I have to be honest the Emira is too big & heavy & makes the Exige look small. I’d take the Exige with the V6, 300KG lighter, faster & is a convertible. If I wanted comfort I’d by a dullard land barge.
While this isn't on the level of Top Gear, this was very well presented, very organized. You're an excellent speaker to boot! As for the car, I would get this as a track car, I already have the V6 manual. I'm not ever going to be good enough to track a manual car. I like it.
Nice! I think manual V6 still feels a bit more special than the i4, but the i4 is definitely easier to drive both on road and on track. How long have you had your Emira?
Good, comprehensive review and comparison. It was interesting to see the side by side comparisons of the two different generations cars and the different emphasis on the approaches to their use cases. Few things to mention as an Emira owner… 1. The rev limit does not change between driving modes*. 2. Lotus changed the HP from 360 to 400 for the 4-cylinder model. 3. Surprised to hear you say the seating feels low, many people including me say the opposite and I’d go so far as to say the seats are the biggest opportunity to improve the driving experience (less politically correct… worst seats I’ve encountered in any car - too much lumbar, too tight in thigh area, too firm, and seating position too high). - *Tour mode tachometer has more colored crosshatching leading up to max RPM which makes it appear like a lower redline.
Very good points, thank you for that! The seating position is not as good/low as the Exige, but for a somewhat practical sportscar, we felt it was pretty decent. How long have you had yours? It's a V6?
Zinc Grey looks fantastic. A lot of people say it doesn't look good compared to some of the other colors, but I think it looks great. It's definitely a color that you have to see in-person to appreciate. Can't wait for mine to come in.
Just come across your channel, it's brilliant how in depth you go on each car, amazing, Amira in that color looks gorgeous so I might go take a test drive, I'm in UK and on track we do love the manual but I feel the amg engine and flappy gearbox would be great as I've had the A45 amg and was very easy to tune which I do to all my cars in the 1st week of having them😂😂throw out the warranty. Crazy I know but me and my racing driver mates are always in competition😂
@craiga631 if that's the case the AMG engine definitely has more mod potential. It's chassis is very good, you should definitely take a test drive. Let us know what you think
The I4 8speed is the best combo and car other than the audi rs 3 7 speed the point of the emira is to be more comfortable everyday driver that can do track days not a track car only
It's a great entry level sportscar, it has just the right amount of power, not overwhelming at all, and it's very stable at high speed. Are you looking to buy one?
The Emira really makes the Exige look dated, it makes the Exige look like its Grandpa... crazy to think when the Exige was 1st born it looked futuristic.

@@sundaymorningdrives Performance, steering feel, overall much more dramatic and unfiltered. I am not old enough yet to require such luxury in my week end light rocket car.
@@sundaymorningdrives with either of those engines the Emira would of in my opinion been one of the best sports cars ever made. Great review. Exige is a Lotus and pure drivers car - the last Norfolk Lotus. Emira is dull and fat like a Porsche, misses the point of a Lotus. Last Lotus built by Norfolk, it is sad. Review should be on a track too, that’s the point of it.
@PeteAnda right now we are doing this as a hobby, so it's not really realistic yet for us to do track reviews, haha. But glad you enjoyed the video, we need more support from you guys to keep making these videos 😄. And yes, I love my Exige, it's such a special Lotus
@@sundaymorningdrivesI own several lotus cars. They are all strong performers, reliable, and cheap to run. My emira is the newest one. I’ve had it for one year so far, and not squeak out of it. Drives well, performs well, and goes well on the track.
@@davidsparavec8996 great to hear! I've had my Exige for almost 3 years now, and that is such a special sportscar that I will keep for a long time to come. Is your Emira an i4 or v6?

The Exige 420 though. Gorgeous.
Pretty special right? They don't make cars like this anymore
Lotus did a great job considering what it had to deal with.
@ThereIsNoSubstitute thanks, it's an interesting sportscar, are you interested of getting one?

I think it's called the Zinc Grey, good great on the Emira isn't it?
So in your opinion, i4 emira or v6 emira as as secondary weekender car?
Personally I would go for the V6, it feels a little more special and dramatic than the i4, but the i4 has more tunable potential 😉
