Your method is definityl closer to a proper log cabin than the usual valheim builder way... there is just one extra step one could take to make it look extra realistic: th-cam.com/video/hoLxEBtxapg/w-d-xo.html (the method shown from minute 1:30 on)
Oooh this is a great video! I will definitely plop one of these down in my new world when I've got a ton of core wood that I would usually toss in the kiln
I definitely prefer this method of building a log cabin. I've just finished building my own (I copied yours *grin*). But I wish you'd shown how you did the inside as well. I tried placing a log pole in the middle of the cabin to support the roof. But it caused me terrible trouble and it's still not quite right. Is there a trick to placing something on the ground in the middle of something? How do you get it to line up with the center of the roof?
Late answer here. If your floor is build in an equal number on both axis, you can usually delete one piece of floor and snap the logbeam into place. However, if the cabin floor is build in a unequal number, you might just have to eyeball it. I have done it a few times so its definitely doable :) Good luck have fun!
Claims to be an expert builder, struggles to build a square 😂 Not that I could ever actually judge, I can barely draw a straight line (and there's nothing worse than missing a tiny mistake at the start of a build, like an accidental snap to something else, or a misclick that causes tiny turn in the wrong place, that causes the entire thing to look wrong 6 hours later, forcing a rage and depression fueled demolish)

adding log cabin to the to-do list
I like it. It's very irl "in the wild" like, lol.
Just visited an old american colonial site with a log cabin barracks, and yeah it has this feature too. Base ideas now swirl in my head.
I learned something today! :)
Look's a lot better old school
Brilliant
New go to build!
Looks lovely, but what about the chimney? :O
yeah should've added a chimney, would look like a proper cabin then :)
@@ZomZeroBuilds Yes please add a chimney. I'd really love to see the whole build from start to finish :D
You only need core and normal wood for this right?
this looks to good
What is the world seed? I like that meadows area lol
Im gonna logg on and fix my house.

Squares can be difficult lol :) thanks for watching, and I know exactly what you mean I have destroyed a few builds with Rage demolish activated.
