maturity, feel and advanced vocal techniques displayed by Angelina is far beyond anything I’ve ever heard from a child vocalist.
Even at ten years of age, Angelina is a master story teller.
Supposedly, after recording it, mom had second thoughts and felt the subject matter (suicide) was too much for Angelina's age. They shelved it and somehow it was eventually leaked. After seeing the praise for it, it got their nod of OK, but not an official approval.
This could be just a rumour. After all AJ started her journey with a famous suicide song, Gloomy Sunday. Also the writer of this song, Baby Fuzz, has said that the song isn't about suicide and that the family of AJ never contacted him. He didn't even know that AJ had sung this. AJ is also known to change lyrics when needed. I personally think there has to be some other reason for AJ not releasing this song.

Check her interview with Ann Lindmo. You will need subtitles. She explains about her book and her bare feet. Interesting fact. According to Norwegian press article she decided for herself that she would perform barefoot on Norway's Got Talent. Her mom was worried about it and bought her some shoes. Later her mom said Angelina always surprises her.

I think she is a very empathetic person, she has the extremely great talent that when she hears a song she immediately knows how the song has to be sung in order to tell the story and convey the emotions that go with it vocally. When you listen to her 6 songs from the EP and you know that all the lyrics were written by her, you have an understanding of how great she and her emotional world is, as a judge once said at NGT "you are music" and by the way, she was here 10 years old

Angie's fans think that this is one of her best vocals and if it had been released would have
charted well. In a nutshell, BabyfuzZ, a well-known and successful song writer wrote this
with a few buddies at a songwriting camp. He shopped it around to his clients and got no
takers, then sent the music and lyrics out to a number of singers to make a demo. His
buddies had worked with Angelina so sent it to her too. Ten-year-old Angelina did this
rendition, but BabyfuzZ denies ever hearing it and maybe the other singers did not do it.
Angelina's version somehow got released on TH-cam a couple of years later but was
immediately taken down. BabyfuzZ recorded his version about a month after Angelina's
got leaked. It did not do well. A fan kept a copy of hers, though, and produced this video
with newer images. It is not clear why Angelina did not release it but the suicide references
at the end or copyright issues are suspect. Anyway, Angelina was the first to sing and
record this beautiful song. Is there anything she can't do?

Absolutely love your reactions Duane. As others have said her ability to make us feel her music is and always has been remarkable. I am almost 71 and have never experienced music in thie way I have since discovering Angelina and I have lived through what most people regard the best music decades, ie, 50’s 60’s 70’s and 80’s! I hope I can live to 100 so I can make up for lost time!
Thanks for another great reaction to & appreciation of this incredible performance by Angelina -at only 10 years old. Of course Angelina has been turning in amazing performances since very young - like her audition on NGT at age 7 (& winning AGT at age 8). I strongly believe that Angelina has the innate GOD given gifts of not only a beautiful voice, but also the ability to emote the essence of each song she sings direct to our hearts & souls allowing us to also deeply FEEL her music as it flows through her. My understanding is that Angelina was asked to demo this song for another artist - "Baby Fuzz" (but it was not released earlier because of the reference to suicide). Anyway - kudos to whoever did the fan made video. A couple of other Angelina great fan made videos that you might enjoy: Angelina singing "How Great Thou Art" in the same style (& key) as Elvis & Wicked Game" (please select the Sune Amtoft version as it shows Angelina playing the piano background music). Great observation , I always think that when I listen to a angelina song. The timing the judgements she makes on the fly in a split second seasoned adul singers are unable to do. She knows when to jump in when the instruments done their job then she knows when to stop when its the instruments turn. Perfection at a young age is god given.

Hey duane, She was ten in this song. A friend of hers and his team wrote a demo song and werent sure what to do with it.they were all seasoned adults. He said I jnow somebody that arranges songs and lyrics that has a good feel for it. So he sends the song to ten year old angelina. She records the song with her input and talent. her mother doesnt want her to release it cuz it has a line in the song that deals with suicide. So she puts it on the shelf. In the meantime Baby Fuzz the guy that sent angelina the demo records it himself and releases it himself. Somehoe when he does that angelinas version gets released at the same time.I listened to both versions. IMO I think angelinas version is better Yet you can see he coppied off angelinas style alittle. But there is only one angelina and shes hard to duplicate.She never released it yet its one of her great pieces of work.She should put it on her next upcomung album IMO. Everybody loves that song. Baby fuzz wrote a great song and angelina perfected it with her talent and style. Great reaction buddy.

Nobody, in the entire history of music, has sung like that at that age, I repeat, nobody! If I am wrong, by mistake or omission, I would appreciate it if someone corrected me.
Many fans believe this is the ultimate song she has ever sung. Her vocals
are just so mature and expressive. It was never released and the answer
would have to come from her mom Sara. But, she was only 10 here, and
I don't think Sara would have allowed her to record it because of a reference
to a self inflicted drowning/suicide mentioned in the latter part of the song.
Maybe, one day, Sara will tell us, but there's no doubt in my mind that this is
a 'chart topping' song for sure.
The oldest she is in the video is 12. She was roughly at 10 yrs of age when the song was laid down. The MV was fan made after it was leaked. So this was leaked sometime after its production as a demo tape for Baby Fuzz. He knew he had written a great song but could not get a label interested. At 10 the labels were all trying to sign Angelina. So it worked. The pity is his version is so much weaker than this. Someone in the studio rightly proud of this leaked it. Probably so they could put it on their resume. Anyway her mother did not want it released. She was uncomfortable with the hints of suicide in the final verse, at a time when the rise of teenage suicide was in the news. So did notcwant that associated with her 10 year old daughter. Especially after she ground out after the fact that Gloomily Sunday is also known as The Hungarian Suicide Song. There is no doubt if it had been released straight away, she would have blown up.
