Lucas original vision would've been hated by most of the people. And he knew it. His sequel trilogy would've been centered in what he called the microbiotic world where the Whills control the universe. He would've talked about midichlorians again.
Star Wars needs to go into more of its mythical elements. So many cool stories and characters in the EU that get ignored. I think people now realize how badly we needed George to stick around longer. He was never perfect but his content was better than most of what Disney has come out with.
@Analyze_This54 I don't see that much of a difference. Now the prequels are better regarded but they still are mostly mediocre at best. The only thing he did better was planning the story in a concrete direction and he only did that with the prequels because in the old trilogy he improvised and changed things much more. Disney can be accused of unoriginal but the movies vary between mostly good and average ok
With Timothy Zahn's six Thrawn novels set in the Kennedy Canon, I was hopeful that Kennedy and Company were going to do more with the Chiss Ascendancy. That's a part of the Star Wars galaxy that is open to explore with little to no lore to get in the way of creativity. I would love more adventures with Aralani and others. The Chiss are all people of color too!
There’s a lot of material for the EU and “non canon” lore that they most certainly could tap into but refuse to. An idea I always wanted to see that I think Star Wars needs now more than ever is a rated R film. I personally would like to see a R film about Star Wars force unleashed and those characters
I’d love to see more mature storytelling in Star Wars. The Netflix Marvel shows were awesome. They would strike gold if they made a show on the same level as Game of Thrones.

The biggest issue is Kathleen Kennedy. Don't use Star Wars for own agendas. Instead, get into the white house or just retire. Disney never has understand the real Star Wars. I’ve tried to give every show a chance, but my faith and patience has run thin. Hence why I made the video today. I like a couple of the shows - Mando, Ashoka, Andor, and Tales of the Jedi. Other than that it’s been pretty disappointing.

The Last Jedi wasn't perfect, but it was a nice balance of something new, while making a few small references to classic Star Wars ideas not explored in the movies yet (the sith experiments that lead to Snoke, etc.) But the weird purists were *so* upset and butthurt that sometimes even heroes can have depression. This minority of fans complained so much that Disney walked back on trying anything new. What we got after that was a movie with no new ideas, that felt like it was written by AI, where no one can be special unless they're one of two bloodines, which ruins the message that any random person (maybe even me, maybe even you!) might be a special hero one day, and replaces it with the mesaage that you have to be inherit being special by having parents with power. The shows recycle old ideas too, over and over, without adding in any new concepts. (Even Andor, which I actually like, is rehashing old war movies, and just reskinning them to Star Wars.) Having a female lead or a gay character isn't new. Princess Leia and Padme exist. Lando was indented to be queer from the start; not restricted by species or gender. Old interviews show us that it was also a completely valid read of Luke to think of him as queer. (I personally don't, but if it's a read that the staff acknowledges as a possibility, and it doesn't conflict the actual story, then that's a valid read. Not everyone has to have the same reading of a character for it to be valid.) It's an adventure story, so we don't delve into most characters' genders or sexualities, and that makes sense for the genre. I'm tired of the tired, rehashed oroboros Star Wars has become and I'm sad that's lead to a dilution of the original idea of it.
(As a side note, I'm actually pretty tired of there being so much romance in other genres. They're consistently the weakest elements of adventure stories. Fortunately, the Han and Leia romance scenes in the original trilogy only happened in the context of other plot elements, but even with those limitations, they were still by far the weakest parts of scripts that otherwise hold up beautifully even to modern audiences. Han was a creep, and I appreciate that's an aspect of the character and he grows and changes into less of a creep over time, but oof some of those scenes still aged incredibly poorly.)
Lucas is the worst script writer and director of all time. Only fan boys cant see it. The prequels has some of the dumbest dialogue, bad acting and terrible direction in all of movie history. The only Star Wars show i haven't liked is The Acolyte. And EA's Battlefront II is my favorite video game of all time!
