Not on performance. They handle great.fofr EV's, but they are still the worst handling Lotus ever. The real lotus sports cars will still be made in the UK, the cash cow cars built in China.
You need the industrial might, technological know how and capability like Geely to really push these sophisticated EV's onto the market now. These EV's have to the best personal transport solution on the road today to make them popular and attract people away from traditional ICE vehicles. I'm glad I made the switch. These EV's look dam good now! Well Done Lotus/Geely!
Hi Uncle Bobby, thanks for sharing a video about the Lotus Emaya. I totally agree on your thoughts about this stunning beautiful car. I have decided to cancel my purchase of MB EQS500 and buy the Emaya instead. The carbon fiber in this car looks wild. 😍
Chinese auto manufacturers have come up with so advance technology and design in such a short decades. Really amazing. The ICE and legacy auto manufacturers will have a hard time to survive and compete from now on and is happening already.
Nice. But I think Lotus could’ve done the dashboard better. Slapping a tablet there is just lazy design. In this area I think the Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV dashboard looks way better.
@@applejuice138 same here. I was in the market for a Taycan and then drove the Eletre and Emaya here in Germany. I instantly signed for the Emaya. It is not better than the Taycan in every aspect but in a lot, especially interior quality. And it is a much rarer car, Taycans are around every corner, at least here in Berlin area.
I just saw a load of lotus electric suvs in the rivian factory parking lot in the USA.. From the side they look like the new Chevy Ev.. I feel the design is just weak.. it lacks the lotus flair.
hmmm, while I have never owned a Lotus, I always wanted one and my impression is that they are light, incredible to drive and the thought of a Lotus being built in a chinese factory because "it is cheaper" violates the ENTIRE premise of the history and mystique of Lotus. I will just have to wait and buy a gas one some day.
@@RRBOROOAH for us yes, because we haven't even own a taycan ... For those who did, they all say they wished it's slightly bigger inside more spacious inside :)
You seem absolutely clueless about performance cars. If anybody can build a Lotus in their back yard, why were Lotus the only people creating the best handling cars in the world. Yes, it was designed in England, that's why it doesn't look so confused and style less as Asian cars do. They are building the car in China because they are opening a market in Asia and it is CHEAPER to build in China. The car itself can be built in any country in the world where they put the factory. You are clueless.
The car looks nice, albeit having the generic Chinese EV look (especially I cannot stand the lazy design of slapping a big iPad in the interior, there needs to be more integration with the dashboard), but you can't compare the aftersales service of Lotus vs Porsche especially it is priced the same bracket as Taycan. Lotus dealership not a lot in major cities, whereas Porsche service centers are plentiful. FYI I am a Taycan owner and will never wish for this. You tell non-car people you driving Lotus, most will like 'huh? what brand?' whereas owning a Porsche badge itself is on another level.
In Germany the Lotus service works like that: You get a loaner (for free of course) delivered to your address and your car is transported to the service center. When service is finished you get the car back to your address. No need to visit any service center ;)
Geely has indeed revived Lotus and brought it back to life on every level.

yup , just like the mini , rolls royce under BMW and MG, rover under SAIC
oh of cos - bentley is now VW and TATA owns the jag and landrover brands too ..

Lotus EV design looks better on a sedan form rather than a SUV.
Thanx for this video! Greetings from Hungary! 🙂

Nice showroom, so far I’m only able to go Lotus’s
Amazing looking line up of cars
The best emeya review so far!
Great sharing and amazing. Thanks Bobby for this video
Surprised it didn't came with Snapdragon 8295 SoC, that processor is insanely fluid.
It is selling pretty good already in our market.
im definitely buying one …once the resale price drops significantly…love this car so much
Agreed. If the price does dropped like Taycan, it is so worth it.
yeah ev maintenance is less than petrol, if i get an ev it will be this
i cant help it, but everytime i see this car it look like a modernise gen 2 especially the back
So nice to live in Malaysia or China as car is sooooooo affordable. Singapore is ridiculous.
But I thought Malaysia is not nice to live? The anti-Malaysia Singaporeans will like what you just said.
These Chinese cars are really amazing

Trade in aston for this 😍
Looks good. I don’t think I’d take it over a Porsche though
The head room in the back looks very tight
Prices ... ?
Chinese car 100%
Even sober this guy wouldn't pass a roadside sobriety rest
As a consumer of many things in the modern world I am not a fan of the headlights although I would never be able to afford this car
Sobriety test failed.🤣 Dude had to lean on the car.🙆♂️
Video title is a blasphemy , Porsche owners will stick to their own proven n tested models.
I own a Taycan but after test driving the Eletre, now i’m in a big dilemma 😂 Lotus are so fun !

The reason they're built in China is because the Brits can't build it

if you remove the badge I legit will think its a Zeekr
The wheels imitate a Ferrari model (unsure), but I like it.

Haha. What a joke. The Brits cant even build a proper toilet seat these days, let alone a car. The UK is a joke now.
If it's not Tesla, I wouldn't trust that.
Tesla is built like my home couch. Cheap but usable and disposable.

Lotus EV wheels are better design than most EV... hate those plasticky and ugly aerodynamic design of EV wheel.
Lotus made a big mistake going too heavy on EVs. These cars won't sell well.
Ok
The Lotus EVs are selling like no Lotus ever did. Giving Lotus a lease of life to make sports cars. Win win
