I learn so much from your videos. One thing I learned by accident is that if you place a portal backwards against a wall, you will arrive and get pushed to the other side of the wall. Might be nice for the tiny house.
You can make this very base in stone, by building in one of the old tower ruins dotted around the map as they are also 3x3. You only need to add a roof and interior to your desire.
I used your hut design in the plains. It’s really low-key so mobs rarely touch me. I built it just at the coastline. I added a dock, a fortified Barley/Flax farm and a piggery to boot. I have an easy access to black metal even though I just barely got into the Silver age.
@@OldGamerzNeverDie it’s pretty neat! Although I have not beaten Moder yet and can’t really use the Flax and Barley, I’m just keeping on multiplying them. But I have to pray to the Deathsquito overlords not to spawn near my stuff and /or kill me.
Looks great. I would turn the fire around so I have access from the inside. Just build the lower wall with 2m pieces and leave enough 1m open for the fire and build a tiny chimney.
For those who'd wanna go have a try building one on a side of a mountain. Try to find a spot that's also easily accessible even without jumping. Cuz, up in the mountains... running and jumping while being chased by a pack of wolves is just asking for trouble.

@@GreenAppelPie i hope so....the current roof design looks old for iron age...XD even the Fuling Camps got better roofs. No way i could accept that. haha
I think you could make a little cabin that could be "easily" and accessible built in every new place you got to explore in order to just store loot, get the rested buff and fix your stuff without needing to travel back to your base many times to get resources or changing servers to grab metals and stuff like that. Like "hey, got to this new forest/swamp/mountain/plains and need a little base where I can fix my stuff and store some things without needing to go back to my base to clear my inventory/repair equips, but don't need to create new stuff here". Adding all the costs of materials would also be a nice touch. I'll do my own version of this tomorrow, but would be nice to see one from you.
I hope Iron Gate will implement the ability to actually build a base INTO a mountain without altering the layers above. I've accomplished building a medium sized base inside of a boulder that rested within a mountain slope but I'd really like to build a cave type of base or something like Helm's Deep in LoTR.
Honestly a shift-click or something where you can make the pickaxe only do the layer you are on, instead of wiping out the upper areas, would be great, but then they would have to code structural integrity for the ground as well to make you have to place supports or it will collapse on you, and that’s honestly probably much more work than it seems up front, but would be fantastic if they ever got around to it.
Do you really need max level benches for a remote base since you have the portal? Mostly it will be gathering resources like minerals then building a cart to cart things back to a ship.
my FOBs are basically just a small walled off enclosure that I attatch some roof to, a campfire, some chests and a portal. if I want the rested buff I use the portal back home to my 17 comfort, get the buff while repairing and cooking or whatever, then head back to the FOB.
